8/16- 222.0 Weighed at regular time this AM. Holding steady. Work function today and made poor food choices. Definitely will reflect on the scale in the morning.

8/23- 221.6 Realized my last post was off on days because I didn’t account for the 2 days I didn’t log. No idea why the number went down as my trend during AF’s visit is a gain during and a few days after. This round isn’t looking to great but I will see it through.

8/16- Did to much outside, and made my face swell I am having a hard time cutting down from steroids. Walking helps alot!
8/17- My steps were down today. Lack of sleep has been hard on me. I start my cut backs again so I don't take one steroid today and then tomorrow I take one they are very hard on me. I can hardly wait to be done with them.
8/18 - Still having a rough day! Goal for tomorrow going, outdoor a long walk! I don't know if cutting back steroids is making me swell n my face. But I have to go Monday to the doctors.
8/19 Feeling a lot better today. Walking steps 11,258. Eating healthier today.
8/20_ Went to the Cancer Hospital today had an appointment with my team doctor, I am doing 100%. She said I owe to keeping up with my normal day, Started my treatments the end of June and today included no symptoms at all. My test EEG brain waves was perfect which means no seizures. Now I am done there ,until November for MRI. I am very fortunate.
8/21- Been doing great for walking , I have been trying to push harder each day. I went on my treadmill today kept
going just like before I had surgery in March. I have to get my weight down again, hopefully next week once
I am finished my steroids.
8/22 Trying to get my steps up, did lots of walking today. Eating healthy!
8/23- Had lots of swelling in my face and all the way up my throat. Still managed to get my steps over 10,000.
8/24- Did lots of walking today. Completed most of the week over 11,500 steps. Had my longest sleep last night, 10:45 - 4:00am

A good day. Tracked everything, made good choices with my lunch compared to what I would normally get. Was mindful with my eating and talked to a friend of mine who is a big source of support. Planning my meals for tomorrow so I don't get tempted at work!

Good day overall where my food is concerned. Realised it was TOTM today (ugh) but stayed away from all temptations! I sometimes forget I'm doing this properly so nearly have a lapse in memory and head to the snacks! So far so good though. Day 4 of healthy eating completed.. feeling grateful!

Stayed on track and stayed mindful! Feel bloated and gross but hoping it will pass soon. day 5 rocked and I even drank a lot more water than I usually do!

Another good day, I am still proud of myself for sticking to it and making good choices. I really hope that the scales show a nice loss ... sure, I am happy with what I've done but I also want to *see* results on the scales....even though it's just a number...etcetcetc.... 17/08: 208.4 lbs … last morning at the hotel … final leg this afternoon.
18/08: 207.8 lbs … first weigh in back home → not a disaster! Overall gain of 2 lbs in 2 weeks
19/08: 207.2 lbs … getting better … Keep going DOWN please!
20/08: 206.2 lbs … wow! This is a quick post road-trip recovery! :sweat smile:
21/08: 205.6 lbs … okay, so eating out for 2 weeks = water weight I guess!!

23/08: 206.4 lbs … That’s ok, and totally expected after a night out.

This is a long term thing, a few bad days or weeks is something I'm getting better at coping with.

Well, I feel as though, after one week, that not only is the Road Tip behind me -> along with all the excess weigh, be in water weight or what ever, but that my weight is moving down. I don't want to jinx it ... I just want a nice consistent R51 that ends with a good loss

Hello! I was last part of the group during my pregnancy. Now my little one is 4 months old and I lost MFP access/ID until now- just made a new one. I went through the wringer with the birth and dropped the pregnancy weight extremely rapidly due to how unwell I was. Now I’ve plateaued and the real (careful) work begins! I was maintaining 135 for years before my health problems started.
Goals- rebuild muscle mass and pelvis stability. Be able to walk the dog. Stretch. Lose fat without compromising milk supply. Find libido.

8/16 85.6kg (+0.1kg) That's really fine after a 7 ounce lost overnight! I'm thinking of slowing down the weightloss, since I don't need to loose too much more weight (about 6kg/13lbs). On the other side, things go well and it isn't very hard on me to eat less. So not sure yet. I'm leaving in 4 weeks on a 3 week trip to Botswana and Namibia in Africa. Maybe I'll just continue till then the way I do now and slow down after the my vacation.... And how knows...... maybe I just don't wanna stop at 79 kilo's

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

I'm trying to shift the holiday kilos and then some, to get back to my usual maintenance weight.
This round I'll be focusing on:- getting my head around restricting calories again
- no snacking except the pre-logged snacks
- no alcohol

