This is my first time contributing to this thread - I've been in maintenance for a few months now and am still figuring things out!
Name: missperfectpitch
Height: 5'4"
Total weight lost: About 43 pounds
Time it took to lose: 1 year and 2 months (with a few vacations and diet breaks thrown in there)
How long in maintenance: I hit my goal weight in the beginning of January but was still fluctuating a bit and figuring out calories for a couple of months, so I consider myself to have officially started maintenance in mid-March, when I settled on a calorie # that seems to be working.
Maintenance weight range: 108-111.5
Average weight recorded from January: 110.6
Average weight recorded from February: 109.5
Average weight recorded from March: 109.0

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Mainly some struggles over the past few weeks/months, as my average/trend weight has been creeping up a bit. My water weight fluctuations seem to be a lot more during maintenance than they were when I was losing weight, so although I know that I'm probably not really gaining weight, it is still sometimes frustrating to see higher weights on the scale some days. I'm thinking that it may be a combination of water weight from high sodium/carb intake (both of which I tend to eat a lot of), but I might also retain more water in the hotter months, as my calorie intake and activity levels have been very consistent since March. Either way, I'm still proud of where I am now and am still learning a lot about maintenance.9 -

Success and Struggles - I have been getting slightly more sleep and more exercise lately. I was feeling dizzy for a week or so, and I realized that my B vitamin complex is the culprit. Very relieved that it isn't something serious. My struggle is once again with food this week. I just find that I am gravitating toward empty calorie foods instead of wholesome ones. Also, I've been moving away from meals and doing more snacking. Not good. Time to recommit to tracking every morsel. I also need to get the snack foods out of my house.6 -

Name: Faebert
Age: 39
Height: 5’6
Total Weight lost: 47lbs
Time it took to lose: on and off 3 years. First 30 in 4 months and then gradually reduced goal weight
How long in maintenance: 14 months
Maintenance weight range: 115-120
Average weight recorded from 2017 (12months): 121
Average weight recorded from July: 112.75
Week of 10th August: 110.25
Struggles: Was away on holiday from 21st July to 6th August with no weighing scales, food scales, lots of eating out and without a lot of my maintenance “staples” like my protein shake. Took resistance bands with me to replace dumbbells in my usual routine and had a hard time getting to grips with them (no pun intended). It was a bit of an exercise in intuitive eating but I think I erred on the side of caution too much as I managed to drop some weight while away. And in truth I found it quite uncomfortable at times being without my usual crutches but I did my best to loosely log/track. Still not quite in a relaxed place with maintenance.
Successes: I have kept up the daily activity. On the couple of days I couldn’t do a full workout I got in a lovely walk along the beach path up to the marina and back (8km). Have managed to get back into my workouts at home without noticing a big change in strength or fitness. I enjoyed lots of gorgeous fresh fruit, salads (there is nothing like Mediterranean tomatoes in summer!) and seafood. And although I was perhaps a little strict with myself at times I did have some ice cream, frozen yoghurt, lots of fried calamari and a few other treats so it was a good reminder that it is possible to stay well within goal while enjoying a variety of food.
So next steps, stay mindful and balanced for the rest of the summer holidays until return to work next month. Maybe try and gain a little to make sure I’m reliably in healthy BMI range. Sorry for the essay!11 -

Success/struggles of the week: Back from vacation -- and I am happily (VERY happily) only 1/2 pound up from when we left! It wasn't even that hard....just had to concentrate on moving and did lots of morning walks and afternoon swims. Nightly dinners centered around good food and glass of wine -- and even got to indulge in occasional desserts -- Blueberry Pie is a family favorite on vacation! Back to work (I teach at a college) next week --so that will give me much more structure to my day -- I find I eat the same things Mon. -Fri. when I am working centering around protein because I have a full day schedule and I need to stay "on my game." So, as much as I hate to see the summer close out, I do look forward to getting back to work and to students and to the structure it gives my day. Have good weeks everyone!8 -

First of all welcome to all the new maintainers. Even at 10 months in it still feels a little strange and new.
I haven't been posting here a lot but have been continuing to lurk and read everyone's updates.
Success/Struggles: just the normal ones we all have I guess. I feel like holding in my range is a GIANT success so far. I do find that I have NOT been keeping up all the data that I did at first when I started maintenance - sort of freeing myself from some of the strict things we do in losing. But continuing to loosely log and loosely weigh seems to be working to keep me on track.8 -
I thought I posted my weekly maintenance levels on Monday, Aug. 6 but I don't see them here on this thread. Any ideas??

Sometimes I get a long response written, go to post and click on a button other than "Post Reply", especially on the website. Maybe that's what happened? So frustrating!2 -

Successes & Struggles: Not very happy to see this weight so high as I head on vacation. Hoped to have a buffer few pounds, but that obviously did not happen.
I have been very consistent in my strength training all year so I’m hopeful that my weight which remains the same since April actually shows some progress in appearance, but I can’t tell these things. I probably won’t be able to strength train in vacation, but should have more opportunities for cardio, so hopefully I can enjoy the time and not gain too much.
Broken toe is still fragile, but certainly mending. Black eye happened last night (a serious of ridiculousness that included bedtime, a crooked cover, a cat fight in the bed and my husband’s KNEE colliding with my eye socket. Couldn’t make this stuff up. Lol.) So swim goggles are currently a no go so no pre-vacation swim for me.
Best Wishes to alll, I might be gone for a couple weeks depending upon my cell coverage.11 -

I totally understand your 'buffer' concept. Enjoy your vacay. Maybe the relaxing will help relieve, what I know you do: constantly consider (for lack of using the word 'worry') how many cals you have had, have I exercised enough, I hope I don't gain, thoughts.
IMO, you have done great to get where you are from averaging 175. I'm where you are, 177, can't seem to budge anything right now. So, I decided it just may be time to live with 177 and maintain and be happy. More may come off in a few months if I STOP the stressing!!! Blessings for a safe trip4 -

Successes/struggles of the week: Ate a bit more this week with a real focus on protein so I could meet my strength goals (failed to meet last week). Was very pleased with the results as I successfully increased the weight on almost all my compound lifts by 5-10#.
Training for an ultramarathon trail run next month and my favorite new OCR - a 10 mile Tough Mudder in October. Will throw in a 5k road race (paw prints 5k for charity) with my dog and a 5k OCR with the hubby before the year is over as well. Lots of variety. Feeling very fulfilled with my fitness goals at the moment - lots of balance between strength, endurance, mindfulness and unity.
Have a great week everyone!9 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My first week using MyFitnessPal and I am liking it. I was a long time WW and maintain at 125 for 7 years then started to slowly lose weight. Was diagnosed with IBS, put on a FODMAP diet and still was losing. WW doesn't count calories so didn't realize that I was not eating enough calories, therefore, the switch to MyFitnessPay. Also I learned here that I'm not getting enough protein and I'm eating too many carbs so I'll work on that too.7 -

BUT...
Weighed 145.2 on August 3 when I left an 145.0 on August 11 when I returned, so let's call it 145.1. Right on!
Success of the week:
Had an amazing SCUBA trip where I ate and drank at will; didn't gain an ounce. Saw so many species of fish and invertebrates, and had great times on the boat between dives and in the evening with the rest of the folks on the trip. Yes!
Struggle of the week:
I had to get off the dive boat after five days and drive through the smoke to get home after an awesome dive trip. I'm ready to go back! Well, after my gear dries.
