“Wk 16: 4/01 - 177 Inflammation from carbs, which was refrigerated dough crescent rolls. I don't even like the way they taste. Yet I ate 3! What is going on with me?”
We’ve all done the same. I haven’t been able to have those in the house for 25 years. They contain the Deadly Triangle ie fat, salt, sugar. Now, whenever I crave something, I count how many of the 3 it contains.
Cheese: “salty fat”
Pastry: Deadly 🔺
Mac & Cheese: Deadly 🔺
Ice Cream: Deadly🔺
I only keep non Deadly 🔺 foods in our home. So I have cheese, but not ice cream.
Each of us figures it out our own Achilles Heels over time, as long as we persist & force ourselves tone mindful & aware!
My big aha recently was realizing my sodium was 1.5-2 times as high as 1-2 months ago.
Fiber was half.
Sat fat was up.
Veggies were down.
Calories In was up. Exercise was up.
Cal Deficit was down.
I had to force myself to “wake up & look” at that data.
I know I’ll need to keep tabs on this forever, but at least I know that now. Happy to do so to feel healthy & to be healthy.
“Still struggling through the rest of this day with a swollen knee and stiff joints. I am getting my exercise in though.”
“Can't quit.” No, you can’t.
“Won't quit.” No, you never will! I know that about you.
Tish, I know you’ve stepped up muscle building exercise, as have I. I think this has been at play for me. My weight is up slightly, but my clothes fit better & my body definitely looks better.
