08/31 - 123.4 :: was very active and unintentially ate far lower than my calorie limit because of being busy through out the day. Made healthy choices. Last round was slow progress. This is a kicker to start with.
09/01 - 124.4 :: last drop was surprising, seems numbers evened out. Over calorie limit by < 100 cals. Not very active. Ate healthy.

08/31: 203.4(This is my first round. As long as I’ve had MFP on my phone, this is my first week speaking in forums. I’ve been tracking this time for almost a week. Squats and walking 3 miles each day for 10 days. I’ll find my rhythm soon.
09/01: 201.8 I’m not sure what I did to lose. I went over calories by 85 calories and I didn’t walk my 3 miles yesterday. I did get on the elliptical for 20 minutes but nothing intense. I believe I’ve been building muscle walking on incline and doing squats. Muscle does weigh more than fat so maybe after 11 days of walking/squats my body is finally showing me some results. I did start walking around the same time I started logging calories so I wasn’t seeing any movement or it would go down 2lbs for a day and then go back up 2 days later. I did watch my carbs yesterday and I drank 96 oz water.

At the beginning of round 87 I was 121.0 and after the 7 day cruise I am 122.0. I tracked my food as best I could on the ship with no internet.

8/23 120.5 Today is packing day! I need to run to Walmart and pick up some non-food items. I hate Walmart but it’s so convenient!
8/24 120.0 Flying to Long Beach/boarding ship for 7 days with no scale. Beautiful weather. FOOD BPC coffee, burger, onion, some fries and cheese sauce brisket, baguette, and broccoli
8/25 NWI Very foggy morning, BPC coffee, steak and eggs, few fries, 1/2 slice of tomato, spinach, shrimp cocktail, shrimp , lobster, prime rib, 2 onion rings, horseradish
8/26 NWI Cabo San Lucas BPC, salad, blue cheese dressing, olives, veal, Greek salad x 2, Spinach and ricotta stuffed Portobellos with butternut squash, vodka & soda. Anchored in Cabo

8/31 NWI Up before 5AM! BPC on board. Back to Long Beach and fly home. Will add final weight on 9/1 which might be up due to travel but will be fine. Still fit in my size 4 shorts - good thing because that’s all I brought! El Pollo Loco double chicken avocado salad. Half for lunch when we got home and half for dinner after picking up DGD and her friends at the airport, taking them for groceries and dropping them at their hotel.

08/31-208.9 Plan today is for hubby and I to organize the bedroom closet and storage room. Husband started back up on MFP this week. He lost 50lbs easily a couple of years ago just by stopping to eat junk food, but he wasn't ready to make any other changes to lose the next 40-50lbs and he has maintained his weight for the last 3 years. This week he started to track his food and he was shocked on how many calories he was eating.
09/01-208.9 Did not drink a lot of water yesterday and had more snacks then usual. Organized and clean storage room yesterday and working on bedroom today. Ankle still sore, so went out for a walk instead. Strength coach today and then going out to lunch.

8/31: 224.0 (-1.6)/18.9 (-0.2). A reward from heaven because I finally went to the gym? I went out to dinner with my wife, and split a sandwich with her. It was relatively healthy, but my willingness to portion control was what made my night a success.
9/1: 225.6 (+1.6)/19.1 (+0.2). I did my best last night with what I could regarding food (quality/quantity), at least as much as I could while out at a restaurant I love. It's likely my previous weigh-in was a slight exaggeration (weighed late) and that it was affected by me working out the night before. I'm going to the gym this morning, and I'm going to try my best to keep things under control today (wife's birthday party). If I have alcohol, it will be in the form of a mixed drink or two (spirit + diet soda). Going to the gym this morning (right now) to try to give myself a little wiggle room tonight. Oh, and to get myself into good habits! :-)

Prep work: I made a week's worth of chicken-veggie soup (135 calories per) to have for lunch every day. I went to farmers market and stocked up on fresh fruit and veggies. I bought Walden Farms fat-free, sugar-free, carb-free, everything-free dressings. I got 2 packages of pre-sliced organic fresh chicken strips from Sprouts and have them in the freezer to pop on the skillet or panini-press anytime I need a protein pick-me-up. I made sugar-free cherry jello and loaded it with fresh berries to snack on (feels like a real dessert!). I bought Hansen's Zero calorie, Zero everything soda to put in my wine glass instead of my beloved wine. I'm set for the next 10 days, I think!13 -

