Every Christmas I look forward to my mom's peanut butter fudge (it's actually chocolate/PB, not just PB). It is soooo good and we only have it at Christmas. It's not Christmas without PB fudge.
This year I'm going to tackle homemade cinnamon rolls. (Rising dough. YIKES!!! I've never tried anything with rising dough before.)
What deliciousness are you looking forward to this Christmas? As usual, bonus points for food porn pics.

I might try to make my Mom's fudge again. I miss it (and her) but can never seem to make it quite right. I mean it's almost 100% brown sugar.7

Fruitcake.
(Yes, I mean it. I make it myself and soak it with plenty of apple brandy.)11 -
I love this time of year because of all the treats 😊 I’ve already started baking. Here’s some of my favorites ive made

Well, it's just rude that you haven't invited us all over already.
It all looks good, but that rolled cake looks amazing! I want to try one this year, but I'm nervous . . .

I don't have pretty pictures, but I'm really excited for my husband's ginger cookies, decorating sugar cookies, kringles (if I can get my friend to make some), and most importantly of all...cherry bread!!5

I also make peanut butter fudge every year for christmas. Just peanut butter, no chocolate. I don't really know why I started this. It's just so good though. And sooo high calorie lol. I think I'm going to make a couple extra batches and give them out to the girls at work too.
I also make an assortment of chocolate (milk, dark, and yes WHITE) covered things. Pretzels, popcorn, peanuts.4 -
I keep my mom's tradition alive by making her yearly candy recipes with her awesome tempered chocolate: chocolate covered cherries, reese's cups, mounds bars, fudge, and a few others. I usually make some baklava as well. She always made tons to give as gifts so I do the same. The cherries are my favorite as they're wrapped in a dough before dipping and I don't let them liquefy. They're so freakin' good.5

The ham and the prime rib. I'm a savory girl.7

Get your mommas recipe before it's too late. My father had been dead more than a decade before his second wife discovered his first wife's recipe for banana pudding.2

Potica! My husband's family (Hispanic) is from the Pueblo, Colorado region, where this Slovenian dessert is VERY popular. Immigrants brought it with them when they came to work in the steel mills. Interesting to see how this dessert has been fully adopted.

I've got the recipe. It's just better if Mom makes it and I don't have to. LOL5 -

We just ordered ours from Schuster's yesterday!1 -
I bake a bunch of different cookies with my kids for Christmas. They are all pretty much Christmas only cookies and they are so buttery and delicious. Plus I enjoy the baking with my littles.1

I love Christmas-only stuff. It's so much more special that way.3 -
British-style fruitcake. The British shop near us is stuffed full of goodies like that. But my husband is talking about making it himself, he's a superb cook.5

Come on down!!! 😊 lol the pumpkin roll nearly killed me. Everyone told me “they’re sooo easy!!!” And my grandma gave me her recipe. I probably made about 30 failed pumpkin rolls, they kept ripping apart. I tried many different things, and finally found the secret to keeping them together. Don’t do the stupid tea towel trick (not to mention who wants towel fibers in their roll?), just roll it right up in the parchment paper you baked it on and set it on a cooling rack 👍.4 -
I love making and eating sugar cookies with my kids for Santa on Christmas eve. We have lots of frosting and sprinkles and other fun stuff and its just one big yummy mess. Then after santa has his fill we eat the rest for dessert on Christmas.2

Tamales and Posole6

date swirl cookies, but I already made them on Monday so that's sort of cheating.3

I've only read the tea towel method, so if I decide to try it this holiday I will use the parchment paper for sure.2
