Hi everyone-- I'm a lurker here, and a LT WW member, but MFP may be a better community in some ways. Any tips and hints on building some healthy muscles for this little old lady I'm becoming pfff!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: success: Recovering from gall bladder surgery and back to walking! Struggles: Wine! Enjoy this, but obviously have to imbibe in moderation! Also-- tortilla chips at Tex-Mex restaurants, which in Houston are everywhere and delicious!7 -

Success: Back to running 2 - 3 days a week (indoors on treadmill)
Struggles: Haven't been able to ride my bike for weeks now because of the heat and smoke. I really miss it!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I've lost some of the water weight that I've been dealing with lately, which is a relief. Trendweight seems to lag a few days though, so I'm mostly paying attention to actual weight instead. I'm trying to stay consistent with exercise and getting my steps in, and have been successful with those.9 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: A loss whilst maintaining, Didn’t expect that !!! . Think I need to up my calories a little and a little less cardio. I don’t want to up calories if I’m honest and I love my workouts every morning. Tips anyone ??7 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: a success is continued meal planning. Also, I made a new recipe with cottage cheese in egg salad. It’s a good way to get more protein in. A struggle has been exercise. I haven’t gotten to the gym or taken my dog for walks. I’ve really let the hot humid weather get me down.7 -

Success: Walked 25 miles at work in 4 business days. Moved 400lbs on Printer Equipment 2/3 of a mile during some of that walking. Good Exercise.
Struggle: Friday was a low energy day. Didn't do too much due to all the walking earlier in the week.10 -

@baggyboy1878 If you are still losing weight you will either need to cut down on the exercise or eat more calories. It can be hard to change your mindset from losing to not losing, but you need to balance out your CI and you CO if you are going to maintain. You can try adding some fats like avocado to foods or add back in dressings and mayo or butter. If you are using low fat dairy switch to the full fat. That way you can add calories without adding a lot of volume.10 -

Success: lost a pound this week, so 2 pounds in 12 days. That is sloooowwww. Really got familiar with MFP and thanks to so many who have given me advice. I changed my macros to Protein 20; fat 30 and Carbs 50%. I feel more energetic. School started so I haven't been walking and have only done weights 2/7 days
Struggle: Meeting my calorie goal while keeping my macros in check and on track. Have a great week everyone!4 -

Success and Struggles - I am slightly above my range right now and not feeling good about it. I guess I can take some comfort in the fact that the source of the gain is not mysterious. I have been eating a few hundred calories extra during the last few weeks. I wouldn't say that my eating was out of control, but I was doing more snacking than usual. Fortunately, I am taking steps now to get back in range. My husband is also trying to curtail his snacking and watch his portions. This makes the process much easier. It is kind of interesting: years ago I would have been terrified of getting on the scale if I'd thought I'd gained. I used to just let the weight come back on and not address it -- or worse, I would react to a gain with emotional eating. Although I am not happy about my recent gain, I feel so much calmer responding to it.13 -
@g_anson -- I am older than you -- 60 yrs. old -- and I have truly never had a better body than I have now! It is because of losing weight, for sure, but mostly it's because I started doing power yoga (I do Baptiste yoga -- if you can find a Baptiste studio, try it!) and we do flow yoga (we move a lot!) for 60 -75 mins. in around 90 degrees. I sweat (I love it!) and I have muscles (!!) and no flab on my arms, strong legs, and I'm getting some decent abs. I try to do it 3-4 times per week -- it's the consistency that I think really makes the difference -- and in yoga, there's no judgment and there's real encouragement. I can't tell you how good it make me feel, and how much more energy I have. Good luck on finding what motivates you! Do something that makes you sweat everyday!4

Hi all, sorry I was away! Smokes and lots of extra working hours the last few weeks in northern CA. I stopped logging even, didn't have time or energy or atmospheric conditions to work out, and scared myself a little when the numbers went up, but buckling back into maintenance now. I will post my current status tomorrow, that's the goal.5

I haven't checked in for a while. No purging, but calorie/food/exercise obsession still happening. I'm working with a very nice counselor and trying to be "willing to be willing" to face my fears, change my negative thinking, and write about what's going on.