08/31 …..192.6 LOSS ….. I’ve changed my color code system. Happy fuchsia is a loss on the scale, sad blue is a gain. I’m so happy & grateful for this loss today. I am going to be traveling on a day trip today. Bad timing since I’ve been on a roll. I will try to be mindful. I have already taken a short walk this morning before I leave & I will take a longer one tonight when I get home. I will try to be mindful of my diet with NO DESSERTS. Yesterday’s stats: 1070 Calories In / 2752 Calories Out. 22 Net Carbs. 13,387 Total Steps & 5.66 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 1 minute. I cleaned my own home at moderate pace for 77 minutes & I walked at moderate 3.0 mile pace for 67 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 665. Good luck everyone on this round! 09/01 …..192.6 I had a day trip yesterday so not as much movement as I would have liked. No change on the scale. Happy for that as I did have a dish of sherbet yesterday with a travel friend. Yesterday’s stats: 1526 Calories In / 2666 Calories Out. 63 Net Carbs. 14,887 Total Steps & 6.3 Total Miles. 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept a wonderful 6 hours & 49 minutes! Woo Hoo! That is so much better than my usual. I fit in a 17 minute walk before my day trip out of town and I got in another 74 minutes of a brisk walk finishing just before dark. I also got in 109 minutes of misc. housework & etc last night. Total calorie burn was 931. I hope all the USA is enjoying the beautiful Labor Day Weekend, and that all others are having a lovely Sunday!

8/31: 197.8 (+/- 0) I didn’t think yesterday was horrible but I guess it wasn’t great. Weighed in today after my light breakfast. But not gaining is ok by me. Guess I’ll make this a 9 day challenge.
9/1: 199.0 (+1.2) well this challenge isn’t working so much so far. I did good all day yesterday. Even went to a wedding and didn’t eat. Ate McDonalds late but only half the food. Still early. Still hopeful

At the beginning of round 87 I was 121.0 and after the 7 day cruise I am 122.0. I tracked my food as best I could on the ship with no internet.

8/23 120.5 Today is packing day! I need to run to Walmart and pick up some non-food items. I hate Walmart but it’s so convenient!
8/24 120.0 Flying to Long Beach/boarding ship for 7 days with no scale. Beautiful weather. FOOD BPC coffee, burger, onion, some fries and cheese sauce brisket, baguette, and broccoli
8/25 NWI Very foggy morning, BPC coffee, steak and eggs, few fries, 1/2 slice of tomato, spinach, shrimp cocktail, shrimp , lobster, prime rib, 2 onion rings, horseradish
8/26 NWI Cabo San Lucas BPC, salad, blue cheese dressing, olives, veal, Greek salad x 2, Spinach and ricotta stuffed Portobellos with butternut squash, vodka & soda. Anchored in Cabo

8/29 NWI At sea brunch, burger, cheddar, hash browns, muffin, champagne, filet mignon, stuffed mushrooms.
8/30 NWI Last full day on ship at sea. Skipped brunch except for a few carby bites. Beef tenderloin with salad for lunch. Caprese salad, baked onion soup, prime rib, a little baked potato and baked Alaska.

8/31 NWI Up before 5AM! BPC on board. Back to Long Beach and fly home. Will add final weight on 9/1 which might be up due to travel but will be fine. Still fit in my size 4 shorts - good thing because that’s all I brought! El Pollo Loco double chicken avocado salad. Half for lunch when we got home and half for dinner after picking up DGD and her friends at the airport, taking them for groceries and dropping them at their hotel.
9/1 122.0 Back home in my own bed last night. Ship’s beds are comfortable but there’s no place like home!

08/31 298.2 Interesting. I’m happy with this as it should mean that I’m staying on track with my plans. Yesterday I was hungry for no real reason, this happens to me near ovulation. However I didn’t expect that at higher calories it would still happen and it’s something that I’ll have to watch out for.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

08/31 126.4 Well the 1.6 lb whoosh at the end of the round went right back up to previous weight so as usual have to wipe out the gain at the beginning before showing anything for the round - LOL. Dinner out the night before was heavy on sodium/carbs (although guesstimated calories were under), so may come back down after a day or so. Tried Xtrain today (20 min spin/tabata body weight exercises)!

08/31 64kg not sure why as I'm within my calories unless it's the exercise. I'm sure it will come off and I'm enjoying exercise. Was at work for the 1st day in 6 weeks yesterday and wearing clothes that fit... I got so many compliments!

09/02 63.0kg no idea what caused the random fluctuations recently but trend is down so that's good. Running this morning and gym tomorrow.
