Hi guys!! I thought school work would tone down a bit but really hasn't! Our family also found out we have an 18 year old brother we never knew about until now. Long story short back in the day blood tests REALLY were not accurate. With DNA now, we have a new family member, we are so sad to of missed out on so much but everyday is a new beginning and I cannot wait to meet him!! With all of this stress, I couldn't make myself eat and have lost more than expected. But now I am back on routine and gained a pound!! I really ate very healthy those days but I guess after sending your body in starvation mode it does crazy things. Oh well :( I am atleast a few pounds lighter than I thought I would be yet. Enough about me....

Hello to everyone!! I hope you are all doing well with your fitness goals!! I am going to do better with keeping up with the forum and cheer everyone on!! I know all of you have helped me by reading your stories. Like Joe Dirt says, " Keep on, keeping on!!!" lol

Faith - nice job being so close to your goal! Woohoo for new boots. So happy that you and hubby won't be together again. As far as getting a SO to exercise, my hubby was the one who thought that I wouldn't exercise. He would make comments about wanting to go on a bike ride, etc. It was finally when I got to my low point that I wanted to change. I never thought he would eat healthy (he always went out for lunch to a fast food place) but once I started to take the time to pack him a bag full of food for the day, he doesn't go out anymore. I also stopped buying most of the processed foods that we were eating. He still misses some of them, but he knows why I don't buy them. Check out this short video by Chalene Johnson (Turbo Jam, Turbo Kick, ChaLean Extreme, Turbo Fire instructor): http://www.turbokick.com/wblog/?p=813 I think she has some great points about it.

Chas - wow! That would be a curveball thrown into the mix. Don't worry about that pound. Just focus on eating healthy and getting your calories in. Love the quote!

Good morning! Last day of my cleanse. I love a short one. I will never go back to the Master Cleanse after doing the Shakeology cleanse. I was down another pound this morning and have lost an inch in my waist. Yay! I can see the bloat is gone. Thinking about how I am going to change my eating when I start back to eating all of my calories tomorrow. I'm going to focus on eating from the top 2 tiers of Michi's Ladder. http://teambeachbody.com/eat-smart/michis-ladder

So, Sunday marks 90 days until Christmas Eve or 60 days until about Thanksgiving. Anyone interested in doing a longer challenge?

Lisa - That's great you got even better results after reound 2 - and sounds like your cleanse has been successful as well! You're all over it, lol

Chas - Wow, that'd be a shock for sure! Hope things work out for the best.

Faith - Hope your hubby gets good news from his interview, that's gotta be stressful living in different states. Hats off to you! As far as encouraging him to get healthier, I'd try and talk him into getting a physical at a doctor's office with all the blood work and everything. If everything checks out you can put your mind at ease, and if not he'll have the truth in black and white. You could try getting him to workout with you when he's around, or working on healthier recipes that are still tasty so he doesn't even realize it, lol

I'm up for a longer challenge - did you have something in mind? My first mini-goal is to be under 200 by Christmas so anything that will push me in that direction would be great!

Thank you guys for the kind words. It will all work out :)

Eating healthy and working out to Zumba as often as possible have been easier than I thought! I finally hit 199!!! I gained over 100 with my daughter and this is my first time back in the 100's since I have given birth!! She will be 3 in December! Mini-goals make the ultimate goal seem so much closer in your grasp! Now that I'm a single mom, I would like to get my sexy back?!? Lol, if I ever had any! I'm just kidding. I like to keep a good attitude at all times if you can't tell lol.

Bogmama I have read up on the Master Cleanse and wasn't to sure. I may try the shakeology cleanse you are talking about.

I'm up for a challenge that you and CGerman are referring to! Its always a great way to get motivated!!

Hope everyone is doing well with their goals!!!

Cori - thank you. If I do something, I try to do it the right way. Gets me in trouble sometimes since I am more of an all or nothing girl, but it also helps when I have my mind focused on my willpower is strong.

