My mom and I want to start keto. I would like to lose 100 pounds my mom needs to lose around 150. Weve done alot of reading and would really like to start keto but are not really sure where to start. Theres so much info and its hard for us to figure out how to begin. Does anyone have some good resources? Meal plans would be amazing. I see alot on instagram but most just say pay us for any info. Im planning on intigrating IF aswell.

Check out the low carb and keto groups, I believe they have quite a bit of information about keto diets that is more in-depth than you see in a lot of articles shared on social media. I would start reading through content in those groups, and asking a lot of questions. There are some users on this site who have been keto for a significant amount of time, they would be able to give you more information about what a keto diet is really like, and you'd be able to gauge if it is a good fit for you and your lifestyle.

One of my favorite websites for different recipes is http://lowcarbyum.com and they do offer a free 3-day keto meal plan to show you how much you should consume in carbs and to give you an idea of meals. You should definitely give that a look!0

The link includes about everything you'll want/need to know. Pay particular attention to the part about electrolytes and keto flu. So long as neither you nor your mother have a reason to restrict sodium consider increasing it to (likely) totally avoid "keto flu".0 -
I love keto. I started January 1st and I've already lost almost 40 lb. I'm never hungry and don't crave the junk. The very basic tenets of keto are that you cut out sugar and grains and vegetable oils. I aim for about 20 carbs a day. Some people shoot for 30. You just have to find the sweet spot that works for you. For me, youtube has been my school. I highly recommend Dr. Ken Berry's channel on youtube. He's a real M.D. in practice today who has a whole series of videos about keto and health, and almost any question you can think of, he's already answered it. His videos have been invaluable to me. Also Keto Connect and Headbanger's Kitchen have some fantastic recipes! The keto community is VERY active on youtube, and once you learn the ropes you'll find it's really a very simple diet. Much is made over the "keto flu" the first week. I slept a lot, but after the first 8 days or so I started to feel better and now I can't believe how much energy I have. You're going to love it and you're going to see real results, really fast. Just take it day by day, keep it simple and learn as you go. Good luck!0
