I am in for the month of April. I will moderate to 1 x a week. March was not good, but I am ready to kick start my weight loss again, feel great and start looking refreshed and energized. I did very well in Jan and Feb. Glad to be back.5

March was pretty much a fail for me, but I'm back for a better April. I'm glad this thread keeps going, I still read everything, and post once in a while...lots of inspiration here.
I start work again on Monday, so that is a huge relief...7 -
I am in of course!
I plan to stick to drinking only on Saturdays again
Except ...
I start vacation next Friday. And I am not going to overthink anything while away at our cabin in the mountains. I will be excercising and I will have more alcohol free days than not, but I am also not going to feel bad about having some drinks out there either. Once I come back that following Monday I am determined to get right back into my healthy habits.13 -
Last night, Friday, made it 6 days AF this week. For my Friday drink I made myself a Mock Mule: blackberries muddled, lime juice, a pinch of sugar and ginger beer (af). With crushed ice it was delicious. The main flavor in a Moscow Mule is the ginger beer anyway. Here's to our health.10

I'm in for April, too. I am going to commit to a dry April as well, I found that when I didn't have a firm plan for March, I spent too much time and energy thinking about it. So glad to be here with you all!5

Hi there,
I quit drinking about 3 months ago. I am an alcoholic and had to quit. This time it will stick. I read a book called "This Naked Mind" by Annie Grace. If any of you ever thought that maybe you have a problem...read it. It is life changing. Whether you quit or cut down, it will change how you think about alcohol. It is amazing how much alcohol becomes a part of our lives. My new go to is sparkling water. I like to try different kinds. Sometimes all we need is something in our hands to sip on. Its funny now watching other people go down hill and I am so happy that's not me anymore. Plus I am the DD. I love that I am able to be the one to get people home safely.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. I have been in the pit and now I am out and feel great. Lost weight, think clearer and spending a lot less money!!!13 -
My favorite group of folks on MFP! Hey, guys! I’m 170 days sober here. Some days are harder than others, but my goal is to abstain completely as my drinking was quite problematic and life has been so amazing (Though not necessarily easy.) the past 170 days. I have no intention of ever drinking again. Here is my latest progress pic comparison. I’m 57 pounds down and that is something I just couldn’t do when I was drinking because I would binge drink several nights a week and binge drinking always led to crazy binge eating. And the hangovers meant I never had energy to do much of anything.

I’m in for a damp April (it’s a good month for that right!?). I’ve been practicing mindful moderation since finding Julie’s original thread in January. I’ve definitely cut back on the frequency of consumption and the total consumption when I do drink - other than this past week on my all inclusive trip to Mexico. So that skewed my totals for the month of March but even still I know I was restrained and in control of my choices about the drinks I enjoyed - never felt drunk, tipsy or hungover on the trip. Everything was spaced out and considered before ordering and consuming.
Will have a challenging start to my alcohol limiting April with a sales meeting in Florida and nightly cocktail hours/dinners, but past that first week I foresee a fairly dry month during the week and a couple of drinks on each of the weekends.
Welcome to the new folks and good to see all of the past participants refocusing our efforts!9 -
Ok I made it without drinking on Good Friday, the holiday that my son passed. Now to make it on April 3rd, Tuesday, his actual passing day, with Easter in between. God I miss him! I am proud of my behavior so far. No drinking started shortly after my birthday (19th) on January 23rd. Enough was enough.26

Great blog- a little long, so just read the highlights. But some real similarities to the things mentioned on our thread over the last few months... looking younger, flatter belly and losing weight, save money and take a trip to Italy, dancing sober, learning new hobbies, more time to do those hobbies, improve relationships with friends and family, and falling in love with life again. I learned about This Naked Mind thanks to this thread. I have the book and also listened to it on Audible, joined Annie's 30 day Alcohol Experiment (that was amazing for me) and her FB group is absolutely filled with so much support. I am on Day 70 and sparkling water is a constant for me! Congrats on your new way of life!

I’m on day 7 of being AF (except for cough syrup that is).7
