just as an aside - it surprises me that people dont see crust as meaning outer rim - do you not see a crust of bread as meaning that crusty bit around the edges of the slice??

midwesterner here. i would have thought when the OP said crust, it meant the outer edge. the parts my dogs wait very patiently for1

When I'm making homemade pizza, the whole dough forms the crust. Therefore I read it that way, and not as just the outer edge.1 -

While technically I would call the whole cooked dough "the crust", I think it's fairly common to say something like "I'm gonna give the dog my crust" to be understood to mean "I'm going to eat this slice up to where the cheese and sauce ends and give the edge to the dog" rather than "I'm going to scrape the sauce and cheese into my mouth and give the rest of the slice to the dog". My nephew asks me to cut the crust off his pizza all the time, he means the edge. Although starting with a person who is already removing the cheese from a slice, it was open to interpretation regardless

OP, there is practically no way to know how many calories are in each part without making it yourself. But if you are taking a regular slice of pizza, pulling off the cheese, and then eating just the remaining sauce and dough up to the crust, honestly just eat something else. One slice of pizza is probably not low cal, but it's not so bad you need to go those extremes. At that point I would log a piece of white bread, a half a serving of tomato sauce, and a tablespoon of olive oil I guess.5 -

This. If I talk about whether a particular restaurant pizza has a good crust, I similarly mean the bread part, all of it. It never occurred to me that OP would mean only the edge (or that anyone would consider not eating that worth factoring into the logging), but now it makes more sense!3 -
Someone on another thread suggested a pizza of cauliflower crust topped with vegetables and no cheese. I found it laughable, but maybe that's right up the OP's alley3

I have an idea. OP could use a slice of prosciutto as a base, add sauce and vegetables, then count the calories. It might be better to cook that in a toaster oven as exposing the meat to the intense heat of a baking plate would carbonize it. It might be better to just eat it cold as a wrap. That works out to about 50 calories of vegetables and 50 calories of meat. The pizza sauce adds sugar. If you use only tomato sauce and a few spices that could be 5 or 10 calories less than pizza sauce.0

I still can't fathom why they want to eat a traditional pizza if they hate cheese & crust?
Might as well just make one of those Thomas English Muffin like pizzas & put on toppings they like or use a tortilla.
