Day/Weight/Comment
6/27 Today’s weight: 192.4 going out of town today so tomorrow’s weight is not going to be good. Started this challenge with a 1.5 mile walk after dinner and a total of over 9000 steps for the day. Ate fairly healthy though my carbs were a bit over. Calories were good.
6/28 Today’s weight: 194.6 I knew this would happen. Restaurants are my weakness for sure! So much better to eat at home when you can!
6/29 Today’s weight: 192.4 Walked 10,332 steps yesterday. Followed my keto low carb diet very well. Restrained from the late night bingeing, but it was difficult. Used 2 squares of 90% cacao chocolate as my compromise. Bitter but better than nothing. Logged well. Drank my water, vinegar and tea. My blood sugar numbers were fantastic so my body probably loves me right now. I am proud I made it through another day successfully and that the scale reflected my sacrifices.
6/30 Today’s weight: 191.4. Walked 11,005 steps yesterday including work and home. Intermittent fasted for 16:8. No actual exercise or intended walk yesterday due to extreme weather so I am pleased with the scale. I followed my diet without any trouble and reached most of my macros though I was a smidgen low on protein. It’s going to be 100 degrees here in Northern Michigan today which is uncharacteristic of my area. We do not even have air conditioning so wish me well!
7/01 193.8 Went off course on diet yesterday due to heat. High sodium restaurant carry out since it was too hot to cook or even grill outside. Tons of water due to heat/thirst. I hope this will prove to be mainly water weight. Another hot day coming but I am hoping to do better today with meal planning. I got in 10,762 steps yesterday around the house working. I intermittent fasted 16:8. But otherwise, I pretty much blew it. More self-sabotage in the eating dept. and lots of water which is going nowhere with what I ate. I will be working hard on all this today despite more high 90’s degree weather expected.
7/02 194.6 My son’s birthday so what can I say? I intermittent fasted 16:8. I walked over 13,000 steps. I drank the water, the vinegar and the tea. But my diet was lousy. Binge, Binge. In the evening I came to my senses and started being very careful and I put in the walking. I hope tomorrow will be better.
7/03 191.6 whoosh! Yesssss….. I'm all over the place here but that's to be expected with this heat and water intake. I walked 13,583 steps yesterday walking 5.75 miles including a brisk 50 minute walk for exercise. Intermittent fasted 16:8. Lots of water again. Followed diet pretty carefully. I did have some chocolate at night during a binge attack but I tried to keep it reasonable. I don’t know why I’ve suddenly lost my willpower but I’m working on it. Just glad to see some of that water I’ve been drinking ( because of the heat ) finally release. Ah… There’s hope afterall for this challenge!
7/04 191.8 but a holiday BBQ is coming and I can feel the bloat already! I walked over 10,000 steps yesterday including my brisk 1.5 mile walk in the evening. Clung very well to my diet with little temptation. I was just too hungry to intermittent fast, but otherwise, yesterday was a good day. I know today will not be as sure as I know that I am human. Happy 4th Everyone !!!!
7/05 192.0 Whew not as bad as I thought it would be. I did over-indulge for the holiday. Yesterday I did manage to get in 10,430 steps. I Intermittent fasted 16:8. I drank plenty of fluids. I overate both calories and carbs. I’m back on on track for today! Praying I’ll be strong as my cravings are sometimes unbearable.
7/06 191.4 On the right track today. Did not meet my 189 goal. Total loss this challenge 1.0 pounds. Ready for the next round with same goals!

Love this challenge, the change is slow but can look back and see that there is progress. The slowness makes me value the progress even more and hesitate to risk losing it for some imaginary craving – I do find that generally it’s my emotions that “need/crave” something not my body.

