Hello All,
I am still relatively new at this but would like to purchase a food scale. I am looking to buy one amazon if possible since it is the most convenient for me. Does anyone have any brand suggestions?
Thanks!

Look for one that's digital, has a tare function, and can easily switch between grams and ounces. If you plan to cook big batches of food then you might want one that can handle a higher capacity.
Mine is a Taylor brand and it's been chugging along for four years now. Ozeri is also a good brand.3 -
I got this one, in PURPLE! Because PURPLE! I've had it for years and it works great.

I have this and like it.

This is the one I bought in 2016 and have used it daily since with no issues.

Thank you so much!
I will add those qualifications to my search.0 -

Quite possibly all newer ones do, but you also want it to read out negatives if you have something on the scale, hit "tare" to zero it, then remove part of that something.
Smart people weigh peanut butter'n'stuff by putting the jar on the scale, hitting tare, removing peanut butter with a table knife, reading/logging the negative, smearing the peanut butter on whatever, then licking the knife.1 -

That's a good point that I hadn't thought to include. Negative numbers are great.1 -
Just make sure it's digital! Much more accurate.0

Been well served by this model. I like the larger size and platform design which makes it easier to read when weighing on a plate or skillet.0

Agreed that that's a great feature, but would add that if someone's already bought one with a smaller platform, one can put a bowl on the platform and carefully balance the plate or skillet on top, to provide a bit more reading room. I've had to do this now and then when weighing something on a cookie sheet!1 -
I use a non digital scale. It does the job, only cost me £12 roughly. I would like a digital one in future though as theyll be a little more easier to read0

I use the amazonbasics. It has a tare function and u can switch between units while food is on the scale. It will also show negative numbers, which is handy in that u can put say a jar of peanut butter on there, zero it, and measure your peanut butter by how much you are taking out of the jar.I think it was only 10 bucks.0

I bought an Ozeri on Amazon for about $11/$12, and it works beautifully.1

I researched them since mine was only ounces. The Ozeri was $10 and top rated. It will be a lot easier than converting the ounces every time.0