Heather - thinking of you and hope you are doing well tonight.

Chas - this one tasted a billion times better than the Master Cleanse. I also like that the Shakeology has so many vitamins and minerals in it, that I knew taking it 3 times a day I was getting all of my calcium and other vitamins that I needed. No salt water flush on this (oh my goodness, it's so hard to gag down) or senna tea to get things moving or hot lemonade. Let me know if you want to try it, I can sell you the packets for it if you don't want to buy an entire bag of it or you can order it and if you don't like it, return it for a full refund.

Challenge - hmmmm, take your weight and multiply it by 20. This is the amount of calories to shoot for burning during exercise for the week. So, for me that would be 3170 calories which would mean I need to realistically work out 5 or 6 days a week to hit it. Every week when we weigh-in, we will post our new number to burn and also post our amount that we burned the week prior. We can pick Sunday as a new start of the week. Hopefully this will get the weight dropping off and keep us motivated. How does it sound?

Sounds like a great challenge idea! My official weigh in day is Sunday so that works out too. Let's see, based on last week's weigh in I'd have to burn 4,496 calories in a week - I can do that. Great idea Lisa - I'm excited!! How about this format for a check-in:

    Prior Week Weight: 224.8
    Calories to Burn: 4,496
    Actual Burn: XXXX

    Current Week Weight: XXX
    Calories to Burn: XXX

Love the format! I think it will be perfect, Cori!

Happy to be eating again this morning. :) Lost a total of 4 lbs in 3 days, so I am thrilled. I posted some new pictures that I took this morning on my profile. I never thought I would be in a bikini. This weekend we'll take pics of each other (which always turn out better) but these will have to suffice for now.

Cori, the format looks great! Sorry I am just now catching onto your name well.

Bogmama, I really want to try a cleanse but I don't want to put you out of your way.

YAY!! I'm excited to try this challenge!! Okay, that means I need to burn 3980 calories!! I'm super excited now, it's my first MFP challenge!!

    Hey girls!

Oh, geez. I calculated my number for the challenge, and it's daunting! Kind of freaks me out a little... Lisa, i got the Kettlebell Goddess dvd. I like it because it has varying workouts, and the ability to "shuffle" to create new ones. My problem with working out is that I get bored by the same routine. I actually haven't had time to try it out yet. I've literally been busy from the moment I wake up at 7am until 2am when I finally get to go to sleep! This week has been crazy pants. I'm hoping to get it started this weekend.

Sounds like good things are happening for everyone - husbands, bringing sexy back, kids, etc. So glad to hear that about everyone! Things are good for me too. Still waiting :o( Yes, until the end of October. I finally got my refund checks from my retirement account with the school district in Stockton. Definitely going to use that money to pay some bills! We're swamped.

    Happy Friday!!

Kaitlyn - I hear ya on the daunting number of calories to burn. As a bonus, generally the more you weigh the easier it is to get your heartrate up and burn through the calories quicker. If I do a good walk I can burn 1100-1200 calories in just over an hour.

I took a look at what I've burned this week already and I think I'll hit it this week!

Anybody have any fun plans for the weekend? I was looking forward to a fall weekend, maybe doing a corn maze or something - but the weather isn't cooperating. Supposed to be pushing 90 which is a little to warm to be wandering around in a field for hours  The kids mentioned roller skating - which let me tell you ladies I look ridiculous doing, but it's a great calorie burner.

Chas - I'll message you. It's not a problem for me. :) Welcome to the challenge!

Kaitlyn - you know, at first I thought about setting a goal that I knew would work for me calorie wise and then, like Cori said, I realized that that goal might be really easy for some people to hit or really difficult. Cori is right, the more you weigh the higher the calories you burn. I'm trying to focus on an hour every day for 5 or 6 days a week. That's what will get results. Have you tried your new DVD yet? How do you like it? Yay for getting the money! Too bad it has to go towards bills though.

