I've been battling chronic migraines for a few months so I've been prescribed a long term treatment which unfortunately has weight gain as the main side effect. I'll be trying... hopefully... to stick to this weight

Goals
1 - Track my calories daily
2 - Run (or gym) 3x week
3 - Water 1.5l
4.- Stay on current weight or less
Date – Weight in of the morning– Summary of the previous day:
10/30 - 154.6 yesterday was a quiet day, it's nice being on holiday and not doing anything for once. My daughter has a lot of school projects so that's taking up most of our time. I'll be going to the gym later.
10/31 - 153.6That was a surprise, but I did complete a very good workout at the gym yesterday with 35 min interval run on the treadmill, a first for me but I really liked it, which I followed up with 20 min mild elliptical workout. Food was on track. Still got the migraines even though the sport helps so much with them; I'm hoping the treatment will kick in soon, it can take between 2 - 8 weeks to see if it works.
11/01 - 154.2
11/02 - 155.0
11/03 - 156.2
11/04 - 156.2, Sorry for not keeping up and posting lately, the last few days have been a never ending Halloween and dinners parties where I didn't track so I'm not surprised about this. Also I haven't been as active due to the migraines. Back at work so the routine is easier and I've planned my meals for the week and I've prepared a big batch of meals that I've frozen to help in the evenings when I get home too tired to cook. But at least I feel good about starting again. I've got 5 days to make it up so I'm going to really make an effort
11/05 - 155.6, 1214 cal, Busy day yesterday catching up after a week's holiday. I had to restrain myself as I took a drive through MacDonalds for my daughter for dinner (I just had coffee). I'm hoping I'll be able to go to the gym at lunch time but the office is very busy and I don't have time in the evenings. It's too cold and wet to run outside for me, it really aggravates my migraines so I'll be running on the treadmill until the weather improves.
11/06 - 155.4 lbs, 1166 cal, 10.492 steps
11/07 - 154.4 lbs, 1323 cal, 16.283 Steps, A good day yesterday, above on calories but had a +900 deficit as I went for a nice long run/walk in the evening. I'm going to the gym at lunch time for a short workout. I'm trying to get into the habit of working out a little (20-30 mins) every day, and 1 day with a long workout. Also I've registered for my first ever running event for charity: a 6km for an association my mother was part of, women who have had breast cancer and help out newly diagnosed to deal with the illness. My daughter also wants to run it (11 year old) I'm so proud !! On another good note, the treatment for my migraines has started working and I'm feeling much less pain, I think the ergonomic pillow I bought is also helping
11/08 - 154.4 lbs (-0.0),1326 cal, 11.369 steps, 3.8 km interval treadmill run. I'm pleased I'm finishing this round with a slight loss even though I gained through the round. I'm looking forward to the next round as my migraines are definitely getting better. I've got some "me time" planned this weekend as my daughter is at her farther's so I'm planning healthy meals and exercise and rest

