Whats your reason for working out?

Primarily for resynthesis of ATP from energy-dense substrates, although increased stimulation of ventilation and subsequent decline in blood pH also play an important role. Thanks to increased vasodilatory metabolites acting on pre-capillary sphincters, though, I’m noticing increased intramuscular arterial flow linearly with increased oxygen uptake, resulting in maximum cardiac output and oxygen-saturation.9

At 46, it makes me feel like I still am "keeping it together". I still love the energy boost and the soreness from a heavier day also. And let face it, we all like to look good2

FOR looks and being 50 I want more strength as I age. I am a firm believer that as u age u workout more not less. Might be gross to some but I love that sweaty stinky feeling after a good workout!0

Health?
Strength?
Functionality?
Looks?
Medals?
All of the above! I started working out, lifting, walking, biking, and eventually running, in order to help control my blood glucose and improve my diabetes. Gaining strength was an unexpectedly fun benefit, which also made me more able to function in my daily activities. At the age of 50 and starting from morbidly obese, I never expected to be “hot” again, but lately all kinds of people are chatting me up and my husband is delighted with my appearance. And recently (when I can avoid injury) I have discovered I am fast enough to win age group medals at some local events.0 -
