Fitness pal said that If I ate 1,200 calories a day would lose 2 pounds a week. It's been one month, and I didn't lose any weight. Why?

Not on any medication.0

Can you tell us the weight you logged 4 weeks ago and the weight you logged this morning?
Can you open your diary to public viewing?1 -
Are you using a food scale for all foods and logging all liquids with calories? The issue is usually that we are eating more than we think.

I started at 128 lbs, and today I put it back on 128lbs. I had only lost one pound but it came back. I don't have a food scale.0
-
I literally log in my foods at the time I eat them because I work on the computer. I will make my settings public, hold on let me figure that out.0

Buy a food scale. it's very inexpensive. You can find them in most grocery store or like a wal-mart for $10-15. get one with a tare button. that's about all you need.
also note weight fluctuates daily and within a given day. ideally you want to weigh often enough to get a feel for the general trend. i use happy scale app.
why a food scale is crucial

Okay, everything is public. Thank you. I will buy a food scale.2
-
Also note that as you have little weight to lose, you should be looking at a rate of loss of 0.5lbs or 1lbs a week MAX.9
-
You have to weigh all solids and measure all liquids. Being your light you won’t need much food to sts weight unless you exercise a lot ?1
-
i still don't see your diary being public0

Thanks guys. I guess I'll be getting liposuction. I probably don't need 1,200 calories everyday for someone with hypothyroid. No point into putting in effort when nothing's going to get done. I guess what they say is correct, you can't lose weight when you have hypothyroid!15

it's way too soon to give up! why not get a $15 scale and try that for 2-3 weeks first? 1200 is the MINIMUM requirement for a female to get enough nutrients so you absolutely need AT LEAST 1200 calories daily.

ok i can see your diary. you are not logging very much at all - are you eating one meal a day, of high calorie foods like snacks, chips, pizza? Some meals you log only salad dressing? are you putting that on anything?
Is this on purpose because on meal works better for you?
You are likely eating more calories than you think you are. get a scale and measure that way and double check the entries you pick in the app (they are user generated so not always accurate).

This seems a little dramatic. What is your goal weight?

Wait, you said you're hypothyroid AND not on any medication. See a doctor to get your thyroid regulated. When properly medicated, hypothyroidism is NOT a hindrance to weight loss.15

EXCELLENT point6 -
concur with other comments - focus on your logging for the next month, log everything that goes in your mouth; weigh it all and the let us know how you are doing
with the little that you have to lose, you need to be accurate; and may want to consider adjusting your goal to .5lbs a week
get to a doctor and get your thyroid medication (i have no thyroid going on 5 years and can lose weight as well as the next person)3 -
The Woo is strong in this one.5

I looked at your diary and
1) You have to weigh all food in grams. Granola bars can weigh a lot more than what the package says.
2) Make sure you choose "good" entries in the database for things like the pizza (and you have to weigh that, too)
3) Are you eating the sauces straight or are you putting them on something? Even carrot sticks should be weighed and logged, since they have calories, too.2 -
Hi, OP, I am also a female at 128 lbs. While we are all different, I can attest that it can be more difficult to drop significant weight when you are already pretty "light". I agree with the scale comments, weigh everything, and log everything! If you look at my log, you will see that I was over yesterday because of taco bell. A little embarrassing to log, but at the end of the day your log is a tool to benefit only yourself, so stay honest. Also, I notice that when I eat foods with higher sodium (again, taco bell), my weight is up for a couple of days due to sodium. Drink lots of water, and try eating whole foods in their natural form, like fruits, veggies, and lean proteins. Log whatever condiments that you use to cook or dress your foods in as well. Measure or weigh everything. I know it can be hard, but I imagine that you're close to your goal. Just keep plucking away at it, little by little, and it will come off. It's a good sign already that you aren't gaining, just not losing at the rate you would like.4

I'm 65, disabled, use a wheelchair outside the house, on meds that cause weight gain--and I have lost 52 lbs in the past 6 months. If I can lose weight, anyone can. You said you are only 128 lbs. What is your height?8
-
At 128 lbs, you have little room for error. You must log everything exactly using a food scale. I am not sure how tall you are but chances are unless you are shorter than 5'3", you probably dont have much weight to lose.4

Just my opinion because it works for me. I weigh everything on digital scale. I see a registered dietitian. Not a nutritionist. An RD has a 3 year degree in university, mandatory stages in hospital, and are regulated. Anyone can say they are a nutritionist. Since seeing mine, i have dropped from 27% body fat to 10% since june 1 2018.4

I have hypothyroidism. I've lost -40 lbs so far by counting calories and eating at 1500 calories per day. Also, since you say you're not on medication, I'm guessing you're self-diagnosed as hypothyroid which is very common for people who are struggling to lose weight. Do yourself a favor and buy a food scale- use it daily and log exactly what you eat. I wish I would have done this much sooner and saved myself a lot of stress, time, and energy!4
-
You're not weighing & measuring your foods correctly (or at all in some cases). So saying you're eating 1200 cal/day is incorrect.
You're also saying you have a medical condition that is untreated. You should see a doc and get that squared away.
Rather than "oh, I'm gonna get liposuction" maybe spend like $10 and get a food scale and try to do go the healthier, far less expensive, non-surgical route first? That's like saying, "I stubbed my toe!" and having your entire foot amputated rather than taking a Tylenol and maybe an ice pack.14 -
I agree with what everyone has said, but the rules of weigh everything and eat less processed food are the most important. Nutrient rich foods will make you feel full. After viewing your diary I would be starving, in fact I have issues with low blood sugar - I'd passed out. Maybe a nutritionist is the way to go (though that can be cost prohibitive).4