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

My goal is to stay as close to my daily calories and stay away from sugar. That's the one thing that makes me go over in a hurry.
11/03 134; avoided the usual Fri/sat bump
11/04 134.6: and there it is due to relaxing that I didn't post a usual high on Sunday! Thank goodness it is a week day and I can go back to my usual work week measured eating.
I'm going to break this weekend nonsense trend I do to myself.
11/05: 134.4 I met my step goal, and the only thing I wish I hadn't done was eat those darn Twix! But I logged them and ate fewer and went over by about 200. Not ideal because that's my maintenance number. I just have to remember if I get up to maintenance calories there's not going to be progress on the scale!
11/06: 134.4. met my step goal but succumbed to those kitkats. I didn't log last night but I will this morning just to keep accountable. Today is the day I don't have sugar! I can do this! Those sweets are keeping me from making progress. Focus!!!
11/07: 134.2 I was worried about the weight in this morning because I feel heavy and don't know why. So I'm relieved that it's not going the other way. I ate within 100 Cals of my goal so that was good. And Yay for me!! I stayed away from the kit Kat! Today is a big lunch at work and I plan to taste things but not gobble it all up since it will be full of fat and salt. I didn't work out yesterday because I was tired and realized I need a day off.
11/08: 133.8 I did great at lunch and dinner. Listened to my stomach when it said I had enough! But this weight is one ta which I tend to think I can relax so this weekend I really have to be mindful about staying on track.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 -183.6-
10/31 -183.6- My husband had an appointment yesterday so we had a fast food lunch. Calories were over but I am trying to keep them to about 1400 when I don't formally exercise. I was more active than normal yesterday and will be today even though I may not get to do actual exercise. For me, part of this is learning to have a healthy relationship with food in different circumstances and not to let anxiety get the best of me when I know things are not going according to my planned routine.
11/01 -183.7- Staying pretty steady.
11/02 -183.7- I have been a wreck mentally and emotionally the last few days. I overate a lot yesterday trying to quell the nausea I got from eating yogurt I spent two days making! I generally can't eat dairy products though
I keep trying for some reason. Lactaid helps but I forgot to take it. I think I am back on track today. My thought for the day: Good and bad things, sometimes really bad things, happen and I cannot fall back into using food to sooth myself when they do! I will think about other coping strategies today and make a list. I started crocheting a scarf last night to keep my hands and mind busy.
11/03 -183.7- I don't think I have ever held this steady, lol! I went for a good long walk yesterday and it helped my mental state immensely. I am planning another for today!
11/04 -183.4- Now that is better! I had another long walk yesterday that was good for my mental health but I may have overdone it just slightly because my back and legs hurt last night. I will work on finding balance.
11/05 -182.7- Going to go vote today (KY) and then take a walk. I am determined to be happy today and not let circumstances get to me.
11/06 -184.1- Yesterday was election day here in KY and I ate myself sick as the results were coming in. We still don't have an official winner but I think I will survive. Back at it this morning!
11/07 -183.6- Gotta to try and keep the downward trend going today. It's going to rain so no walk today but I have a furniture project to paint and grocery shopping to do in the rain so I should burn a few extra calories!
11/08 -182.7- 1.4 lb. loss this round. Not bad considering the stress over this last week or so. On to the next round!

10/30 – 145 – Did pretty well on calories and water yesterday. Aiming for the same today.
10/31 – 144.5 – OK!
11/01 – 145 – I’m going to really focus on staying in weight loss calories this weekend.
11/02 – 145.5
11/03 - 145
11/04 – 144.5 – I did try to eat well this weekend, but I won’t be surprised if I have a delayed bump up tomorrow. Either way, it’s nice to be down on a Monday.
11/05 – 145.5 – Although I ate well, exercised and drank my water yesterday, I had a feeling the weekend would catch up with me.
11/06 - 144.5 - I had an off site tax seminar today with a catered lunch. I skipped supper tonight, but I won't be surprised if I'm back up in the morning.
11/07 - 144.5
11/08 – 144.5 – This round I saw my weight trending down even with the weekend and a two day catered seminar. I’ll take it. See you next round!

