I slept like a baby last night. I knew I would. No alcohol - was very tired. Slept over 8.5 hours and fitbit says no awake time and only one time restless. World record sleep. So happy!

@donimfp Do you meditate? I downloaded insight timer app. Then, I go to bed listening to a short 15 min. Sleep mediation. I think it really helps me fall asleep faster. Happy you are feeling better.

I look forward to no obsessive thinking, planning, regretting in July. Vale contends that that kind of "sobriety" is so painful because one is still under the influence of alcohol, obsessing about it constantly.....I guess that's why his statement rang true to me. I've never wanted a life of slavery to alcohol--whether drinking it or avoiding it. Right now, I'm celebrating being a non-drinker.
That is the kind of sobriety I would have during my previous lapses from drinking. Each day would be a countdown to the "end" of my sober period so I could drink again & It was NEVER off my mind. That is the mindset that does make me a slave to the drink.
Congrats to all of us who were able to go dry this month OR not so dry OR had some slips along the way because regardless of our goal, just sticking it out on this thread is a success. Continuing to share our ups & downs regardless is a success!!!
On to dry July or not-so-dry July whichever!! with the aim of healing our wounds & helping each other to be better people.
