How many cups of green tea for weight loss?
Replies
-
I drink 32 oz of iced green tea every day at work (5 tea bags and 1 ginger). I drink it cuz I like it, it helps me get my water goal without having to drink water. The reason I use so many tea bags is because I like it strong. I've done this for years and haven't noticed any additional weight loss or boost in metabolism. Drink green tea because it taste good and good for it, not because it might boost your metabolism .000000001% (just a made of number, don't quote me on this)
^^^This...
My tea of choice is Red Rooibos. When I make it iced it is amazing! 4 tea bags for me in 32oz of water left out on the deck in the sun for at least 12 hours. I add 1 ounce of agave or honey.2 -

Be careful in these wooish diet ideas. Some time ago I was contacted by the doctor who could not stop his patient bleeding after injecting her with a 24 ga needle (very small needle). After investigating we found that the patient put herself on a green tea regimen and was drinking several cups a day. Green tea contains anti clotting factors and this woman essentially removed her ability to form blood clots.
A friend of mine who works at a hospital here told me a similar story about how one of those ridiculous green tea diets slowed blood clotting in someone who was also taken an oral anticoagulant. It's sad how so many believe that Green tea helps you to lose tons of weight and all those silly diets.
That will depend on the anticoagulant medication, but yes, coumadin is counteracted by Vitamin K.
Side note: my Mom was on coumadin. She also was a farmer's daughter and always had a big garden, even after we kids left and dad died, because she could easily eat nothing but fruits and veggies. She was having some issues and her blood was too thick. Turns out she was eating too many tomatoes each day and had to limit herself to only 1. The vitamin K in tomatoes was messing with her coumadin.2 -

Now you've done it. There are a hundred lurkers out there whose only takeaway from the entire thread (besides all the apple desserts) is going to be Note to self - add turmeric, ACV and hot sauce to green tea to lose weight. (j/k)5 -
Did someone say dessert?

Now this is a much more preferable way to consume green tea0 -
I don't even know why I get involved in these threads. All I get out of them is mind-blowing food porn that triggers me to look up recipes and go on a baking binge.6

Nope. You are wrong. Stop spreading incorrect info!!!!! I said six before and and six it must be. How dare you suggest otherwise.
Can we compromise and make it 3, then?
Fine. But they have to be 500ml cups.
2 cups is 500ml. So that's still 6 cups.
I can math. Metric and imperial.
No deal. Nice try, though!7 -

Ooooooo what *is* that!?!? No, wait, I don't care: I want some. Maybe 6. If there's gelatin in them, don't tell me.1 -

See, I like hot sauce for weight loss. Simply because it has very few calories and replaces stuff I would use (ketchup) that has a lot more. Hell, I've even used hot sauce on pasta instead of reaching for cheese.

It worked for me, 3 large glasses times a day, plain no sugar or honey sweetener10

(We won't lose weight unless we're also in a calorie deficit, but at least the soup would taste like something....)

Why is this a thing? Do people enjoy it? Do they think it will help them in some way? I have shoved a lot of things into water for drinking purposes and never once has it included hot dogs. I demand answers.1 -

There's no one miraculous food or drink for weight loss. It isn't the amount of green tea that will do it. You'll get there by consuming less calories and burning more calories.0 -

Six. Go with six.
Incorrect. The number is three.
Count to three, no more, no less.
Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three.
Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.
Five is right out!
Once the count of three is consumed, you may feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats and large chu...19 -

It's not actually. It was made to sell at a conference/fair type of thing. They used scientific looking "evidence" and people bought it. A lot of it. The purpose was trying to get people to critically think about what is true scientific evidence and what is cherry picked to sell products.8 -

There was a character in Scooby Doo called Hot Dog Water. It's a great nickname.0 -
Sigh. With this poster it's deja vu all over again.3

Both of these are acceptable answers. I am now going to imagine that at the conference they called the parent company H2KetO in order to seem more official.5