11/08 - DNW - Last minute trip to BF's since youngest kid called me after work to invite me to his elementary school program last night. Then went to Old Chicago for dinner and to watch the game. They really have almost no primal/paleo options there. I got fish and chips and I'm feeling a bit bloated from that but its a much better choice than past normal fare. Long weekend ahead (Monday is Veteran's day and we have off work)
Previous Day's Comments10/30 - Um, whoa! I finished my ham&beans at lunch and had a small FiberOne bar as a snack to hold me over until dinner (I knew I had to cook so it'd be longer). Other than that, I stuck to a primal/paleo diet yesterday. Just didn't want to waste food so I finished it off. Today I have a ton of roasted mixed vegetables, some mashed butternut squash, and baked chicken breast for both lunch and dinner. Luckily I didn't have much in my house grocery-wise so cleaning out non-primal foods really wasn't hard at all. It was stuff that needed to be tossed anyway because it was on the older side. Now I need to make sure I meet 1200 minimum (I was 50cals under yesterday) and ideally 1500 with this change. Must buy appropriate snacks! Need to go grocery shopping anyway. I'm lacking frozen veggies (ideal given my travel schedule -- at least I know I won't waste it). Also, restarting IF because I felt amazing on it once my body adjusted and I miss that.
10/31 - I splurged a little with a single reese's pumpkin (pumpkin and trees are the best, I swear. Its gotta be the peanut butter to chocolate ratio!) Also had a granola bar because I needed SOMETHING to get through the day after lunch settled out. But I'm out of granola bars and the reese's was from my neighbor. Today is food truck day so I'm going to have to do my best with that. I know they have good options. Dinner is thawed and ready for cooking (zucchini spaghetti with homemade meat sauce). That will also give me lunch tomorrow! Black ice out so not sure if I'll get a good workout in. But trying to just move more throughout the day if I can.
11/01 - whoosh much? Wasn't expecting that, honestly. This Paleo/primal lifestyle really is making a difference. I'm already sleeping better, I don't have the bloat and swelling anymore and it's only been 3 days (and one completely true Paleo day yesterday as I had a treat a day the first two days as a matter of not wasting). Yesterday I didn't deal with my typical fatigue and grogginess at all. I feel great!
11/02 - DNW, DNP
11/03 - DNW, DNP
11/04 - At BF's all weekend. Kids made me eat a couple pieces of candy with them and unfortunately my BF is not all in on this paleo/primal lifestyle so I couldn't stick to it very well this weekend. But back on it starting today! TOM came so I'm not at all sure how weight will look tomorrow. I feel less bloated despite the weekend and TOM so I'm hoping I stuck to primal enough that it didn't set me back too much. I'm looking forward to the week ahead and all it has to offer!
11/05 - Kinda saw that coming. I'm so bloated! I made ham and bean soup last week, which I shared with my neighbors. Well, a neighbor decided to treat me to homemade taco pizza last night in return since he knows I LOVE tacos. I couldn't say no since he didn't know about my new primal/paleo way of eating prior to. And he then baited me with homemade cookies and his daughters were so upset when I originally said no, so I ate 2 cookies for them. I'm feeling it today. That, and TOM. I knew the bloat and heavy feeling had to show its ugly head. Hopefully its quick and done with soon. But onward! I have steak and veggies for lunch and I have salmon for tonight and chicken breasts thawing at home to cook up tonight for the remainder of the week. Just need to make sure I have enough veggies on hand. Also downloaded PokemonGo! for the BF's kids so I can play with them. Maybe it'll force me to get out and walk to the pokestops several blocks away when I'm not with them. I'll call that part of my "play" from the primal lifestyle.
11/06 - Didn't think I'd whoosh on back down to that low but I'm not complaining. Minus a few "cider" beers, I stuck to primal yesterday. Food truck today so have to watch what I order, but I'm challenging myself by not bringing a backup lunch to work. I know I can do it! Bloat is gone and I don't want it back (TOM still hanging around... hopefully last day of this heavy feeling) but that should be motivation enough to keep going.
11/07 - Um wow. I know this is from not eating enough. I need to include more fats in my diet. I get so full that I don't want to eat more but I think I ate around 800 calories and the couple of "cocktails" (as jack daniels calls them) brought me up to around 1000cals. Oops. Goal was 1500. But stuck to paleo minus my cocktails.

.8lbs. Smh.
IF/20.5hrs. 27g carbs, 9g net carbs.(seed porridge) Meal times~ 3:30, 8pm.
▪11/6 - 184.4 - IF/16.5hrs. 48g carbs. Meal times~ 3:30, 7:30. (bean soup) I raised my calories to 1425 and carbs to 50g yesterday. Everything that I've been reading suggests more carbs to heal adrenal fatigue, specifically more wholegrain carbs. Not doing that, but more vegetables and maybe a serving or two of starchy veg this week, like squash and sweet potato.
▪11/7 - 183 - IF/17hrs. 28g carbs. Meal times~ 12:30, 5:30.
▪11/8 - 182.6 - IF/22hrs. 39g carbs. Meal times ~ 3:30, 7:30. (bean soup) Didn't go well with the intermittent fasting hours yesterday. I was out until late afternoon. From now on, I plan to take some bone broth with evoo & potassium mixed in and 1oz of salted mixed nut butter to break my fast at 16-18 hours. Eating 1 cup of bean soup, twice this week, did not seem to cause any harm.