8/17 - 66.2kg - another good day, routine is kicking back in
8/18 - 66.2kg - all good again yesterday, need to up the water though. Weekend's here, must stick to plan.
8/19 - 66.0kg - social gathering yesterday and said no to all the fingerfood, cake and free wine - woooo!
8/20 - 65.9kg - struggled terribly yesterday, needed all my willpower to stick with it. Feeling positive again now though
8/21 - 65.7kg - slow and steady wins the race, fingers crossed I can keep this rate going
8/22 - 65.5kg - very happy with this
8/23 - 65.2kg - this round is going better than expected, holiday weight is definitely gone, now onto the remainder few kgs...
8/24 - 65.4kg - TOM's arrived to spoil the party, but that's alright. Planning on attacking the bloat with lots of water today

8/16 - 256...did fairly well yesterday, stayed just under calories and had a good amount of water. Only went for one small walk though. I'm not good in heat and it was hot and humid here..my body was feeling extra heavy and tired because of it. I had a huge craving for ice cream before bed but managed to keep myself from having it...yay! Lol
8/17 - 257.2...was not able to keep from having my cravings yesterday. Went quite a bit over in calories and had a lot of salty and sweet. TOM came around though so the cravings make sense. No exercise at all yesterday either, it was just too hot and humid, and my little guy has the flu so it was a lazy day. Back on track again today though.
8/18 - 256...did water fitness in the morning and weight training and cardio at night. Ate all of my calories plus about 1/2 of my exercise ones.
8/19 - 256...bad day yesterday. I've gotten my sons cold and I used it as an excuse to eat everything in sight. I'm starting to feel like a broken record...good day/bad day/good day/bad day. I wanted to be out of the 250's by the end of this round or at least the end of the month but if I keep doing this that will never happen
8/20 - 255...had an okay day. Went over calories but only by a little, less than 100. Didn't get any exercise though. I got dressed to go to the gym last night but was just to tired, went to bed instead.
8/21 - 255
8/22 - 254...no idea why my weight is going down. In the last couple of days my eating has been terrible and I haven't done any exercise. I'll take it, though its probably not real.

I had started this round very motivated but then life happened and I wasn't able to do my workouts as planned...and that sent me completely off the rails again. I seem to have a real issue of giving up if everything isn't going as I had planned. I really need to work on this!

8/18- 160.2lbs I weighed first thing this morning & was so happy to see this number. I was in disbelief & stepped off & on about 5 times no lie just to see the same number appear. But after 20 mins I decided to weigh again just to be sure 🙄 & it read 161.2lbs 😭 so I dont know which one to go by hoping the lower number is correct of course. So if the lower number is correct I’m officially down to pre pregnancy weight. But a huge goal for me will be to get out of the 60s because from grade 10(I think age 15/16) to 22 I been 160 - 165lbs. So it would be amazing to finally see number that’s not in the 60s
8/19- 162lbs😒 hmm I was feeling so disappointed when I saw this number this morning. Earlier today not so good, I ate things I knew I shouldn’t have. But I did manage to stop myself from binge eating. For dinner I’m going to take things light with chicken and some steamed veg

8/24- 158.8lbs I’m so happy, I’m moving in the right direction. Just need to lose .8 ounces to meet my goal for this round. & only 10lbs away from being in a healthy bmi range.
8/25- 158.8lbs very pleased with my results first round. The beginning was a slow process but I’m happy I made it to the end.

This round I'm focused again on following an anti-inflammatory diet. Holding steady or losing - both work for me!
Goals:
Food ~~ 1430 calories max; P 15-25%, C 35-50%, F 25-35%; anti-inflammatory diet.
Exercise: 60 minutes/day of walking/swimming + daily stretching.
Weight ~~ maintain or lose slowly.

I was stunned to see this number this morning! It's the lowest I've been in probably 3 decades (though I was just slightly more 2 years ago, before I did a metabolism reset). I don't know that it will stick -- my calories were artificially low yesterday as I had to fast 12 hours for early morning blood work -- but still!!! It's a rainy Friday here, but I'm hurting slightly less and feeling much more hopeful after seeing the integrative doctor yesterday. I'm hoping to work on my home (only!) office today and then shop for a standing (adjustable) desk -- I'm finally feeling like getting back to work on my next book. Have a lovely weekend, all!

My actual weight is dancing around a bit, but my moving average is steadily dropping -- it's now 143.1. Yay! At least something worthwhile has come of my medical misadventure. One of the things I'm now doing religiously (rather than haphazardly like before) is to practice daily stress-control, including mediation, listening to music that lifts me up, and reading/listening to VERY little news. Oh, and cuddling my lovely Lily helps a lot. She would even let me chew her bone if I wanted to.