Cori - awesome about your calorie burn. I know that I have not hit mine yet this week since it has been our week off of P90X. But, come Sunday, it's on! Hmm, this weekend. Hubby mentioned that his co-worker's daughter is turning 1 and having a party tomorrow, so I guess we are going to that after church. There is a Kitchen Club meeting among our friends on Sunday with a soup theme and we were planning on going to that. The boys need to go see my MIL since it's been a few weeks (sigh....LOL), so we will probably go jump on the trampoline over there since it is the only place where my allergies don't get all fired up. It's supposed to warm up the next few days too. Maybe swimming before they close the pool down. Depends though since Othello woke up with a fever this morning, we may do nothing if he doesn't get better soon.

:D:D:D:D It's my last Slim 6 tonight! Yay! I am not leading the class every night after this, just on Sundays and Thursdays so I will have more time with the boys at night and so as not to interfere with my husband's class he does Monday, Wednesday, Friday with the staff at his school site. It has been a long 6 weeks for sure! Have a great weekend, everyone!

    Good evening, everyone!

I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm so ready to get back into working out. It was nice to sleep in this week and wake up about 6:45, but I miss the time spent with hubby pushing ourselves. We were previewing some DVDs to play at our Fit Clubs, so between flipping eggs on the griddle I was doing Hip Hop Abs with hubby. LOL Got a good sweat for sure!

We went to my in-law's today and hubby spent most of the time on the roof cutting off overhanging tree branches for his mom and dad. The boys played on the trampoline with a water hose spraying, since Fall brought Summer with it. :oP My mother-in-law mentioned that one of the women that she knows through her dog shows wondered if she was interested in a house on 3 acres of land. My eyes lit up, so all 4 of us are going to go look at it tomorrow. We may go in together to buy it (since hubby and I don't have a credit score) and yay! It would be our first house. And with land! I pray that it all goes well.

    Have a great night!

Lisa - good luck with the house - keep us posted!

Here is my official weigh in and update - let's get this challenge going!

    Previous Week Weigh In: 224.8
    Calories to Burn: 4,496
Actual Calories Burned: 5,929 (wow - I surprised myself)

    Current Week Weigh In: 221
    Calories to Burn: 4,420

Hey Cori! Thanks for getting us started. :) Nice weight loss, by the way.

    Previous Week Weigh In: 161.2
    Calories to Burn: 3224
Actual Calories Burned: LOL I did a bad job entering it here, but it would be about 2400 since I only did Slim in 6

    Current Week Weigh In: 159
    Calories to Burn: 3180

Went today to go see 4 houses with land. One was absolutely horrible, one was a project for sure but had some good points, another one was ok (the land was nice though), and the last one was beautiful. I think we'll be going out with my in-laws again soon to go look at some more. It was an interesting trip for sure. We loved it out there though. So quiet and peaceful. About a 20 minute drive for hubby to go to work, so not too bad. We'll definitely think about it.

Started our hybrid this morning. Chest and Back in P90X. I can do Divebombers! yay! Those are some hard push-ups to do. :)

    Have a great Sunday.

Lisa - Are divebombers the ones where you push up and clap? That's crazy! You're getting so ripped...

Where did all of our members go? Seems like we go strong for a few days and then peter out. My fault too... I've been so busy!

Okay, mommies. Time for everyone's worst nightmare: my IUD fell out yesterday while I was going potty. Straight fell out of my body. I have it in a ziplock baggy and I'm going to see my gyno tomorrow. What an ordeal...

I'm still staying within my calories, and I tried to do the new kettlebell DVD yesterday, but Journey kept wanting me to pick her up. Then as soon as I did, she wanted down. It drove me nuts! But I love the variation available, and the amount of exercises you can pick from. It looks like it's going to be great for me! I get to stay home from work tomorrow and chill with the Bear, so while she's napping maybe I'll try to get a full workout in.

