Too few?

I’ve successfully lost 25 pounds so far this year but have reached a standstill. The scale ranges between 177-178 the past month and I can’t get it any lower. I have realized that I have been eating between 1100-1300 calories a day. I work out 4-5 days a week for 30-60 minutes (spinning). Is the scale not moving because of too few calories? Or am I just in a plateau?

That would be a pretty low intake for a very petite, sedentary female. With the amount of exercise you do, you should have higher intake. Why do you only average 1200 calories? Unless you have a large amount of weight to lose, setting goals at -2# per week is not realistic or sustainable. Look at your goals, eat accordingly and eat back some/most of your exercise calories.

    That isn't really a thing.

Eating too few calories is a bad idea for many reasons, but it won't prevent you losing weight. What is far more likely is that you're underestimating your calories or overestimating your exercise; small inaccuracies matter a lot more when you have less to lose.

Are you weighing everything you eat on a food scale? Including cooking oils, vegetables, drinks and pre-portioned items such as slices of bread? Choosing good database entries?

If you open up your diary, some of the experienced people here may be able to give you some pointers. Alternatively, you may be doing everything right and be about to experience a 'whoosh' :)

all of this. i'd say the likely issue is errors in logging. accurate weighing and logging comes with time and practice, while straigthforward we allll made lots of errors alone the way.
