Ask me anything.
Or I'll ask you to start. What do you think makes a "real woman"?
Thread idea from captainfantastic01's thread, and some vintage ads I ran into today that made me laugh.

Vintage ads like that make me laugh - I saw one once that was a Christmas advert and it said something like, "buy her the gift you can BOTH appreciate" and it was for a damn vacuum
Or the old ads that said, have a drink ready when he gets home, food on the table, do not disturb him bc he has had a hard day..blah blah blah.1 -
This was a real article3 -

Not yet. Should I be?OK - I have a question for you--

I have no idea. I don't think it's attractive and I don't make duck faces in my photos. Just smile, people! Why are romantic movies full of so many toxic relationship ideals?
I'd guess most everyone has been in a toxic relationship at some point or another, so they can relate to the characters. Also people tend to stop for car crashes. Movies aren't any different.0 -

For instance not taking no for an answer, in almost every romantic movie, the guy gets rejected at first, but keeps trying, eventually to "win" the girl over. The worst example of this is the Notebook, where he threatens to commit suicide unless the girl goes out with him.2 -

Sometimes I run a bath for him. Actually he ran a bath for me a few minutes ago, so I'm going to abandon this thread for a while and enjoy a book and a glass of wine.sugaraddict4321 wrote: »DeadliftsAndSprinkles wrote: »Vintage ads like that make me laugh - I saw one once that was a Christmas advert and it said something like, "buy her the gift you can BOTH appreciate" and it was for a damn vacuum

A friend actually received a Dyson when it came out the first time for her birthday. We were all shocked, when he'd entered ceremoniously to gift it to her. She burst into tears. He had the audacity to challenge her and say, "You expected jewelry? A Mercedes? First the house.". Jerk!4
