Round 6! I'll be continuing my goals of tracking at least 10,000 steps a day, tracking my water intake, and exercising when I have it on my calendar. I'd like to lose 2 lbs this round.

5/13 179.0 lb I'm both happy with and suspicious of this weigh-in. We celebrated a rainy Mother's Day at my parents house where I had three beers, a cheeseburger, and pasta salad. Then, my boyfriend and I drove home separately because I needed to drop off my brother and he needed to let out the dog. I decided to surprise him with some cannoli chips and dip and he decided to surprise me with a cheese pizza for dinner. 🤦‍♀️ I only got in 8,226 steps due to the rain and had about 40 oz of non-calorie drinks. I have a light day of calories already logged in my diary to hopefully maintain this weight, but I won't be surprised if it creeps up as my weekend choices catch up with me.
5/14 180.6 lb 11,788 steps were tracked yesterday and I had 73 oz of water and non-calorie drinks. I'm planning on going to the gym after work today. Breakfast and lunch are light to help with whatever calories are in the dinner provided by the boyfriend. I haven't really discussed my weight loss goals with him and I don't have any expectations for him to get a healthy meal for us. He and I eat differently; he will stop when he gets full and I'm a lifetime member of the clean plate club. My thinking is that since I'm looking to create long term habits, I should be learning to make the appropriate exercise and food choices to have a few higher calorie meals a week. So far, I'm enjoying the progress I'm making.
5/15 179.8 lb 19,874 steps and 66 oz of water and non-calorie drinks were tracked. I burned 350 calories on the elliptical at the gym, which was great because dinner was homemade steak and cheese sandwiches with tater tots and one beer. I've got a staff meeting this afternoon, followed by a long dog walk (about two miles if my Fitbit is accurate), and I'm ending the evening with pub trivia with the family.
5/16 179.6 lb Onward and downward! 14,268 steps and 59 oz of water and non-calorie drinks were tracked. We blew the final question at trivia, as we typically do, and I felt satisfied with two beers instead of my usual three. I'm planning on walking the dog for two miles and doing level one of the 30 Day Shred after work and then I'll be making chicken lettuce wraps for dinner.
5/17 179.6 lb We have about a month left in the school year and it certainly feels that way. I tracked 16,032 steps yesterday and had about 70 oz of water and non-calorie drinks. I've been drinking way too much Coke Zero, so I'm going to try limit myself to two cans a day. I walked the dog for one mile and did my workout after taking an unplanned afternoon nap. I'll be heading to the gym after work today and then I'll be preparing turkey meatballs over zoodles for dinner.
5/18 178.6 lb Feeling pleasantly sore today. I met my step goal with 13,640 steps, burned 350 calories on the elliptical, and had 61 oz of water and non-calorie drinks. I'll be doing lots of yard work today to get it ready for a get-together next weekend and I'm looking forward to a dinner out with my boyfriend tonight.
5/19 178.8 lb 12,945 steps that were mostly yard work. Dinner was mussels, fries, beer and ice cream, so I was basically eating at maintenance by the end of the day. I only had about 40 oz of water. I'll be walking around a botanical garden with my mother today followed by a late brunch, so I'm hoping to maintain this weight for the next couple of days.
5/20 179.0 lb Same weight as last Monday, but I'm much less suspicious of it. It's been nice to be consistently out of the 180's. The gardens were beautiful yesterday and brunch was a delicious treat. 11,164 steps were tracked and I had about 30 oz of water. I'll be taking the dog for a long walk between school and the last jazz band rehearsal of the year. Meals are already logged for today with room for a beer or two if I want.
5/21 181.6 lb Not at all worried. I can think of several possible reasons for the uptick: my TOM is due either today or tomorrow, I need to drink more water, two restaurant meals over the weekend are now showing up on the scale, stress from thinking about our spring concert this Thursday. It's all good. I tracked 12,557 steps yesterday and had 40 oz of water and non-calorie drinks. I had a funny NSV yesterday. I have two pairs of size 16 dress pants that are too big, but I've still been wearing because I don't want to buy new ones for the last few weeks of school. I was playing with my dog in the backyard and they definitely slid off of my bottom as we were running around! Good thing we were in the privacy of the backyard!
5/22 180.6 lb TOM arrived this morning. 19,868 steps were tracked, I burned 350 calories on the elliptical and I had 54 oz of water. Food was good and the boyfriend reheated our lingering turkey meatballs for dinner so I know my sodium was a reasonable amount. We're having a final concert band rehearsal and pizza party after school. I've already logged two slices and brought a light lunch to help keep my calorie goals. After the party, we'll be setting up the stage risers, I'll be picking up the dog from day care, and then we have trivia. I'm looking forward to a busy day and seeing you all in the next round!

