I would strongly suggest you run the 18-mile race. The step from the half to the full marathon is not to be underestimated. Ideally, you would get a couple runs in the 20 mile range, on tired legs with low glucose storage, in before your first full.

Congratulations @7lenny7 ! On edge waiting for that race report! (No rush, I'm off to bed).
@midwesterner85 Hang in there. I know you'll get back on track. I know it's easy for me to say since I'm happy any day I can put one foot in front of the other... you have some exceptional circumstances with BG issues.
I admire each of your runs no matter how short they are. It takes some determination to do what you do. I'm rooting for you. You inspre me. Don't ever give up.
(rooting is an odd word- does that mean I'm a pig of some sorts, snorts, snouts?)4 -
@Teerai I use stitcher and you can go back all the way to episode one.0

SO hot today. Around 28C (82F), which I know is a lot cooler than some of you get, but understand I live in Canada, and fairly far north at that! I do not deal with the heat very well and neither do my kids. I didn't get out to run until after sunset (tried for an AM run but my eyes wouldn't open, and then my youngest had trouble falling asleep due to the heat because A/C is not a thing here).
It was a really nice run, though. Stiff and ugh for the first 2 km and then it was great. I did a shorter run than planned because I got out so late but I will run longer on Thursday to make up for it. Tomorrow is supposed to be speedwork and I will pop by the gym to do that indoors because i don't have time to wait for it to cool off tomorrow night.
Probably won't make goal this month but that's fine. My goals are always just a kind of wild guess anyway.

I struggled a bit on my run today. My legs were stiff (too much airplane sitting?) and my left achilles was bothering me. I also decided today that I can't run in my new(er) Skora Forms. They just don't have enough cushion.

Very busy few days at school. Graduation and now trying to finish up tons of stuff, I missed a ton of messages here and I didn't even update my runs on my own Notes app that I use to track them. Had to look at Strava to see what I did.
We've had days and days of rain here in Orlando ... so hopefully tonight no rain so I can ride in the group ride!

Reluctantly ran in the rain this morning because the after-work forecast looked worse. It was a good decision because rain ended up being really light during my run and it just poured after I got home from work. I was glad I sucked it up and didn't take a rest day.
In other good news, my group got officially into the Falmouth Road Race (7 miles) on Cape Cod on August 19th. So excited for this trip - I've never been to the cape and it sounds like a really fun race with elite runners as well as casual run for fun folks. We rented a house and have plans to order t-shirts for our team theme - we are the Pink Cheetahs
So I add that officially to my upcoming races:
4/22/18 Owens Corning Half Marathon, Toledo OH
5/12/18 Right to Run 19K, Seneca Falls, NY
6/3/18 Niagara Falls Women's Half Marathon
6/5/18 JP Morgan Corporate Challenge (3.5 mile), Syracuse NY
7/8/18 Boilermaker 15K, Utica NY
8/19/18 Falmouth Road Race (7 miles), Falmouth, MA
8/26/18 18.12 Challenge, Sackets Harbor, NY??? (not yet signed up)
10/28/18 Marine Corps Marathon, Arlington VA
I really need to figure out if I can do a HM in September, maybe instead of the 18.12 Challenge or in addition to it. The 18.12 is, as implied, a little over 18 miles so it would be a good practice for me to have a longer distance. But not sure if I should have a "prep" race a little closer to marathon time?
I'm so jealous! I'd love to run Falmouth. A friend has run it a couple of times and says it's one of her favourite races. And the Cape is beautiful.1 -

Short run last night, my husband runs with me on Tuesdays at our local running store fun runs and he was having a lot of lower back pain right from the start (he woke up yesterday morning with it but it had gotten better throughout the day). I know he wanted to keep going so I could get 4 miles but I kept telling him I didn't care about the miles and running with back pain is the worst. He finally agreed and we walked back to the store. Hoping he feels better today.

I have found even the first episodes on my iPhone podcasts- and I’m not very techs, so if I can find it, it is easy. Also, I wonder if the podcast people are wondering why there is a sudden spike in downloads of said show.

Wanted to get an hour in this morning, so that ended up being 7 miles. Was hot and humid, but that goes without saying these days. In fact, I'm not going to say it again this summer. Just assume that until about middle of October. Other than that, felt pretty good. Had to slow myself down at times, but felt very comfortable. HR averaged only 123.

@rheddmobile I thought about keeping my beard through the Superior race, but I shaved it off soon after Zumbro. When it gets warm and sweaty, I can't stand it. I'll start another one in September.
@katharmonic Cape Cod running sounds like it could be a fun, beautiful race, congrats.
@ROBOTFOOD that is some excellent vertical. Epic photo!
@orphia enjoy the stars! I spent the night before my race stargazing in the back of my pickup, filled with wonder and awe. I could stare at the stars for hours.
I'm going to a 10K trail race tonight, but I won't be running in it. I'm a volunteer photographer. The race is put on by Rockstead Running, the same folks who do the Zumbro, Superior Spring, and Superior Fall. They have an Endless Summer Trail Running Series which is a low-cost, easily accessible series of shorter (4 mile to 10K) trail races around the Minneapolis metro area. For just $25 you get an awesome race course, a race specific sticker (last year it was pint glasses) and all the beer/pop and pizza you want afterwards. This race series was my introduction to trail racing two years ago and since they all sell-out I figured it was time to let someone else take my spot and start volunteering for them. I'm bringing my running gear though, so if I don't have too much pizza and beer, I'll run a few miles afterwards.