Day/Weight/Comment
6/27 –Wednesday- 160.8 Well here goes – want to see those 159’s and get 3 areas cleaned up outside. So those should work together if I don’t get overtired and then decide I need/deserve a treat. I find MFP overrates gardening for calories unless you are digging or something like that so will not track it as exercise.
6/28 –Thursday- 160.4 Don’t feel I deserve this, very quick supper and then “finished” after came home from meeting but almost for sure over calories. Otherwise though a very profitable day.
6/29 –Friday- 160.8 Not so great but not too bad.
6/30 –Saturday- 161.2 So my food scale needs a new battery … two days of “I think I didn’t do too bad” and last night “definitely over” and here we are. Determined today will be different. Why do I act like it doesn’t count when I have no scale? Am I really planning to weigh food for the rest of my life?
7/01 –Sunday-
7/02 –Monday-
7/03 –Tuesday-
7/04 –Wednesday- 161.2 Two day trips with lots of driving – one to Fibrefest and bought hemp yarn instead of chocolate (quite a bit more expensive but hey, no calories) second to an all-day music practice. Both days eating out but tried to be careful. I did get a battery for the scale – all set to go for the rest of the month with no more trips (I think) but fun stuff to do so should be good for losing lb.
7/05 –Thursday- 161.4 Back to the not too bad but not careful enough. A day free today to work outside so should help.
7/06 –Friday- 162.4 - Awful, but shows what a careless eating, tired and no gym week will do. Oh well, off to the gym today. Scary what a little carelessness will do in my weight – but encouraging to know that carefulness will get me going the other direction. My friend, now fit for many years but once quite overweight, who got me going to the gym told me that she is always aware what’s going into her mouth. I’m thinking, “Really?? You always pay attention to what you’re eating? You don’t let yourself overindulge or just graze?” I think I’m finally getting what she was saying – She always is aware because it is worth it. It doesn’t mean she never has the stuff she loves but she counts the cost and eats less than she might feel like or less at another meal and keeps her exercise up. When I first met her, I assumed that she was a naturally slim, athletic type who never had to work at it – not at all, she has simply done the work and I hadn’t.8 -

Day/Weight/Comment
6/27--178.6 I feel like I'm off track the last several days. Need to make some adjustments.
6/28--177.4 Glad to see some downward progress. Last night I reevaluated my MFP goals. I had it set at 1 lb/week, sedentary (which I am), which gave me 1420 calories. I was really struggling with this. After fighting it for a few months now, I decided to change it to .5 lb/week. This gives me 1670 calories. Part of what was happening is I would go so far over my calories that I would just stop worrying about it. What's another 100 when you are already several hundred over? I'm hoping by having a more realistic goal it will keep me more accountable, because I will feel like I can actually meet it. Plus, even though I was set at 1 lb/week, it was really more like 1 lb/month, so .5/lb per week would make me perfectly happy. I don't really care how slow it is as long as its going down. The last round I felt like I was really starting to go the wrong direction. So, today is the first day I try to hit my new calorie goal!
6/29--177.8
6/30--175.8 This is probably a fluke and I'm dehydrated or something, but I'll take it!
7/01--176.4 Back on the hamster wheel. I'd rather be here than in the higher range I started this challenge with. Just ready to have a breakthrough!
7/02--175.8 Hello there, old friend. Pleased to see you today!
7/03--175.8 Two days in a row, unheard of! I feel like changing my calorie goal was the right decision, and its paying off. Although, I did eat ice cream last night even though I didn't have any calories left--but I did this knowing I could make it up the rest of the week. Went for a brisk 2-mile walk this morning and I feel great!
7/04--175.2 Going in the right direction!
7/05--175.2 Woohoo!!! I haven't seen this many 175s since 2014.
7/06 --174.2 WOWOWOWOWOW I weighed myself four times just to make sure. This has been my most successful round! Although, I just ate a big fat croissant that my coworker brought in so I may have temporarily sabotaged this number--but I am doing the happy dance!9 -

6/28 234.2 Still ate too much junk. Did better though. 280 in red/not into Maintenance though.
6/29 234 Slow slide, ended up eating lots of sweets/Van stopped working. Learning how important it is to have good snacks available. Also All-time high for heat where I live. Ice Cream made sense.
6/30 232.4 Pretty good day on Friday
7/01 233.4 I think water retention. Lots of yard work and errands. Eating was ok.
7/02 234.4 Helped family move, lots of carbs and salt not enough water. Probably too many calories. Sore as heck today.

Super busy weekend, ate within my range and ate healthy. Couldn’t get any workouts in at all these two days

Weight stabilizing and I feel great, so I guess this bump is fine. Worked out today and it was a good one. Have to focus on not having dinner too late. May not be able to reach goal of 119 this round.
7/03 - 120.2
Yay! Let’s see if it holds. Pushed myself hard yesterday during workout and ate really well. Worked out today too but took it easier today.