05/13-325.4- I know it’s only .2 up from yesterday and that it’s a normal fluctuation but it doesn’t make me feel better about it. I would love to start a round at or under the previous one.
05/14- 325.2- got married yesterday and went about 700 calories over my allotted, but you don’t get married every day. I expect an uptick in the next couple of days.
05/15- 324.2- lowest weight I’ve seen since starting this! Woo hoo!
05/16 323.8- hoping this isn’t a false low! I went a little overboard on the peanut butter (my biggest weakness) so I’m surprised to see this number!
05/17- 324.2- so it was a false low, but that’s okay! Going to stay on track today!!
05/18 323.8- maybe not a false low after all! Woo!
05/19- 322.6- I went over my calories yesterday, ate poorly, but did yoga... so maybe it all balances out? Here’s hoping!

05/21- 322.0- woo hoo! I had a fairly good day yesterday and kept up on my water. I didn’t get my yoga in, but I will today!

5/15 172.9 I'm pretty happy with that number considering some of the questionable choices I made while visiting my sick friend. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. He is stable but still in critical condition. I drove home yesterday; I had to come to work today. Luckily I have a job that allows me to take 3 unexpected vacation days with no warning or penalty. I think what saved me weight wise is that I walked twice a day. I found a couple of nice trails close to the hospital in case I needed to go back quickly. Sitting for 12 or 14 hours in the hospital would have been too much. I can tell I'm stressed, MS is making my legs tingle and despite sleeping well my body is aching all over. I'm trying to decide if I should walk tonight. Part of me thinks it would make me feel good mentally, part of me thinks my body needs a break.

5/16 171.2 Maybe all that walking made a difference. I don't know. I took off yesterday afternoon. Came home and napped for an hour or two then planted flowers and did everything I could to relax. I am feeling much better today. My friend is still stable which is all we can ask for right now.

5/17 171.2 I'm still happy because this weight is lower than my round goal. Of course, I'd love to go even lower in the next 5 days but I'm just going to stick with the program and see what happens. I haven't walked since Monday. I looked it up on Mapmyfitness and I walked 20 miles last week. Stress walking at it's best. I wanted to go last night but it was in the '90s so no walking outside and the thought of going to the gym didn't appeal to me. It's going to be in the high 80's but cloudy this afternoon, I think I'll be alright. Happy Friday ya'll.

5/18 171.5 I did walk 2.5 miles but was getting hot and stopped. Ate at maintenance, so the slight bump is not freaking me out. Definitely getting a walk in this morning then yard work before the rain comes.

5/19 170.4 I didn’t expect that. I wasn’t able to walk due to rain. My friend is doing ok. He was off the ventilator but he wasn’t getting enough oxygen so they put him back on. The nurse called and put the phone up to his ear. My nephew and his gf were here and we all talked. The nurse said he smiled through the call. It’s hard being so far away.

5/20 No scale. Flew to New Orleans for work today. Spent a couple of hours walking around the French Quarter and a short mile on a trail that was actually kind of boring. The one that I wanted to walk that is near a swamp was flooded My watch says I walked 8.78 miles. Hopefully, that will make up for the beignets I won't know until Friday. Still tracking. I ate back all my exercise calories plus 84... Don't care I've never been here before and the rest of the week will be meeting after boring meeting.