We had to go to Indianapolis yesterday, so I spent driving calories, about 7 hours worth between there and back and around Indy. I did stick pretty much with good food choices until late evening when I had some ice cream. But I’m determined to eat properly the rest of this round. Thank you all for your inspirations, examples, and support.
10/31 - xx
Happy Halloween & Blessed Samhain! So far I’ve successfully ignored the candy sitting on the counter for this evening’s spooky little beggars, but I was not so successful with the zucchini bread or calories at last night’s Master Gardener meeting. But today is a new day.
11/1 - xx
Goals yesterday....I did have a little added sugar (1 Reese’s pumpkin from the trick or treat bowl) and a small bowl of lime sherbet), but mostly I ate very healthy. No flour products. Calories not great but not bad. And I finished painting my bathroom. Yay! Now on to the hallway. Have a lovely weekend, all!
11/2 - xx
I cheated a bit (again) last night. House painting makes me hungry! We’re meeting a friend for dinner this evening — she’s in town for the dog show and I haven’t seen her since this time last year. We met on the train from Nevada to Chicago in 2011 — I love chance meetings like that that stick. Enjoy the weekend, all!
11/3 - 168.4
We went out for dinner last night but I stuck with grilled salmon, unadorned sweet potato, and salad with no croutons and a tiny bit of dressing. I did eat a couple of fun-size candies from the bowl — trick or treat was rescheduled here until yesterday — but that’s gone now. Slowly getting back to some self-control. Enjoy your Sunday!
11/4 - xx
I had lots of paint and garden cleanup plans yesterday, but ended up having a lazy day, which is fine. Today I’m trying to finish the hallway, and I have a Nanking cherry seedling to plant. Keeps me mostly out of trouble!
11/5 - xx
I wasn't perfect but was reasonable on my munching yesterday. I did quite a bit of garden clean up and planted my little cherry tree (it's about a foot tall ). I also finished painting my formerly dark hallway -- now it's a gorgeous light teal and feels bigger, brighter, and happier. Whee!
11/6 - xx
I haven’t eliminated flour products from my diet, but I’ve definitely reduced them. Same with added sugar. Every little bit less....
11/7 - xx
Oh, man, yesterday was pig out day. I don’t know what’s wrong with me — cheese, more cheese, other high-calorie food I didn’t need but wanted. Is this and extended backlash (or backslide?) from the 3+ years of seriously controlled eating? I’ve been mildly depressed but don’t know if it’s the cause or the result of my overeating. I’m not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow.
11/8 - 170.4
There’s the pig out and sodium from the past two days. Ugh. I’m disgusted and disappointed with my silly self. I’m going to try a new “no eating except sitting at a properly set table (which doesn’t include my desk)” approach next round. That should cut out the snack calories. I seriously have to get a grip. Anyway, see you next round.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/30: 292.0 lbs (+1.4) .. bit of an uptick this morning, nothing too bad. Most likely going to take it pretty easy today aside from some walking.
10/31: 290.9 lbs (-1.1) … back down near my current low weight. Had a good run this morning, 3 miles over 40 minutes. It was warmer than normal for this time of year, but rainy. The rain felt pretty good though! I have my second strength training personal trainer session this evening after work, then I’m manning the door for trick or treaters for the remainder of the evening.
11/01: 292.2 lbs (+1.3) … pushed my calories yesterday slightly higher than I have for the past week or so, and ate a bit more carb-heavy than typical. I’m just glad that I’m hovering in the 290-292 range instead of staying at 295 like I was for the last few weeks.
11/02: 292.4 lbs (+0.2) … didn’t go out for a run this morning as planned… my legs were really sore from the gym on Thursday night. We’ll see how I feel in the morning. Likely going to take it easy today and rest.
11/03: 293.5 lbs (+1.1)
11/04: 294.3 lbs (+0.8) … the number on the scale keeps creeping up. Been eating well within my budget, so it's not food related. Was a bit frustrated about it until I read this morning that it's pretty common when you're beginning strength training and have sore muscles.
11/05: 291.7 lbs (-2.6) … there we go, a little recovery from recent upticks. At this point I’d be happy if I broke even this round, but hopefully I can show at least a little bit of loss in the next 4 days. Last night I had my third session with my personal trainer, an hour long. Still feeling a bit spaghetti-legged from that this morning, but not sore... yet. We'll see how I feel tomorrow I guess. Lastly, I noticed this morning that my shirts are fitting a bit better around the stomach — so even if I’m not losing pounds, I’m still making progress.
11/06: 292.7 lbs (+1.0) … more water retention fun! I’m pretty certain that’s what the uptick is. My legs and shoulders are pretty sore from Monday’s session at the gym. Trying to be more active today to shed the extra weight. I'm up to about 2 hours walking and 11,500 steps so far at 2pm.
11/07: 292.1 lbs (-0.6) … up, down, up, down, up, down. I get why it happens, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Been pushing my step count this week as I’m participating in a step challenge at work that started on Monday. I’ve committed to reach at least an average of 10,000 steps per day for the next couple weeks. 15.5k yesterday, went for a long walk this morning before work so I’m already up to 7.5k today.
11/08: 291.0 lbs (-1.1) … at least I ended up closer to my start weight than I’ve been for most of the challenge. As frustrating as this can be, when I take last round’s 6.5 lb drop into consideration, it’s really not all that bad.