Keep it up with your challenge, ladies! I'm not participating because I know I don't work out every day and wouldn't even come close to measuring up. :o)

Lisa - When we were looking for our house (just bought 3 years ago) I was all excited, but it's really just exhausting  Good luck on your search! Quiet and peaceful was exactly what we went for, we ended up in a new development away from everything with tons of trails. You're gonna end up on one of those muscle magazines, lol. I've been slacking on the strength training - but you've motivated me to get back to it. I actually enjoy it, just been enjoying the calorie burn from cardio.

Kaitlyn - Gotta love little ones and their phases! I'm surprised I didn't lose weight when mine went through that up and down phase, since of course they both wanted to be picked up at once. Nice job staying within your calorie range! The new DVD sounds cool, hope you get some time to use it. Sorry about the IUD - sounds like a huge hassle! I've never used one, heard too many horror stories of them falling out

Waiting for dinner and then we're off for a bike ride. Yesterday was my rest day so I'm hoping my legs don't give up me (always seems to be worse after I've had a day off). Looked around for a used elliptical this weekend, didn't find one but did try some out. I forgot how much work they are. I used to be able to crank out an hour, and 2 minutes in I was sweating lol. Summer has decided to return, can't wait for the fall weather to get back so I don't have to wait until too late to work out. I was adventurous yesterday and tried spaghetti squash (I'm a very picky eater) - and surprise, surprise, I really liked it! Will definitely be adding that the rotation,

Hope all you mommas have a great week!

Cori - LOL I won't be on the cover, I just want to be fit. I love lifting. Something about it that makes me feel so strong. I burned a good 400 calories today doing Shoulders and Arms too. Yeah, the housing is a bit tiresome, but it has motivated me to push on. I'm just getting tired of paying rent. I think there is such a vast difference in the quality between the home machines and the $5000 Precor at the gym. I had a hard time doing 20 minutes on my elliptical when I used to knock out 75 on the one at the gym.

Mmmmm, spaghetti squash is one thing I have been eating since high school (of course back then my mom made it with a bunch of butter in it). I love it so much and my boys do too. I definitely need to buy some soon.

Summer arrived for sure. It was about 100 degrees yesterday here. Went to the pool for a little bit yesterday afternoon and around noon took the kids again. I, unfortunately, don't get to do much swimming. I just sit in the 2 ft deep pool with Gabriel and play around with him in there, but the twins are getting much more comfortable in the big pool. They are really swimming now and it is so cool to watch! I think we are supposed to be warm until Friday and then maybe start cooling down again. We need it to, for sure. About died yesterday doing Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit with the windows open, our fan on, and it was only 6 a.m.

Have a good day ladies. Come out, come out, wherever you are!!!

I had the Paraguard. She asked if I wanted to get a new one put in and give it a second shot, and I was like, ummm... NO! So I'm back on the NuvaRing. I was on it for four years before I got pregs, so I'm pretty comfortable with it. They gave me a pregnancy test and it came up negative, but they said to be aware of whether or not I miss my period. Awesome...

I got to stay home with my daughter today which is always so much fun! I really wish we could afford for me to stay home full time. I love these days. Plus, work has been SUPER crazy. My students are starting to wet themselves out of protest if they're not given a bathroom break immediately when they ask for one. Since we're on a bathroom schedule (the units aren;t allowed to mix with one another), they sometimes have to wait. Needless to say, it stinks! Literally! I hate it. I've lost all of my patience with this job.

Doing well with calories. Wasn't able to kettlebell today like I'd hoped. Try again tomorrow, I guess. Class tonight.

Kaitlyn - I had the Paragard after the twins and I just couldn't handle it. My TOM was so much heavier and more painful. I like the Mirena, but I could see why you would say no after having it fall out! Oh my! That does literally stink about your students. One more month until you hear, right? Praying that you get in. I am working so hard right now on being able to stay home all the time and not have to go to work. Even though I work part-time, it adds a lot of stress to my day when I have to go in and I just feel like we miss out on a lot of things that I would like to do as a family.

