Looks, function, health in that order

At least you don't hide it. I, too, train for vain reasons. Any good health as a byproduct is just icing on the cake.

Yea in my case I'm not running bulk/cut cycles for my health at this point, so I need another motivation to do it!

Through anorexia (only exercise I did was walking the same tiny square in my room at night), I got down to a very low weight but still felt deeply unhappy with my body
In recovery, I became weight restored and was still deeply, heartbreakingly unhappy
Last year, I would run 6K x2 a week and was still unhappy

Working out, three times a week, properly and in a schedule, is the only thing I have yet to try. I feel like I'm finally in a good, healthy mind set to approach this without (hopefully) becoming obsessed with the scale again. This time, I'm going after happiness within myself above the mirror and scale.

Love the adrenaline and how the body feels and looks with hardwork day by day. It’s a lifestyle.

Now it's just for therapy. I'm happy with my physique so working out is for my health, both mental and physical.

Nothing quite compares to angry music/ gangsta rap while lifting heavy weights.

Because I invested all this money on bikinis, so it would be a shame if they didn't fit.

Also, I am shortish (<5'3") and oldish (50 this month), and my maintenance calories leave me little wiggle room...so if I burn a few though exercise I can have the occasional ice cream, or brownie (or brownie sundae for that matter).

And I enjoy it...it energizes me.

So I can fit back into my LBD that I wore to Vegas 3 years ago. After that, so I can fit into my prom dress that I wore 20 something years ago which my daughter happens to fit in now 😒

To be the healthiest I can be for my kiddo. Plus it helps my mood and mental health and helps me rid of negative energy! :)
