Round 54
Please join us! Starting on 10/05 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 55
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

Do you drink dandelion tea? I drink it intermittently throughout the fall and winter months. I started drinking it four years ago to aid liver function.

This is my second round, just completed round 54 and really loved seeing the results. It helped motivate me because I can see changes daily that I can’t see on my body. I’m currently doing intermittent fasting (16:8), which just helps me to control my calories better and stay under 1280cals.

5/10: xxxxx: Goals
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

The closer I get to my goal weight, the slower the scales move. I’m trying to focus on the other benefits of my weight loss such as the lower blood pressure, my hip pain has disappeared, and my stamina has increased. It would be great if I could make my goal weight stick for this round though!

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

10/4 155.8 still going down but the frustration is starting to set in. It was one day for crying out loud..four days of eating right and exercising and I still can't manage to take it all off. 😥😥😥 I guess the positive is I still managed to loose from the last 10 days, even if it is the lowest I have ever pulled. I am just tired of this super slow trend. And although I want to be optimistic about the next 10 days, this Sunday is thanksgiving which is giving me major regret for binging last saturday when I could have looked forward and pushed through the day trying to make it to this weekend. I am just aggravated because I know the next 10 days will be equally as hard to see a loss. I know it's a ridiculious goal but if I made it to 148 by October 9th I would have accomplished 30 pounds in the three months and I think I'm slightly dissapoined because I have been working really hard to get there. Ok enough whining. Here is to another day and to another 10 days.
Okay, from "friend" to "friend", it's time for a Pep Talk so here goes:
Pick yourself up and shake yourself off! You have so much to be proud of! Your weight has went from 230 pounds down to 155! That is approximately 75 pounds lost and all done in such a healthy way! You are an exercise guru and sometimes when I just don't feel like doing ANYTHING, I think about how hard you are probably working that very moment and I get my behind up and give it at least 10 to 15 minutes of SOMETHING!
I know you have changed your routine SLIGHTLY in order to allow your mother to exercise and walk and get healthy with you. THAT IS ADMIRABLE. It may slow things down a touch, but if she ends up healthier too then it's a WIN, WIN. You are a rockstar. Don't forget that. You are Kind, generous and determined. I know you will reach your goal, that I am sure of. Many people will. But to do it with such spirit and generosity makes you the AMAZING person that you obviously are! Chin up Girl! I know I am older than you, but from you I learn so much! I hope you will enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones. It's only a day. Your diet & exercise plan and all your goals will still be waiting for you on the other side. Good luck on Round 55! I continue to be one of your cheerleaders!

Hello everyone- I'm new here and haven't tried something like this- but I LOVE the idea of just taking it 10 days at a time. That seems so much more doable for me. I am in the habit of signing up for months long challenges, but then I fall off the wagon because it feels like I have so much time to reach my goal. So- I'm in for Round 55! Excited!
Oh, I'm 5' 10". My GW is 170, my CW is probably around 195 (I have not weighed myself in a few weeks and I haven't been making the greatest food choices lately). I'm in no huge hurry to get there- I'm focused on eating healthier and being fit at whatever weight I am at- but I know I'd be healthier and feel better at a lower BMI.

@deepwoodslady wow! You literally made me cry. Thank you so much!!! I know at times I do tend to forget to give myself a pat on the back for all the accomplishments I have already accomplished and I know its one of the things I need to work on, side by side my weight loss. I have been getting better at it but as you can see I still have my days.
I am happy I work out with my mom, it makes things so much more fun and to see her improvement (and inadvertly discovery where my bad co-ordination comes from 😜😆) literally makes my day feel worth it..and now to discover another person is motivated by me (you) really makes everything seem worth it (gain or the same)
I really needed that pep talk (sometimes a little reasoning is all that is needed) It really brightened my day!!
And just so you know, I am one of your cheerleaders 🎉...I can't wait to get to your post and see changes as well. You are inspirational to me too.
P.s I hope were are friends 😄😄 although a non-traditional "meeting", I do consider you one of my friends.7 -