I have been having kind of a hard time lately. I've been hungry and craving stuff I haven't for a while. I ran out of my Shakeology early because of the cleanse and yesterday I realized that the 4 days without it really made a difference in how I feel. I found a packet last night and felt so much better and decided to just start the day off with my husband's flavor this morning. I feel so much better already!

    Have a great day!

OH! I wanna join! I'm a single mom of two little girls, and I work full time. Trying to find the time to exercise and take care of myself is a daunting task, but I've managed to do it for one whole month! I want to be healtier for my girls, so I'm not so exhausted after working all day, then coming home and not having the energy to not only do EVERYTHING but spend time with my kiddos. I joined MFP about a month ago. I'm down about 7lbs, but I think I've gained a pound or two back (I'm not getting on the scale until Friday).

So there you go. Sign me up!

Lisa - I envy you. My parents own their own company, and when we were growing up my mom was an occasional worker. My dad ran the entire thing, and often worked 12-18 hour days. But my mom was mostly a stay-at-home. She would take us into the office with her, or go in by herself, only a few days a month. It worked really well for our family structure. I think that's a lot of the reason why I wish I could stay home. That, and the fact that Journey is so much frickin fun! I loved being home with her yesterday. She's cracks me up. Sorry you're out of Shakeology. Better reorder!

Mommyhaven - Welcome! Glad to have you :o)

Back at work this morning. Boo. It's so disgusting in here. Apparently one of the students peed twice yesterday while I was out. I'm so disgusted. The end of the month can't come fast enough! I need to know! haha! If you are of a praying lifestyle, please do so for me. I really need to be accepted to the nursing program.

Hump day... how is everyone's week going so far?

Kaitlyn - febreze! I ordered some on Friday when I saw I was out. Unfortunately, it takes like a week to get here with processing and UPS shipping from Ohio. I will definitely pray for you.

Mommyhaven - sent you a friend request. Welcome! We just started a 90 day challenge on Sunday if you would like to join us. I think the details are on the previous page on this thread. If you want to get started with it, feel free to join in!

We're going swimming again as soon as the twins finish art and the swimsuits and towels finish drying. LOL I have to take advantage of this weather because it won't be here for much longer. :D

Welcome mommyhaven! How old are your girls? When I started I just tried to do exercise I could include my kids in: walking, swimmin, biking, etc. It's tough but I'm determined to make me a priority too.

Kaitlyn - Eeeeewwww! I don't think I could handle that! You expect gross from your job as mom - not from random people with no manners. Glad you had a good time with Journey on your day home. It's hard being away from them, they grow so stinking fast. I feel awful that I miss stuff - but I honestly don't know if I've got it in me to be a stay home mom. My husband has much more patience than I do, so my kids are pretty lucky to have him as the stay home parent. Take a trip to Mesquite - maybe you'll get lucky and win millions

Lisa - It's been pretty warm here too. Of course all the outdoor pools are closed for the season already, so we'd have to swim inside and that's not fun when it's a nice day. Hope your Shakeology shows up soon for you - I don't think I've ever heard you down in the dumps before!

Woohoo - almost time to go home so only 2 more workdays this week! Tomorrow is hubby's 34th birthday, old man  Then about a week later is my daughter's 6th birthday. I've been sad lately seeing all my kids growing up. I'm glad I had them close together but I miss having little ones around.

Cori - Gabriel's 3rd birthday is tomorrow. I hear you on that too. The twins turn 9 in about 3 weeks and looking at them growing up and Gabriel, well I'm happy I have no more babies for the most part, but I have no more babies. I'm doing better today, swiped hubby's Greenberry this morning. LOL Yesterday was just a tough day in general. Hubby left before I finished making his food. He had his phone on silent so wasn't answering and when I went to his school sites to give him his bag of food, he wasn't there and they hadn't heard from him. Worried me because I know how he gets when he had little water and food in him - he ended up being at a different school that day and had forgotten to tell me about it. But, I guess that emotional eating side of me still creeps up every now and then when I am really stressed out. Ugh. Staying at home is sometimes the biggest PITA, but I couldn't imagine daycare. I may however put the bigger boys in school next year. I need to pray about that.