I'm starting on an extra strength dose of curcumin today per my new doctor (since I have declined to take prednisone, at least for now). Hoping it brings down the inflammation & pain. (I'm using Terry's Naturally brand Curamin Extra Strength.) Anyone have experience with it? I'll say one thing - I'm glad don't still have those extra 75 pounds weighing on my sore joints. If you're aiming to lose significant weight, keep at it - the result are worth the effort on so many levels!

I had a soba bowl and apple for lunch and a pear, 2 dried figs, & 2 dried apricots around 3 and wasn't hungry again, but I ate some peanutbutter around 9 so my calories wouldn't be 800 something I'm not crazy about cals in the 1000s, either, but sometimes I'm just full. Must be all the fiber in the extra veggies!

Whoa - I expected a drop, but not this much. I'll take it! This is the lowest I've been in decades, and it's been well worth the ups & downs of the journey. The biggest differences in what I'm eating now on the anti-inflammatory diet vs. what I was eating are nothing made with flour (thought I do eat whole grains), almost no dairy (I do have a little kefir in the morning), and no beef or pork. I'm also not pain free (yet), but feel considerably better without NSAIDs since I started taking Curamin on Monday. Feeling optimistic about killing this "thing" without prednisone. I'm looking forward to a nice weekend - lunch today with a friend, quiet evening, UU women's retreat tomorrow afternoon, and a quiet Sunday. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

8/20 280.8 +0.8 today. Hmmm.. stayed on track at grandsons birthday party but fluid retention is holding me up. This is typical for me. I seem to do the step down weight loss. (Three days plateau then drop.... repeat). Tomorrow is another day. Have a good week everyone.
8/21 281.2 +0.4 Well that was disappointing. Stayed well below my calorie and carb limits and still gained for the second day. Yeah I know... fluid.... still its not fun watching the scale go up. Sticking in for the long haul though as I know it will come down again.. usually with a big drop which will make me happy once again. Im always in such a hurry to lose. Something I have to deal with.
8/22 279 – 2.2 lbs Yeah! Next step down and into the next decade. Ketosis kicked in this morning. Lots of water again today.
8/23 278 – 1.0 lbs Nice! Hunger has really dropped off now and finding it much easier to not think about food. Ketosis is my friend. (Done right) I just have to be sure to drink plenty of water and keep up with my daily vitamins and nutrients. I know in the past when I got into this level I went from the “live to eat” attitude to “eat to live” mode. Good place to be!! Just have to be ready for that plateau when it comes as it always does. Two days to go and already blew right past my challenge goal. So excited!
8/24 277.8 - 0.2 lbs Continuing to move down. Sticking with the program. I expect things to slow down now for a while as I cannot stay on this almost fast of 600 -800 cal a day routine. This is a danger period for me. I have often lost a large amount the first two weeks and then done a “well I deserve a day off” and then never got back on. I cannot take a day off. It's all or nothing for me. I have to be consistent and dedicated to getting to my goal no matter what the daily circumstances. We will be going on a camping trip next week and its always been a time where I went off “just for the trip” and never got back on again. Thats not going to happen this time. Will see how this all goes in the next challenge round.

8/25--177.6 Not quite where I started; this has been a weird round. DH reminded me yesterday that even though I've been dissatisfied with the number on the scale, I've mentioned several times how my clothes fit better and my body feels better (less squishy) and I've bought smaller sizes. I needed that reminder! I spent some time analyzing my food diary over the last several months and I made some lists of the highest protein foods, highest carb foods, and highest calorie foods. I try to eat high protein/low carb, so this gave me some insight into how I'd like to adjust my grocery shopping going forward. I also started using a food scale for the first time ever. I won't be weighing everything, but I'm using it as a guide for some of the things I eat often. The good thing is that it seems I've been mostly overestimating, so that may give me room to eat more calories of good proteins, which usually keeps me more full and equals less snacking. Even though this was a totally weird round in terms of weight, I've gained a lot of insight. See you next round!14 -

8/18 - 148.0 when I woke up and 146.2 after I decided to go back to bed for a couple hours. Hoping the 146.2 is accurate but I also had a burger and booze last night so I see where 148 comes from. Either way I'm back on track today, Friday is always my relaxed evening when it comes to food and drinks because it's usually date night for me and my husband.
8/19 - 148.2 - I guess my body isn't ready to be rid of this number yet. I've lost pretty consistently since January though so being stuck here for a bit is ok.
8/20 - 149.0 - ok with being stuck but not gaining, so very frustrated. Kids start school tomorrow so things should be getting back on a pretty set schedule and I am definitely needing the consistency it'll bring.
8/21 148.0 - my weigh ins have moved to an hour earlier than I have been now that school has started and I have to get my son up early. Was completely expecting an increase and was going to be perfectly fine with it as I took the day off from work to spend a day out with my kids before the 1st day of school. It included pizza buffet and popcorn at the movies so still might see the increase tomorrow but going to eat as healthy as possible today and hope it doesn't jump again.

