Good Morning everyone, is it to late for me to hop on board? I am a walker as well, and I love it! Hubby got me an updated version of fitbit for Christmas, so I promised myself I'd get off the couch and walk as much as I possibly can. I use to strive for 10,000/day, but now my range is 16,000+. I've been faithfully walking, counting calories and working on strength building for almost 7 weeks. I'm not seeing much weight loss, but I've lost quite a few inches. For me, walking drastically improves my moods and how I feel about myself.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone2 -
This one was so fun! Her last song is “Dancing Queen” from ABBA. So fun!❤️

@jm216 I’d love to join you guys.
I cleaned up my eating over the last 6 weeks and now I’m ready to ease into exercise. I love walking, but with over 3ft of snow on the ground, I’m starting with indoor walks on my treadmill. My goal is to walk every day while watching one episode of my ‘guilty pleasure’ shows which are about 30-45 min long.
Please friend me if you’d like0 -

Finally getting back to moving! Felt good to shovel snow yesterday. 😀

My goal this year is really easy; I've signed up to a 24-hour hike in September, to raise money for charity.
So I need to be able to hike in Scotland (not quite the highlands, but not the lowlands either) for 24 hours, with minimal breaks, without dying.
I have permanent bone damage in one ankle and a dodgy achilles in the other. Clearly NOTHING CAN GO WRONG HERE.
Current status: on Sunday I hiked 18 miles in 7 hours, including two strenuous uphills, with less than an hour's break for lunch. The next day my right hamstring and achilles were a bit tight and sore, but they've eased up now. I'll probably take this Sunday off (the forecast is rain ) and then do the same hike again the Sunday after.
Ideally I soon need to start hiking two days in a row, but I'm loath to give up my gym-and-coffee on Saturday mornings. I'm currently hoping that the lighter evenings will soon give me enough time to get home, repack, and get to a hiking trail in time to fit in a reasonable hike in the late afternoon.3 -
I'm late to this thread, but I'd like to comment anyway. I started walking/jogging last month, and I feel better already. I found some amazing hidden gems, and I've made a "friend date" to go walk with a cool friend and some amazing dogs on Weds. I'll post pics when it happens. So far, I've walked about 10 miles in three weeks, which is a feat for me, as my usual past time is sitting in front of the computer or sewing machine.0

What a great goal you have! We’re happy to have you here as such an inspiration!

I took a planned rest day yesterday after my dodgy ankle had started to ache a little.
This morning I was woken up by said ankle throbbing at 4am. Nothing in my body seems to work properly anymore.
Clearly the lesson to be learned from this is ‘rest is fatal’, right? *goes for a pleasant lunchtme walk*1 -