5/21 No scale Slept so well after my early morning flight and walking all day. Breakfast provided had fruit and little else, I suspect trying to be good will be very challenging this week.

5/22 No scale Had a great day yesterday. The convention is a little boring but New Orleans is great. I went to the gym, then went to NOLA (one of Emeril’s restaurants), then walked around the French Quarter for an hour and had an ice cream. I know I had to guess on everything but I feel I did well in calories. Nothing too heavy and a LOT of walking.

Late to the party this time.
I've struggled the last few rounds. My winter blues did not go away but descended into a bigger problem. On Tuesday evening I realized I had eaten 5 chocolate bars and a package of candy in one afternoon! So my goal for this round is to stop the sugar/chocolate binges and get back to tracking. yesterday was my first day "back"

5/16-160-I made it back and am finally near a scale. I found some Atkins protein bars to keep handy when I am hungry.

5/18-162-Salty dinner with beers last night....and that was even after I walked 7 miles and cleaned the rain gutters. Oh, well, so what...I am just thankful I am in good enough shape to do all of that. I will head out for a big walk this morning before my quilting class.
5/19-I refused to weigh after poor choices.
5/20-165-Ugh! At least the weekend is over and my goal is to not drink alcohol during the week and eat well. I got a big walk in this morning.
5/21-166-Oops! I went for a big walk yesterday and then ate too much heavy food. Today will be better.
5/22-162-I went on a good walk and went to yoga. I might try that again today. Eating good and lots of water are key for me.

Gaaa. But ok, I did have some snacks & goodies at the social hour yesterday, so some of this is water. But I really have to stop this trend, get back in control, and lose the weight I've regained over the winter and spring. This is no good, and I don't understand why I'm sabotaging myself like this. I see my integrative doctor this morning - following up re. inflammation and vit. levels (both of which are much, much better) - and I'm going to talk to her about it (though she's quite overweight herself - go figure). Anyway, I keep saying "next round I'll do better" and then I don't. Gotta stop making excuses. (OTOH, I can't actually have gained 3.4 pounds in 8 days, so there's that.)

Not too bad, considering I made rhubarb ginger crisp yesterday and had a decent serving. But I was very good the rest of the day, and hey, rhubarb doesn't last all year! 5/20 - 166.0 Threw all caution to the wind this weekend and just enjoyed every bite in company of my two adult children who have busy lives and both starting their own families. Both have chosen wonderful partners but being able to spend time with just them together was rare and wonderful. Today I will go back to counting calories, avoiding sugar, getting steps, eating more vegetables, drinking more water, etc. Feeling so blessed this morning.

5/12 151.2, second day back from vacation. Yesterday was at 153.5 so happy to see some of the weight was water. My TOM is coming this week so just hoping to be back where I was at the end of Round 75
5/13 150.5, another nice drop. This is my first time tracking after a vacation. I’m truly amazed how much sodium is in restaurant food. Only .7 lbs away from where I was before the 10 day trip. I am also encouraged that if you go back to eating right, vacation gain isn’t the end of the world and it’s ok to loosen some of your reins.
5/14 149.3, new low! My TOM will be later this week so I expect a temporary gain over the next few days, but encouraged that I can get to this number again by Sunday.

5/20 147.4, the class was good, but really challenging. I’ve been doing a lot of cardio exercises (elliptical and spinning, but not much strength so mountain climbers, burpees, etc are still difficult but easier than ten lbs ago!
5/21 148.3, meals all prepped and planning on doing 70 minutes at gym before I head to Nashville for the holiday. This was a reset round as will be the latter part of next round.
5/22 148.8, made it my goals this round. Now that I’ve seen a 147 number really hoping to end around there for the next round! Might be difficult to do with Memorial Day but confidant it’s not if but when

05/21 …..194.0 ….. Yesterdays Stats: 1668 Calories In / 2175 Calories Out. 10,317 Total Steps & 4.37 Total Miles. IF 16:8 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I charged my fitbit but slept in the 4 hour range. I took a 30 minute walk. Traveled today & forced to travel again tomorrow. I am trying to make some better choices but the scales are unforgiving of every single sniff & misstep so we shall see what tomorrow & the next day brings. @quiltingjaine Yay on the 60’s channel & the inspired dancing. I can’t WAIT to get my kitchen finished, my livingroom back & my life in order. In the meantime, I’ll boogie when I can. It’s nice to know I’m not alone!