Yay! Finally tiny bit loss! Super happy to be under 120, even if it is barely 😂 Again, fingers crossed for this to stick. Worked out tomorrow and ate at a sushi place! But super healthy and yummy food there and was within my calorie budget for the day. I need to get more/better sleep. I think that plays a huge role in my weight loss progress. guess the last 10 lbs is the hardest to loose! I have to keep at it though and not get demotivated with the slower loss.
See you all in round 46!!

6/27 - 154.6 - Up a little from yesterday but not worried, muscles are a little sore today from working out so might be holding on to some water, feeling a little heavy this morning. Food, water and steps were all good yesterday so not going to stress about this slight gain.
6/28 - 154.2
6/29 - 152.6 - whoop! whoop!!
6/30 - 152.6 - Now to not screw it up at the pig roast tonight. I've got this.
7/01 - 153.2 - slight blip, not worried. It's either from sore muscles or the cherry vodka and lemonades I had last night. Was good about the food yesterday at the pig roast though so won't be expecting to see this number stick around. A little slow on getting moving today but about to go get a workout in and then a nice swim in the pool. Suppose to be 94 degrees here today so lots of water for me.
7/02 - 154.6 - It sucks to see this number but it's alright I know I got good exercise this weekend (sore muscles) and my eating wasn't terrible. I've noticed this trend before and I know what I need to do to get back on track so I just need to focus today, workout and drink plenty of water.
7/03 - 154.0 - Heading back in the right direction. Most likely won't make my goal this round, just want to get back to my start weight at this point.
7/04 - 155.0 - late dinner, late weigh in, every muscle in my body hurts. So frustrated with the number on the scale. I've been pushing it when it comes to workouts lately so hoping it might be some muscle gain and not the chips I ate last night.
7/05 - 154.0 - I've worked out for 6 days straight now which I haven't done in a really long time so I'm hoping that's why I've stopped continuously losing weight like I have been for the past few rounds. Not letting the number get me down though, it's just a number and I can see results in the mirror and in the way my clothing fits so I'm excited for my monthly measurements which is here in a few days.
7/06 - 154.0 - Can't lose every round right? But did I really need to gain?! Looking forward to a better round starting tomorrow!6 -

I’m doing what I should foidwise & steps are a bit low. Heat is not my friend!! All will be fine. Trend wt down 1/2 a pound
On to Round 46!
Next Goals: 1. Average weight for July 166.4 (-2lbs) or lower
2. Average step goal for July > 8K
3. 10-day trend moving avg decreasing or maintaining for July!4 -
I start this round still in the throes of my sugar addiction. I'm doing Keto in every way, except I've had a dessert item every day for the last 10 or so. Trying to break the cycle.

