Christmas goodies you're excited for

Every Christmas I look forward to my mom's peanut butter fudge (it's actually chocolate/PB, not just PB). It is soooo good and we only have it at Christmas. It's not Christmas without PB fudge.

This year I'm going to tackle homemade cinnamon rolls. (Rising dough. YIKES!!! I've never tried anything with rising dough before.)

What deliciousness are you looking forward to this Christmas? As usual, bonus points for food porn pics.

    I also make peanut butter fudge every year for christmas. Just peanut butter, no chocolate. I don't really know why I started this. It's just so good though. And sooo high calorie lol. I think I'm going to make a couple extra batches and give them out to the girls at work too.

    I also make an assortment of chocolate (milk, dark, and yes WHITE) covered things. Pretzels, popcorn, peanuts.

    Get your mommas recipe before it's too late. My father had been dead more than a decade before his second wife discovered his first wife's recipe for banana pudding.

    I bake a bunch of different cookies with my kids for Christmas. They are all pretty much Christmas only cookies and they are so buttery and delicious. Plus I enjoy the baking with my littles.

    Come on down!!! 😊 lol the pumpkin roll nearly killed me. Everyone told me “they’re sooo easy!!!” And my grandma gave me her recipe. I probably made about 30 failed pumpkin rolls, they kept ripping apart. I tried many different things, and finally found the secret to keeping them together. Don’t do the stupid tea towel trick (not to mention who wants towel fibers in their roll?), just roll it right up in the parchment paper you baked it on and set it on a cooling rack 👍.

    I love making and eating sugar cookies with my kids for Santa on Christmas eve. We have lots of frosting and sprinkles and other fun stuff and its just one big yummy mess. Then after santa has his fill we eat the rest for dessert on Christmas.

    I've only read the tea towel method, so if I decide to try it this holiday I will use the parchment paper for sure.

    Oh, yeast is so much fun to work with because it's ALIVE! Just make sure you carefully read the recipe and work backwards from all the rising times so you start early enough.

    For years I struggled and then gave up on dough recipes that required rolling because I just couldn't make circles. And then I discovered this:

    I use a traditional rolling pin to start and that one to get it round.

    It's just too cold and dry in my house this time of year for dough to rise properly on the counter.

    Much though I love all the goodies, sweet and savoury.

    I’m over at your place Christmas to new year @BruinsGal_91. Need to get as much of those traditional goodies in as possible. I’ll even make the pastry for you. :)

    Do you marzipan and royal ice your cake.?

    For me it would be an English trifle with sherry. So odd, when I was little I used to think the sherry spoiled it, now I think it is spoiled without it.

    I had lost the recipe for these cookies my mother used to make and just got a copy from my sister.

    It would be pretty easy to convert them to gluten free, the dilemma for me is that they have a LOT of nuts, and nuts and I aren't friends, but they'd be worth it.

    They're a thin shortbread layer, topped with a nut layer, topped with a fudge layer, sprinkled with nuts. They are amazing.

    I'm still debating whether or not to make them.

    My grandma's krumkakes (Norweigan cookies). We only have them once a year. Eggnog!
