i weighed in for the first time and didn't lose water weight. is this normal?

i started my weight loss journey on the 12th of august and then weighed myself on the tuesday (13th) and then weighed myself on the tuesday after (20th) and i only lost like one and half pounds and i'm aiming to lose one pound a week but i thought i would lose more water weight and i'm. a bit concerned. is this normal? what if i diner lose any fat but those one and a half pounds was water weight??
