Is this kind of transformation really possible in 6 weeks?

Fair play to the guy if it is but I don’t think so
As someone who also lost weight when I quit drinking I certainly didn’t end up like that, he’s lost what 20-30 lbs and gone from about 25% bf to sub 15 all in 6 weeks?

^This lol
Or maybe he’s got himself some magic woo beans? Sorry.
I wish it was that easy.
Maybe he was just super bloaty? Bloat has never been my problem, so I’m just throwing it out there because I don’t know. 🤔
Edit to add: I’ve seen some amazing transformations where the time elapsed between photos is pretty short. Maybe if I had a trainer giving me crap about my food choices and workouts on a regular basis, I’d have this kind of success too?3 -
Yes, he was super bloated. Beer will do that to you (among other things).8

Not really, but people can manipulate their stomach area to look fatter in one pic. I've seen youtube videos on the before and afters, but taken the same day, not weeks or months apart. Here's an example: https://hellogiggles.com/lifestyle/health-fitness/before-and-after-pics-taken-the-same-day/

Thanks. I’ve seen lots of posts (photos) about bloating that can happen over the course of a DAY and it shocks me. I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with that!
Bloating though, wouldn’t account for the change in the definition on his arms.4 -
Yes, I've seen the stomach thing before, but the arms and shoulders are a different matter. Wonder should I call him out on it or should I let it go It's on a Facebook group I'm part of, no call to be putting topless pics up in that group so he obviously attention seeking, but the women in the group are going mad for it.

Is it typical of what one would expect normally, no.
Honestly I don't see much difference in anything but loss of weight/bloat, good lighting/filter, with a flex vs. unflexed pic.
I had simular if not more ridiculous change of myself that took only a few more weeks but more of a change IMO.
We are talking still pics.

I don't think there's any need to call him out on it. I'm not saying it's not real, just not all fat loss. The guy stopped drinking which got rid of a lot of his bloat. He lost some weight and started working out more frequently, so definition is going to show more. Better lighting and pose...
No need to take away from his achievement. I've seen dramatic changes to people's faces alone after being sober for a period of time.6 -
I don't see much of a change. He wasn't very overweight to begin with.
Lose a few pounds, firm up a bit, and then do your new photos with the correct lighting and after a workout. His transformation photos clearly make use of lighting to highlight muscles.8 -

IMO you should let it go...7 -

This reminds me of the fitness accounts on Instagram that show you just how much ab definition can change after a food binge. I know people who after having more carbs than usual have retained water everywhere, including their arms. Alcohol changes the body in many ways and after six weeks, I can see this happening. The muscle that we see was already there but was being masked by his alcohol consumption and water retention. I'm in the let it go camp. To be honest you seem a bit miffed about it for no reason.8

Maybe this is what they call newbie gains?0

Or maybe he chose a slightly old photo when he was at his ‘fattest’ that I’d actually perhaps a month or more before his 6wks?3
-
Yeah no point pissing on his parade6
-
It also looks kind of like he used makeup to make them look more defined lol2

Bloat, posture, lighting, makeup, and photoshop can create a dramatic difference.6

Eh, I don't think it's worth debating if it's possible in X-timeframe mainly because transformation pictures can be really deceiving (youtube Furious Pete transformation video for some "art" on transformation). Moral of the story is don't be reckless with alcohol or become distracted from unrealistic results in a given time frame from others (patience & focus on yourself)6

As someone who does suffer bloating (which at times makes me look 8 months pregnant, not a pretty sight at the age of 63)this looks more to me like belly fat. Also, in my experience it's hard to disguise the bloated look no matter how hard i try to hold in my stomach
Maybe he already had some muscle definition which is more obvious now he's shed some fat? Whatever, I say fair play to him for cutting out alcohol. I know I feel and look better when I don't drink.1 -
It is possible. Once he started restricting his calories and quit drinking, he released a lot of water. Plus muscle memory, if he has lifted in the past, would help him to appear a bit more muscular as the muscle responds to training again.

I believe it, a good cut at BMR and lifting can definately do that in 6 weeks. But I would say the guy was prob trained beforehand1
-
Slight deficit and training heavy does wonders. When combined, I believe this can be achieved yes.2
-
I think that’s realistic for 6 weeks. Looks like he started eating good and lifting.0
