I sure hope my October was better than my September after several health issues!

    I have a large yard (almost a full acre) and a push mower (no power drive) and live on a hill. It takes me two hours to mow the front and back. Do I count this as "walking" for my walking challenge? or "strength training" for a work out challenge? lol

    I guess you can count it as both! It is hard work pushing a mower. I count the STEPS because I wear a pedometer. Pedometers (as you know) don't show how hard you work other than time, steps etc. At least MINE does just that. I don't know about other types. It takes ME two days too mow our lawn. I do half one day and half the next. I will be 67 in a few days and can't push mow the whole yard like I did 10 years ago! lol....

    Thank you Jeanniewes, for your advice/suggestion. I decided to count my mowing as two miles walked and my shopping today as the same. I am a bit sore this morning, lol, but it is that "good" kind of sore.

    Oct. 1: Five mile walk (60 minutes)
    Oct 2: no walk due to thunderstorms
    Oct 3: Five mile walk (70 minutes, 4:30-5:40am)
    Oct 4: Two miles walked (mowing lawn)
    Oct. 5 Two miles walked (shopping)

    OUR weather has turned a bit cooler. I came home from Church Services, had a light lunch and took a 30 minute nap. It was still cool when I awoke so the girls and I did take a 2.5 Mile walk. I don't usually do Sundays but they are calling for 80% rain today and don't know if I will get much walking in....

    29.72 out of 160 miles

    After 113 days of walking at least 5 miles and over 11,000 steps I took a rest day yesterday. I felt my body needed it. Some little bones in my feet were hurting and I thought it best to rest. Feel better today. Today is Day 1 of the new streak. :smile:
