Just re-joining MFP and this is my first challenge!
Female, over 40 and my metabolism is apparently a super-saver. Gained over 20 pounds in the last year after an injury and am at my highest weight. Glad to see this challenge and looking forward to tracking!

06/17 - 151 (HS 149.7) - 1765 - 10-day ave 1432
This makes no sense to me at all. My calories yesterday were a bit higher than normal, but my 10-day averages for quite a while have been at or below my maintenance level, so at worst I should be holding steady. I've been walking at least an hour 3 -5 times a week, drinking lots of water.... I occasionally have a high-sodium day, but mostly keep within bounds. My macros average out regularly to C 40-55, F 25-35, P 20-25, so I don't see a problem there. Bah!
I'm thinking of not weighing in daily this round - it's makin' me crazy - or of looking only at my running ave weight from Happy Scale instead of daily fluctuations, which might make me slightly less disappointed. How can my weight not only not go down, but go up, eating fewer calories the past 3 weeks than I was eating for months before while maintaining the same weight? Makes no sense at all. Short of extreme diets, anyone have any suggestions based on experience?

I had a mild "don't care" yesterday and went slightly over calorie goal, but all healthy food, and under my estimated TDEE (maintenance). I'm still thoroughly confused by this uptick, but I'll just ride it out. So much for crunching the numbers! Maybe it is partly the heat - we've been under a heat advisory for 3 days, so I'm drinking gallons of water and not getting as much walking (I had heat stroke years ago and am prone to getting sick in severe heat, so I don't take any chances).
06/19 - 151 (HS 150) - 1485 - 10-day ave 1471
Sigh. But...I joined the Y yesterday and am getting my hair cut short today - those take care of my excuses for not getting my butt moving. The hair is because my goal is to swim laps 20-30 min 3 mornings/week and need quick-dry and no wrap-around-the-head locks. Ha! Other goals @ Y - Flex/Stretch and Yoga classes 2-3 days and weights 3 days, and out-and-about 60 min or longer walks most evenings. This is all doable (with time for other things I love - painting, dog training, reading, hubby, and - oh yeah! - writing & teaching [also known as work]), because I used to do this. I just need to re-form the habit of putting my health first. I'm also beginning to think I've cut my calories too low and it's counterproductive, so am raising my calorie goal to1450, which is half way between MFP's and SailRabbit's maintenance numbers for me. I'll eat at maintenance and see what happens with the added activity. And I'll relax and remember that I weigh 68+ pounds less than I did 3 years ago, 5 less than a year ago, and that I've been hanging out within 3 pounds for months. Although I'm technically overweight, I'm healthy and look pretty good, my BP is down to 120/78 without meds, and the rest of my blood work is dead normal. So I'm switching to a more positive view of where I am rather than whining about those pesky 20 pounds. They'll go eventually. And once again, thanks so much for this forum, all of you but esp. @GrandmaJackie for keeping it going. Just writing things out like this, and reading feedback and other people's "reports from the field" helps tremendously.

I couldn't get onto the forums this morning, so I'm late, I'm late.... I didn't mean to eat so little yesterday, I just wasn't hungry so didn't force it. For a long time I've worked hard to hit my "minimums," and that's just as silly as having a breakdown over one high-cal day. As long as things average out over 7-10 days, I'll go with that. (It's the new, more relaxed me ).

6/17 at 8:30 / 231.2 / I didn't deserve to stay the same weight! We went out to eat to a place with gluten free bread served with oil and parmesan cheese. So good and such a rare treat.
6/18 at 7:30 / 230.8 / Just goes to show that sometimes bodies is weird. I went over calories on Saturday (by 400) and yesterday (by 40) and I'm lighter today.
6/19 at 6:25 / 230.6 / Had a good eating day, considerably under calories, and still managed to fit a Snickers with hazelnut in. Which means I'll want those every day for like six months, but it was worth it.
6/20 at 6:15 / 230.2 / Another good eating day, slightly under calories (I do not have my calories set low at all). And I finally got some exercise in! (And since I'm posting late, I can say I got it in on the 20th, too!)

6/17- Went out for breakfast, and a barbecue, made healthy choices and drank lots of water.
6/18- Great day for exercise, walked and treadmill, 50 mins.

Round 2 for me.
6/17 Starting weight 193.8 walked 6 miles and 14,000 steps today which included some walking at the school track. Got in my water (96 degrees here today). Did well on my Keto diet. Did my 16:8 Intermittent fast. Everything went well today. I am hoping to get back to my most recent lowest weight soon which was 190.0 . Best wishes to you all. I just want you all to know how much you always inspire me…….
6/18 192.0 walked 7 miles and 14,000 steps today mostly “spring” cleaning. Intermittent fasted for 14 hours falling 2 hours short of my typical. Logged. Drank minimum water because I was so busy. I went over my allowable carbs of 20 (at about 30) but MFP allowed me much more if I wanted to eat back my burned calories. I was just extra hungry after all the work, but I stuck completely to my keto friendly foods. Tomorrow will be another busy day. I will make a better meal and water plan but I am happy with my progress so far.
6/19 I Honestly forgot to weigh this morning when I was awoken early with someone at the door. But my weight was probably up because I went on a binge last night with snacks, then I even got up and cooked! I drank a lot of water today to try to flush it. I walked over 18,000 steps including two miles at the school track. I did some very physical jobs in the house. BUT THERE IS NO SUCH THINGS AS OUTRUNNING THE FORK so tomorrow will tell the true tale and I know I will pay. Please folks, don’t follow in my example. It was not worth it. If I cheat next time, it will be more than just binging and overeating my diet foods. Anyway, keep me in mind and pray I’ll get strong again folks. I’ve been pretty weak off and on for the past month. I will try harder tomorrow as today was not the greatest either. I’m honest and faithful in my logging though which, at least, leaves me with remorse.
6/20 195.2 after the above binge night. Stuck to my diet very well today eating healthy keto friendly foods. Lots of walking at work and home logging over 6 miles and over 14,000 steps on my fitbit. Lots of coffee and tea today. Working on the water tonight. I continue to log every morsel and stare either victory or defeat directly in the eye. I join other strong confident women here on MFP in our quest to good health and happiness. I hope the scale tomorrow will reflect my sacrifices today. Nonetheless, I shall prevail!

6/16 - 60.6kg (-1.0kg) - This was a big drop from yesterday and I have a feeling I will be chasing this number for most of this round. Have made my initial overall goal weight today though so I am taking it and am happy happy happy!!
6/17 - 61.6kg (+1.0kg) - Had a wonderful night last night with my girlfriends, full of delicious snacks and wine. If this is my weekend bump I will be happy! Great news as well - I got an interview for an amazing job but I am already going through a really tough/stressful time and this is just one more thing I need to put my energy into. Just going to do my best and try to manage my stress without reverting to old habits of eating everything in sight.
6/18 - 61.7kg (+0.1kg) - Mother-in-laws Sunday dinner (and my lack of self-restraint) strikes again.
6/19 - 61.1kg (-0.6kg) - Played laser tag last night and OMG it was so much fun. Burnt 580kcals too! Glad to be getting back down towards my goal weight after a heavier weekend. Stress is still accumulating though and I had a slip last night into old habits.
6/20 - 60.8kg (-0.3kg) - Woop woop! I think I'm going to change my goal for this round down to my next huge milestone of under 60kg. How surreal and exciting!
6/21- 60.7kg (-0.1kg) - So I changed my goal back to 60.2kg for this round. TOM approaching, final weigh-in is the same day as a big job interview, I'm stressed as it is and honestly I have been pushing my calories down past a sensible level . I have to remind myself that slow and steady is ok!

Didn't weigh over the weekend - routine up the wall as had my teenage daughters sleepover party, hubby been away although home now and Fathers Day - not a normal weekend at all! Meal out with daughter, sleepover party food was involved including birthday cake, full on cooked breakfast yesterday for Fathers Day, Sunday roast yesterday for fathers day with alcohol and desserts - aarrgghh! Did I go mad - not really but the excess carbs bloated feeling back again today which I do not like! Back on plan today, short 12 mile cycle tonight planned and weigh ins from tomorrow..... Wedding on Friday and cheerleading weekend away (2 nights hotel living and a 5 hour drive each way) so going to be hard to stay on track but not being on here definitely wont help
Round 44 aim - stay on track as far as possible, plenty of water, try to choose healthiest options possible when eating out Aim not to gain any weight - I would see maintenance as a success this round
19/06 142.60lb - same as this time last week despite my weekend indulgences - so guess that means at least when there are no events in my way I must be eating and exercising ok! Good food day yesterday and a 12 mile cycle so feel better today. Todays food all planned and should be good with an hours PT at the gym tonight
Just over 4 weeks till our sons wedding and 6 weeks till our holiday - so time to re-focus!
20/06 - 141.4lb - 1.20lb off - exactly the same weight as this time last week for the second day on the trot! just proves in my head the effect a weekend of non-tracking / eating anything does to my weight - as if I needed proof! Will tomorrows weigh in be a surprise or not?
21/06 - 140.1lb - 1.3lb down surprise surprise - same as last Thursday! Gym tonight, planed food (including hubbys home made - all within calories and macros - burgers) so hoping tomorrows weigh in is a good one to set me up for our manic weekend Round all good so far.....

