You can't spot reduce fat, like the above poster said.

You shouldn't be making up a routine at this point, you should be following one that was built by a professional.

    Agree (as usual)^^

And to your other question, my routine is set by my powerlifting coach and I just do as I'm told.

I follow Wendler's 5/3/1 protocol, with some minor tweaks based on my own needs/preferences/goals.

When I go to the gym I go down the line of machines plus captain chair and leg press. I'm a beginner and am seeing results.

I'm also working up to 100 push ups a day. Currently on 80. I couldn't do 3 when I started.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not here to copy others routines I have my own routine I'm putting together that suits me.

As the title says this is weight lifting discussion so wanted to here what others do etc to start conversations.

I'm not a total beginner I was going the gym before I had to stop, now just getting back into it.

Good to see some posts about there goals and how you have improved, congrats

    Happy training

I didn't see any results until I started using a plan made by professionals. Not saying you have to pay someone to train you. But using one of the programs listed in the thread @usmcmp linked above will get you where you want to be much faster. Learn from my mistake. ;)

Me, too. Then 5/3/1 (which I hated), so I switched to Norton's PH3.

I started out with Stronglifts as well. Then I moved on to Ice Cream Fitness and then PHUL.

I'm coming back from a wrist injury that required surgery so at the moment I'm working on Stronglifts again and slowly eking my way back.

I basically do Starting Strength with a higher rep range and a few additional accessory movements.