Day/Weight/Comment
6/27 = 192.0 (+0.6), BF% = 15.4 (no change). Had some dark chocolate chips last night after dinner, so my streak, and the struggle of addiction, continues (had too much, they weren't that "dark"). Haven't been getting enough sleep. I have a "sort of" job interview today; I meet with two people, and based on my meeting I will be "banded" (placed in a category) that will determine my "priority" for getting an interview. I'm tired. Going to need eyedrops and caffeine. I was falling asleep at work yesterday. I should be able to catch up on sleep tonight. Perhaps I'll go to the gym after work, depending on how I'm feeling. My two pound drop on my last weigh-in was likely dehydration, so this number is okay. I really want to break this sugar cycle. Going to try to stay mindful today. I just decided to throw away the chocolate chips. And I just threw them away.
6/28 = 190.2 (-1.8), BF% = 15.3 (-0.1). BWHOOSH™. I only THOUGHT I threw my chocolate chips away at the end of my most recent post (above). I looked in the fridge last night after dinner (and a great day of eating overall), and they were there. They were calling me. I grabbed them, had a couple, and remembered what I posted the day before about my intention to throw them away. So I did. Right in the trash can. I'm going to call that my first step. This weight equals my all-time (more than 25 years) low. I got here a couple of weeks ago, but I've still never had a weigh-in below 190. Today I'm going to focus on eating mindfully, so I can break that plateau. I don't want sugar, so I'm not going to eat it. There's no basketball tonight, but I'm going to commit to going to the gym (full workout) either tonight or tomorrow (my rotating day off, every other Friday). I'm also going to play basketball on Saturday (my first time in almost 3 weeks). I feel like I'm getting back on track.
6/29 = 189.4 (-0.8), BF% = 15.2 (-0.1). I cheated a little bit. Today is my day off, and my weigh-in was a LITTLE later than usual. But I'm still going to take this as a victory (189.x). I did a good job eating yesterday, and I had NO SWEETS WHATSOEVER. Somehow I survived. I'm going to the gym this morning to lift weights, I'm gonna hang out with my Pops after that for a couple of hours, then I'm going to the movies with my brother, his wife, and my niece. Later I'm going to have a drink with my wife and some crazy food that I will try to (I believe I can) keep Keto. I'm going to do my best to budget some calories for tonight, and I will go for a bourbon drink (rather than beer). I'm back to feeling more settled. I think my relapse might be over. It's not time to relax, but I think I can take things down from DEFCON 2 to DEFCON 4.
6/30 = 190.0 (+0.6), BF% = 15.2. Sorry for the late post. I controlled myself pretty well at the bar. Two drinks, stuck with Keto-friendly foods. Basketball happened today, but I'll talk about that tomorrow!
7/01 = 190.8 (+0.8), BF% = 15.2. Basketball was decent, but I hurt my knee a bit. I'll stay off of it until next Saturday. I did "pretty well" at the bar, but I had a couple of drinks, which likely dehydrated me a bit and left me with a weight that is likely under-reporting (I should be heavier, based off my eating). I ate Keto-friendly, but I am finding it hard to portion-control when I'm out and about at a place I really love. I almost go into it purposely not thinking about portion-control, when I could EASILY plan out what I'm going to eat (based off of familiarity with the menu). I'm writing this on Monday morning; if you read this, you'll recognized that I didn't learn any lessons from THIS post (because I'm about to write the other one right now.
7/02 = 193.8 (+3.0), BF% = 15.6 (+0.4). I went to this "thing" last night in the LA area; it was basically a "fair" without any of the rides/games/animals. It was all food, like 100 different booths/trucks. It was insane, and it was all food, all day. I did my best to stick with Keto-friendly things for the most part, but volume of food was a definite issue. I'm sure I didn't eat 3 lbs worth of food (for my lovely weight gain), but I had a moment of weakness with the sweets. Going to this place was a really bad idea, particularly at this stage in my "recovery" from sugar. I'm going to see if I can get RIGHT BACK ON TRACK today, rather than creating another two-week relapse like I had very recently. See previous post for insights I SHOULD have had already. Cut-to-the-chase, when I'm going out to a favorite restaurant, I need to think about portion-control BEFORE I step foot in the place. I'm allowing myself to over-eat, even if I'm generally sticking pretty well with Keto-friendly foods (minus my 10-minute lapse at the food-fair).
7/03 = 193.0 (-0.8), BF% = 15.5 (-0.1). I'm a little confused at how I could gain 2.1% body fat in 2 days, but I'll report it as-is until I figure it out. Yesterday was better for eating. I'm paying on the scale for the sins of my Saturday/Sunday. Trying to keep my head on straight. I'm feeling strangely discouraged by my BF% reading, even though I'm pretty sure it's impossible.
7/04 = 192.0 (-1.0), BF% = 15.4 (-0.1). My scale stopped being obnoxious. I re-entered my BF% for the past couple of days, estimating high, and I'm feeling better. Today is going to be a tough day food- and drink-wise, but I'll try to manage. I do have some GREAT news, though. I have this very foo-foo grocery store near my place (called Erewhon, I think... I can never spell it right and have no idea how to pronounce it). Never mind. Google just decided it for me (I checked). er-uh-hwon. Whatever. They have Keto-friendly desserts! And they're delicious! I checked every ingredient; they definitely work! I even found a beer with less than 1 carb (and no sugar alcohols or anything). It wasn't great, but things like this can make me feel normal (when I need to). Not an every day thing, but certainly a better choice than what my brain was craving. I'll be ecstatic if I can end this round at my SW, but I'll be okay even if I don't. I've decided to significantly increase my exercise regimen to try to break through the 190.00 barrier. I've been a little lazy with working out, and I'm going to remedy that.
7/05 = 196.6 (+4.6), BF% = 15.9 (+0.5). I lost it yesterday. All the stuff I talked about 2-3 days ago went out the window. 4.6 lbs in one day is a record for me. I'm going to the gym today. I'm going to eat clean today. Way too much bouncing this challenge (and last, really). I'm finding it a little hard to be self-reflective right now, and I'm finding it a lot easier blaming other people instead. I'm responsible for what goes in my mouth... no one else is. I "felt" full most of yesterday (not even a little bit hungry), yet I grazed most of the day (when food was shoved in my face). I could have easily skipped dinner, as I just wasn't hungry. I really need to get back to what I talked about previously: eating intentionally (meal-planning, really) on days that I'm in temptation situations (parties, barbeques, etc.). When I don't have structure, I'm in trouble. It's my fault. No one's helping me, but it's my fault. MEH. Time to stop the bleeding. Temporary zero-tolerance policy regarding sweets (even the "Keto-friendly" ones). I just can't be trusted around them right now.
7/06 = 196.4 (-0.2), BF% = 15.9 (no change). I was hoping for a bigger drop, but it is what it is. I got a little out of control (2 servings of almonds) with healthy snacks last night before my wife got home. I need to remember that the full effect of my gluttony usually takes a few days to wear off. Looking back at this challenge, it was definitely a challenge. I'm going to keep moving forward; no sweets this week, planning any meals "out" before I get to where I'm going (prepping my own food, or choosing in advance what I'm going to eat and how much I'm going to eat). With a bit of a whimper, on to the next challenge.