6/17 - 166 - Considering my giant drop to end the round yesterday, I'm very happy with this weight.
6/18 - 166 - I hopped on the scale several times this morning. It bounced up to 167 once, but since it showed 166 3 times, that is what I'm going with. I had a lot of sodium this weekend so I'll be drinking my water today.
6/19 - 165 - Yay, nice to see this number again. I'll see how long it lasts, but at least it's a downward trend.
6/20 - 165 - I'm really happy that yesterday was not a fluke. It's been 11 years since I've been at this weight. I told my husband this morning that I'm only 10 pounds from our wedding weight. I cautioned him though, that there's going to be a difference between a 37 year old and a 54 year old at the same weight, so don't get too excited!
6/21 - 165 - I don't think I've held a weight for 3 days before. I'm usually bouncing up and down. I'll take it and am starting to hope that I'll see a 164 in the near future.

6/17 - 189lbs – happy father’s day to all.
6/18 – 191lbs – what a fathers day, food, cocktails , and live music, what a lazy day.
6/19 – 193lbs - very stressful day and didn’t get to eat till after 9pm. Also eat horrible. Could be a bad week!!
6/20 – 190lbs – ate unhealthy crap all day. 1000 calories over maintenance. worked and fished hard yesterday. 5 hours sleep.. 6/19 weight gain was probably the 2 jars of pickles I eat on Monday.
6/21 - 193lbs – lunches have been way to unhealthy the last 2.3 days. Still I knew this was going to be a crazy week.

6/17- 237.2 Only .2lbs off my weekly loss goal. Also down .4lbs from yesterday’s R43 EW. Went to BFF’s birthday party with Asian food and skipped all the noodles and carbs. Didn’t have cake. Didn’t miss it. Woohoo!
6/18- 236.8 Readjusted my goals and calories budget decreased by 200 calories. Not worried about it though since I’ve been consistently logging below budget. I have a nagging worry in the back of my mind that this big weight loss at the beginning of my journey won’t stick. I’m at about 13lbs in 3 weeks with just sticking to 1500 calories. No exercise yet because I’m waiting for clearance. I feel like I’m cheating somehow.
6/19- 237.2 Didn’t have to get on the scale to know there would be a gain today. Too much sodium, not enough water. Bloated and crampy today. AF still a no-show. Meh.
6/20- 236.2 Not sure what to think. AF finally decided to visit. I forgot how painful and uncomfortable it is. At least it confirms my suspicion for the gain yesterday. Don’t know how this round will play out. I’ve never tracked my weight during before. Ate at a deficit and was vigilante about drinking water. Bridal shower luncheon for a good friend/coworker today. I’m budgeting my calories for the chocolate cake.
6/21 236.6 AF is not a pleasant visitor. Cramping and cravings. Note to self: STAY THE COURSE. Your body will catch up eventually. 3-4 more pounds and I’ll have lost the equivalent of my 5 month old.

6/17 - Traveling
6/18 - 156.8 - A huge win as I was unable to weigh myself over the weekend and we had many meals out as we were on vacation. Getting back to my normal routine today and trying to get plenty of water in.
100 days of logging today!
6/19 - 155.8 - Lots of swimming yesterday with my kids, no snacking, back to IF and plenty of water. Just need to work on how late dinners are. We get so caught up doing stuff outside it's 7-8:00 before we even think about cooking something. Overall yesterday was a good day though, plan on continuing the goodness right on through this round.
6/20 - 154.8 - Would love to cruise right on out of the 150s this round but also would be extremely happy with the number I'm at right now too.
6/21 -154.0 - My round goal! I didn't do anything to deserve this besides eat a little under calories. My steps were horrible and I didn't exercise, won't be surprised if it increases tomorrow but will step it up today and hopefully it'll stick around.

6/17 – 133.4. Going to head out for a bike ride in a bit…then get organized for the next week/ 10 days. Grocery shopping, meal prep and setting up a productive week…with sleep, workouts and no more than 40 hours of work.
6/18 -133 intermittent fast. I went to the gym with the trainer and did a 40 min run on hills. Drank 56 oz of water..came home and stepped on the scale for grins and it was 131.4..I know that is water fluctuation but I am happy to see that number…Made a big pot of Minestrone last night- used water and not broth to cut down on the Sodium. I am going on vaca on 6/28 and want to be under 130 by then. It will be a very active vacation.
6/19 – 132.4. Yay. Motivated. Have good foods prepped and exercise on the agenda. Getting a bit more sleep. Must keep it going!
6/20-133…under calories but…a little salty snack of pretzels before bed. I was craving salt and had a good swim during the day and went climbing at night so prob dehydrated, even with the water I did drink. I have never weighed in daily and it is rather fascinating to see! Got 8 hours of sleep last night and I feel gooood today!
6/21 – 132.2. Happy about this…bike ride last night. I think this could be lower but...I had two beers with dinner after but was under my calories as I ate great all day AND for dinner. It's about balance - I can't not live! Planning to get in a run this am and some climbing tonight. I am feeling good. Sleep is helping. 8 hours last night again.
