They were super simple and really nice. The only thing with this magazine is almost everything has to be started the day before. Means I have to plan

I've read that starting the day before is best. Have you ever made bread using a starter?

I haven't used a starter. I might make a sourdough starter to try. Seems the resting overnight kind of mellows the flavour

I have trouble planning ahead. Do you have a proofer? It really helps.

I haven't. But I always wished a camel would show up.

Those croissants look fabulous too. They are screaming for strawberry preserves. Are you a professional baker or just very, very talented home baker?

Dhahnjr2323 - what were you expecting? You threw it out there and people took it in the direction it went.

I just like baking. There's something so satisfying about baking especially with yeast. It's almost magical

I need to try baking sometime. I've never used yeast before. lol

It's really fun the fact it rises and becomes something. Today I made tortillas for taco Thursday and have pizza dough started in the fridge 0hsman3nias1.jpg

Those look really good. Do you bake desserts as well?

To answer questions I don't have a proofer and I do bake desserts. Today is cookies for Thanksgiving and I'll make pies and tarts. Well a pie cause you have to have pumpkin pie right?

I have a proofer I bought years ago for about $100. It works great and you can control the temp. And it folds flat for storage.

That's very cool. My dream is a steam injection oven but we'd have to renovate our kitchen for that

I'm sorry this didn't go how you intended. It's a little late, but here, have some lady humps.

Are you in charge of cooking all of the Thanksgiving dinner?

    Yes I am.
I'm going to make a prime rib roast instead of turkey though. My mom likes it and never gets a nice roast and they were on sale so why not

The recent years I cooked Thanksgiving for family, nobody ate much of anything. My stepson devoured all of the cranberry sauce (no, I'm not kidding and I was thankful I had extra), the kids ate biscuits and ketchup. My husband and I were the only ones that ate. Now we just go out every year.

I only cooked Thanksgiving once and that was last year. It actually turned out pretty good. :)

The time before, was in the 1990s. My parents came to my house for Thanksgiving. My mother went back and told my sisters that I fed her weeds, i.e. spring mix. After that, my husband and I have always referred to it as weed salad. I actually would enjoy cooking for family, but I'm not going to make the effort for people that don't want to eat or appreciate the effort.

    Weed salad. :D

I understand though. The Thanksgiving last year that I cooked everyone was really nice and appreciative of the effort. They knew it wasn't something I normally did and only took over last year because the usual relative was sick. It helped make it a good experience for me. Though I still hope to not have to repeat it this year. :)

It's a lot of work and planning, but if people enjoy it, it is worth it.

    Do not drink antifreeze

Good advice and don't let your pets do it either. Although, a lot of women seem to put it in their SOs Gatorade, to get rid of them and get their money.

Apparently antifreeze is a good way to get rid of racoons

That doesn't surprise me because it apparetly tastes sweet. Although, I have 2 Coonhounds, so I don't have a racoon problem. gdgdi9nj3c8x.png

Your dogs are gorgeousi live in Toronto. Apparently we're the racoon capital

We don't hunt ours, although they hunt themselves some racoon, possums and ground hogs, but they don't bring them home. Raccoons can be a real pest. Of course, squirrels and chipmunks aren't no picnic. They have eaten the wires in my car.

We can't do anything about the racoons. We have squirrels and skunks too. But the racoons are the worst. They get in the garbage bins and something sadly don't get out. Makes garbage day always an adventure