6/27- 194.0
6/28- 193.9- Ate rice today for lunch. NEED TO STOP. No more rice for the next 8 days. No more dilly-dallying, I really want to get out of the 190s. I want it to happen in these ten days! Hope this doesn't make my weight go up again!
6/29- 194.5- Lol it did
6/30- 194.5- Feel like I'm in a weird rut. Tomorrow's a new day!
7/01- 195.0- It's okay. I know this will go down tomorrow lol. I had a lot of salt the previous day but I did well today so I'm expecting to see results lol
7/02- 196.1- lol what is going on. stop.
7/03- 194.2- phew lol. Need to keep going! Will eat well today and workout. Need to see results tomorrow
7/04- 193.4- glad it's still going down! Will eat well today as well. So far breakfast was nice and healthy. Filling and low in calories. I didn't actually get a workout in yesterday but will do today since I'm off from school.
7/05- 194.1- I ate at deficit but more than I wanted to today so hopefully the scale goes down a little tomorrow? I don't know but we'll see. I guess it's still a loss.
7/06- 194.4- okay so at least I lost overall but one downfall is that I don't follow through with my plans sometimes so I need to make sure to preplan and then follow through exactly and nothing more. Honestly, the messing up comes from not being SURE about what I'll eat for dinner. I kind of wing it and it doesn't always work perfectly. Good to adjust for in the next round.

6/28....179....got a new scale today and my fears were correct. The old one was broken and super inaccurate. So bummed.
6/29...179....trudging along. Staying on track with the tracking but didn't meet my step goal for the day. Was on the road most of it.
6/30.....178....down 1lb!!!! Woohoo!! Haha! Some shift is better than none!!!
7/01....178....again today. Played basketball with the fam yesterday, hauled 50lb sacks of feed around, and made it past my step goal last night. Looking forward to what today brings
7/02.....179... sadness. Whined to hubby about only loss being an inch off the bust so far. Feel like I'm working hard only to get a pear shaped body as a "reward." Frustrating. He says he sees a difference but I'm not seeing it.
7/03.....178.... trudging along! I'm still tired because of the anemia thing, but do feel better at my core. Get to go in for another round of blood work next week. Looking forward to getting the underlying health weirdness in check. Been hoping ditching all this extra fat will help with the hormone issues. Just a bit frustrating when my numbers don't want to budge. Been studiously tracking and exercising. Eventually it will pay off.
7/04.....176... ya, baby!!!! Had to weigh twice just to make sure it wasn't a glitch 😂 it's insanely hot but I'm drinking tons and trying hard to stay within my mfp calorie allowance. Went over yesterday by about 200 calories and didn't reach my daily step goal, but got an hour of shooting hoops with my youngest in.
7/05.....179... 😩 oh the frustration! Scale, why?!? Feeling crummy today.
7/06.....178... ya. Not sure what to believe. Slept most of the day away. Felt like hammered dog poo
7/07......174... still skeptical. I've got my eye on that scale. I'll believe what I see if I get a few more days at this weight. But I have to admit- it IS exciting to see the scale move down.
Rnd 45 loss: 5lbs. Looking forward to the next round of ups and downs.4 -
Love the thought of this challenge..this will be my first time and hopefully I can keep up. I am weighting in at 186.6..I am going out tonight with friends and hopefully I can keep my calories down to weigh in again tomorrow at the same or less. Good luck everyone.2