Lord, help me. I just baked 6 mini train cakes for Gabriel's birthday tomorrow and a 9" round cake (that one will be frozen for next month). The smell is divine and I need to get these out of my house. LOL 3 of them will be eaten tomorrow by the boys and I guess I will take the other 3 to some little kids in the neighborhood who Gabriel knows. I'm not really having a party for him, we're going to go to the Air Show this weekend since he loves airplanes.

    Happy Birthday Gabriel!!!

Lisa - You're a regular betty crocker! I alwasy tease my hubby because me makes (and decorates) the cakes for the kids' birthdays. Not sure how he'll manage this year since he's losing weight with me! I don't blame you for worrying about your husband, I would have been in panic mode. I feel really fortunate that the only "daycare" my kids have had is my mom. She watched the boys were their babies, and when I got pregnant with my daughter we decided hubby would stay home. It wokrs out now - I couldn't afford daycare for 5 kids that's for sure!

We did a bike ride last night, and usually I plan out the route but my husband kind of took the lead last night. It was tough! I'd say about 80% was uphill, and I was feeling it. He had a hockey game later that night so we couldn't slow down or take a rest or he'd be late. I was cursing him the whole way, but it felt awesome when I got home and knew I had pushed myself and finished. I know when I started this I would not have made it 1/4 of the way so that felt really good! I treated myself with a Special K chocolate/peanut butter protein bar (my new love, lol).

LOL well the cakes aren't decorated. I don't think that they will be either. I just used a molded cake pan. I may go pick up some of the gel writers to do some details, but not a huge layer of frosting. The cake has plenty of sugar in it already! Awesome job on the bike ride. There are several times that hubby takes the lead and I curse him under my breath on our bike rides, but you are right, it feels amazing when you are done.

We had Legs and Back from P90X this morning. We haven't done this workout for about 6 weeks and we were both anxious for it. I found though that doing Slim in 6 absolutely helped me for this workout. I was able to go deeper in my squats and lunges and my form was a lot better too. Had the most sweat I have ever had doing that workout.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for my little man! Have a great day!

It'S FRIDAY! Woot woot! So excited...

Lisa - Happy birthday to your baby boy yesterday! Sorry I missed it. Your cakes sound adorable. I love to bake, but rarely have the desire to consume it. I just like the process.

Cori- Nice work on the bikes. My mom leads cycling tours all over the country, and she's always trying to get me to take up the sport. I'd be more than happy to, but can't afford to get a bike. Maybe I can talk my mom into buying me a used beach cruiser or something. Mesquite sucks. Part of why we like to go to Vegas is to get away from all the St George people that drive us crazy. But everyone from here goes to Mequite, which defeats the purpose. Although my girlfriends and I like to go play bingo there :o)

What do you guys have planned for the weekend? Jeremy's doing a tile job for my dad's friend, so he'll be working. Journey and I will probably just hang out. I have a chem test to study for. Just glad to get away from the smelly classroom!

Kaitlyn - lol, yeah it really does suck! Christmas is coming, ask mom for a used bike from "santa".

Not sure on the weekend, but I think we're going to go to a cornmaze on Saturday, tis the season. They have pony rides and hay ride and veggie catapults, lol. Sunday my father-in-law wants us to go with him and his other half target shooting. The kids enjoy it and I can get in some walking around.

I've been rotating my workouts between biking and walking this week, and have added in strength training every other day. I'm seeing the results (down 3.8 so far this week). I really want to hit my goal of under 200 by Christmas! Thanks for the challenge idea Lisa, just what I needed to make this end of year push!