05/22 …..194.6 ….. Early weigh-in after travel. More traveling today. Too many carbs & calories yesterday though I can see how my portions have gotten way smaller over the past year. 05/22 – 242.6 lbs. – (3.4 lbs down this round!!) This was an awesome 1st round. Having a place where I felt I had to be accountable was key for me. I plan to eat a homemade salad for lunch today. I’m definitely feeling some pain in my legs, so I’m debating about doing a light 6 minute run later when it's cooler or just taking a rest day tonight. See y’all in Round 78!!

After a bad end of last round I’m hopeful of staying on track and getting close to my first 50 pound loss.


05/13 335.2 A nice beginning of round loss. I’m hopeful of getting back and beyond the low I had middle of last round. I was fully on track yesterday and hopefully that trend will continue.

05/14 333.4 I’m cautiously optimistic about this weigh in. I was very on track with everything yesterday. I know that all the supposed gain of the last few days was water retention and this weight is very close to last weeks low. If I continue on track I might hit my mini goal this round.

05/15. 332.6 And back to a new low. I’m happy to see the weekend gain gone.

05/16 331.2 That’s on track and it looks like the last of the water gain is gone. I’ve hit my 50 pound lost goal and if I stay on track the rest of this round I might see my monthly goal weight too.

05/17 330.2 I’ see if this sticks, but I won’t be too surprised by a slight uptick. It’s not unusual for that to happen after a couple of large drops. I’m hopeful though because this is a half pound from my goal for the month.

05/18 330.0 Almost there, if I stay on track and low sodium I’ll see my goal for the month tomorrow. If not I know that I’ll see it before the end of the round.

05/19 329.0 I’m not sure about this free fall of my weight. I’ve been on track with everything so maybe some of it is from water retention or something. I expect that it will stop or even bounce soon.

05/20 327.4 Still in free fall. I’m still holding my breath and waiting on the bounce up. I’ll be surprised if I don’t see one this round.

05/21 328.8 I’m more than okay with this bounce up. At about 6am I had a coughing fit that resulted in a bunch of water being drank before my weigh in. That combined with a high sodium day yesterday and being under the weather, well the bounce up was going to happen. I’m just happy that it wasn’t higher and that I remained under my goal for the month. I’m on track and I’ll see some more drops soon.

05/22 327.4 And there’s the drop from yesterday’s gain. It looks like I lost last rounds weight in addition to this rounds, plus a little more for good measure. I achieved both my 50 pounds lost and my monthly goal weight for this month.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.

I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40.

May 13 - 176.2 - had a lot of carbs and salt over the weekend and really feeling heavy today. Hopefully lots of water will help.

May 14 - 177.2 - my stomach is a heavy ball of nerves today, does that affect the scale any?

May 15 - 178.4 - got through my interview and really had a great day whether I get the job or not. Food wise, not so much, but Ill be better the rest of the week.

May 16 - 177.4 - had a pretty laid back day yesterday. Managed to keep food under control by crafting most of the day. Tonight is my swimming lesson.

May 17 - 174.5 - this was a surprise to see this morning. Had a wonderful swim lesson last night and lost of calories left over for the day.

May 18 - 176.4 - very late night and early morning could be a contributing factor. Also, the frozen pizza and cheesies probably weren’t the best decision.

May 19 - out of town no scale.

May 20 - 177.6 - two very high carb days in a row and way over calorie count for two days. A couple days of regular activity and lots of water should help.

May 21 - 177.4 - another high calorie day and not a lot of exercise yesterday. Seemed to have slept better this morning so hopefully a better day today.

May 22 - 178.8 - another crappy food day yesterday. I also so very tired and ended up sleeping a lot.