8/16--220.4. This is why I find weighing everyday very helpful. Looking back at my weight from last round I now know that water weight from my excessive carb snacking took 2 days to show up on the scale and 1 day to go away. Now for the next time this happens, because at some point it will happen again, I now know not to stress over the temporary water weight gain. Now tonight is dinner and a movie, so I know there will be a temporary gain, but to help reduce some of the water weight gain my game plan is to eat lighter before dinner, drink only water including during dinner, plan what I will eat for dinner ahead of time, and take the dog out for a walk when I get back from the movie (the air here is starting to clear up).
8/17--220.4 I am happy to say that other than taking 3 sips from my husband's drink at dinner, I did everything that I had planned to do. I didn't want to take the dog out for a walk after the movie, but then I knew that I had posted it here yesterday, so I went out for the walk and I am happy that I did. I call yesterday a NSV.
8/18--219.7 This morning I am going out to breakfast to one of my favorite breakfast places, but like my dinner and movie night 2 days ago, I have a plan. I am going to an early Kettlebell class before breakfast, I will go for a walk of at least 2 miles after breakfast, I will eat lighter for the rest of the day, and I will go for a walk and/or bike ride in the evening.
8/19--219.3 Yesterday, I did everything from my plan. I also finished organizing the entry way, even though it did take longer than I had hoped. Other than a bike ride this morning and a long walk later today, my plan is to relax for most of the day.
8/20--220.0 My stomach is feeling unsettled today, hopefully it will work itself out by tomorrow. Week long step competition with sister-in-law is back on starting today even though the air is hazy from the fires. The air should be clearing up late Wednesday, so I will have to adjust until then. 8/21--219.5 Did not go to Zumba last night as I had a headache from the smoke in the air and I did the same thing I did last time this happened, I had excessive carb snacking. However, the positive of everything was that this time I did not snack as much. So, if it's just like last time the water weight from my snacking last night should show up tomorrow; however, I am going to drink a lot of water today and see if I can offset some of the water retention. Today the air is in the unhealthy levels and I already have a headache, so today I will not be going outside for a walk at lunch and will probably spend the evening hanging out with the dog.

Over the last couple of days I realized that it's my evening snacking that is really affecting my rate of weight loss. •8/17 - 185 - Okay, it's ON fluid retention. Drank my ACV & lemon water this morning and will be increasing my water consumption to 100+ ozs daily. I'll be drinking a cup of parsley tea later and will continue doing that every day until I don't feel like spongebarb any longer. And SLEEP! That's what my weight increase and this drop is from, not enough and a recoup. Getting there, still retaining. I also need to revise my food diary today. Acceptable foods that cause me no problems, but I need to not eat them at this time.

8/16 - 156 - Wow, after all my whining last round, my weight suddenly seems to be moving in the right direction. I have a feeling this won't stick, but it sure is nice to see this number. I haven't seen this weight since 2001.
8/17 - 156.5 - Not too bad of a bounce back. I didn't get all my water in yesterday, so I'll be chugging it today.
8/18 - 156 - OK!
8/19 - 156 - I had a little extra salt today, so tomorrow may show it, but I'm really happy when my weight doesn't go up on the weekend!
8/20 - 155.5 - This is nice to see on a Monday morning!
8/21 - 155.5 - I'm holding steady and that's OK. I went into a slight panic this morning when I got in my office and realized I forgot to bring my half sandwich for lunch today. It's pretty funny because 6 months ago I would have used it as an excuse to go to the little restaurant next door and ordered their yummy ham and cheese sliders. Today, they've lost their appeal and I will make do with my banana, grapes, popcorn, and some crackers. It's amazing how the daily weigh in has changed my food choices/priorities.
8/22 - 155 - I hit my wedding weight from 8/11/2001! I'm also down 2.5 lbs. from one week ago! I wonder if my body is just catching up from the plateau I had from mid July to early August. Doesn't matter, I'm glad I stuck through it and managed to see this number again.
8/23 - 155.5 - I'm not even mad. I actually expected a little bump from yesterday as that's how my body loses weight. I hope to see that 155 again tomorrow, so I'll make sure to drink all the water today.
8/24 - 155.5 - I ended up eating a late supper and we're having pizza tonight, so I may not see 155 again for a while. However, I pulled out a pair of jeans for casual Friday this morning that I haven't been able to wear in years and they are loose!
8/25 - 154.5 - Holy &%^#, at least that's what I said when I saw the scale this morning! This number puts me in a healthy BMI and less than 5 lbs. from my top goal of 150. Even if it doesn't stick tomorrow, I know I'm getting really close to my goal. Thanks to all for your likes and hugs this round. See you in round 51!14 -

A good day. Tracked everything, made good choices with my lunch compared to what I would normally get. Was mindful with my eating and talked to a friend of mine who is a big source of support. Planning my meals for tomorrow so I don't get tempted at work!

Good day overall where my food is concerned. Realised it was TOTM today (ugh) but stayed away from all temptations! I sometimes forget I'm doing this properly so nearly have a lapse in memory and head to the snacks! So far so good though. Day 4 of healthy eating completed.. feeling grateful!

Stayed on track and stayed mindful! Feel bloated and gross but hoping it will pass soon. day 5 rocked and I even drank a lot more water than I usually do!

I have to be honest, very disappointed with the loss so far, I have been on track and careful with what I eat, but determined to stick it out!

long drive home from my mini vacay! It was really hard to not be tempted with all the treats everyone else was having but kinda proud of myself too! 2 more days of this challenge and I am so happy that I made it this far!

Another good day, I am still proud of myself for sticking to it and making good choices. I really hope that the scales show a nice loss ... sure, I am happy with what I've done but I also want to *see* results on the scales....even though it's just a number...etcetcetc.... Nervous about the final result tomorrow! We shall see

8/16 - 180.0 lbs Good start 😊 Had to go 80 calories over my goal yesterday long after I had finished my diary, I was feeling really hungry.
8/17 - 181.0 lbs (+ 1.0) It is SO hard for me to get past 180. I don’t get it.. What do you want from me body? I was very thirsty when I wake up, so I actually drank a lot of water before weighing. I usually weigh on an empty stomach.
8/18 - 180.2 lbs (- 0.8) I think it’s hard because I’ve been around this weight for many years.. So it just doesn’t come off that easy. Is that a thing? I can’t wait to see 175, then I’ll know that I am over this hard phase and that it’s actually possible to lose more.
8/19 - 179.6 lbs (-0.6) Hope it lasts :-D Great to see the needle below 180 again.

8/23 - 178.1 lbs (-0.5) Wow, didn't expect to see this number. I feel super bloated and I can see that my face and tummy is bloated today. Had to go on antibiotics yesterday, so I don't feel well. I'm starting physical therapy on tuesday, and I can't wait! I'm so excited that I'm smiling from ear to ear as I'm writing this post. Hopefully this is going to improve my overall health and my orthostatic hypotension. I think it's going to be really tough the first months, but I'm just so ready for it. In the long run, I really hope I will be able to exercise in a different form than pilates. YAY for a better me!
8/24 - 177.2 lbs (-1.4) This just shows how important macros are. If you check my spoiler, you can see that I didn’t do too well in R48.. This is because I ate double the amount of carbs that I do now. Same calorie intake, just different macros. I know I said I can’t wait to see 175, because I’ll know that I’m over this 180 phase.. But I have never seen 177 before either, so it’s looking very positive! Only 0.2 lbs away from my challenge goal!
8/25 - 175.9 (-1.3) My body can really shock me sometimes. I moved the scale around and stepped on it 5 times, because I could not believe it. This is a huuuge goal for me, to finally be under 80kg. I think I can safely say that I’m done with the 180 lbs phase now! This round has been fantastic for me and much needed in terms of motivation! When I started out it was really only about the dresses I wanted to wear, but now I barely think about that stuff.. I’m focused on doing stuff that’s right for my body and improving my overall health. It’s actually really weird how much I’ve changed mentally because of this.. If anyone told me that I had to work out a few years ago, I would have laughed at them, ordered some junk food and sent them a picture. Now, I’m suddenly the annoying person who talks warmly about exercise and the importance of eating less processed foods. In total I have lost 4.1 pounds this round. And that’s perfectly fine, because weight loss is not linear at all. Some weeks you don’t lose anything, and then suddenly you drop 4 pounds. Challenge goal weight - CHECK ✔️