10/30 131.8, just made it below 25 for my BMI at the end of last round. Hoping to have a good round since the holidays will likely be harder to lose (will be happy to maintain)
10/31 132, I went to a basketball game and had a hot dog and popcorn so this number is welcomed for the amount of salt I had. I’m ok if this is higher over the next couple of days, but will be back on normal food and exercise today
11/01 131.9
11/02 131.9, out of town until Monday and going to a college football game today so food may be less than ideal but it’s my only game this year so will enjoy
11/03 131.6, nice drop but didn’t drink a lot of water so may be the reason for the loss
11/04 131.5, meal prepped for tomorrow’s meals. Hoping to up water intake. Cardio machine for 60 minutes. I’ve been watching great baking company at the gym so makes me be on the machine for 60 minutes!
11/05 131.5, have a meeting tonight then dinner is at home that I made yesterday.
11/06 131.4, I feel asleep at 9:30 and slept 8 hours. I’ve been so exhausted that need to catch up on sleep. Hopefully this weekend can sleep more.
11/07 131.3, slow and steady but I think that’s going to be the norm for the rest of this weight loss journey, I think. I have a Friendsgiving event tonight so hopefully I can keep calories low so I can splurge during that event a bit

@flipflopsintx This challenge is actually just 10 days at a time. There are also month long challenges on the boards that have weekly weigh ins, that I also participate in. I like those challenges for the overall picture, but like these short challenges as a way to keep me on track daily and you start to see more about how individual days, habits, etc affect you.5

11/01 – 125.2 – Halloween potluck at work yesterday got me, and those mini candy bars…
11/02 – didn’t weigh

11/04 – 126.4 – And getting back on track today, did lunch meal prep yesterday so hoping that will help
11/05 – 125.6 – I lied, I was bad yesterday too. TOM starts today. Lunch meal prep for today so hoping to stay on track a little better, and there isn’t any more candy in my desk drawer 😊
11/06 – 125.0 – I was within my calorie goal yesterday and did much better than I have been, but still some room for improvement.
11/07 – 124.4 – I am very surprised that I keep going down like this, but I will take it. Officially back in my maintenance range.
11/08 – 124.4 – End result was .2 down from the end of the last round, but considering the highs over the past 10 days, I take that as a win. And ending the round in my maintenance range.

10/30 163.5 Same as yesterday. I got in 4.25 miles, 2.25 of that more hiking than walking. I ended up having a salad for lunch and salad for dinner. After committing to eating out less, my friend asked me to go to dinner last night and I said yes. I had a salad again because it was the best choice. I REALLY wanted their brisket grilled cheese which is the BEST but even half of it is expensive on calories. Freezing rain this afternoon, no outside walks. I did bring stuff for the gym if the weather allows I'll lift weights tonight.
10/31 164.2 ARGH. I'm not sure why I'm up. I was good yesterday. The weather did not hold, so no gym. No exercise tonight because it's HALLOWEEN! Don't be frightened by my scary ghost costume.
11/1 164.5 Double argh! Stayed out of the candy, for the most part, was under calorie goal even with what I had. Stupid water I guess. I should get a walk in tonight. Three miles maybe a little more. Happy Friday All. @deepwoodslady My thoughts are with you.
11/2 164.9 I walked four miles after work yesterday. It was wonderful. Not sure what's going on with the weight.
11/3 DNW The time change messed up my brain and I forgot to weigh. I spent almost 5 hours cleaning the house and doing yard work yesterday. I went for a short walk (1.5 miles) and then had friends over Saturday night (which explains the marathon house/yard clean up). Our menu was a healthy one - hummus and veggies as an appetizer, fancy tomato soup and grilled cheese for the main course and apple oatmeal crisp for dessert. Unfortunately, the broth I used for the soup was not low sodium so probably some water retention. After our delicious dinner, we sat around the fire pit until it got too cold.
11/4 165.9 Too much weekend for this girl. I did walk another 4 miles yesterday. This really is my favorite time of year for walking. I've walked 9.5 miles in 3 days. I'm heading to the gym tonight. I haven't done weights in 2 weeks. Try drinking a lot of water today to flush out my system.
11/5 No Scale Work interrupted my workout plan. I ended up going to St Louis but didn't leave until 3:00 which meant no time to go to the gym. I did get to eat at my favorite "fast food" place here that actually has low sodium bowls with lots of veggies and brown rice! I'll walk this afternoon, it's supposed to be sunny and 55!!
11/6 No Scale Walked 4 miles yesterday on a perfect autumn afternoon. Driving home today, I hope to stop and walk along the way. It's in the 50s but overcast. Stayed within calories yesterday but travel = water retention. We'll see what Mr. Scale has for me
11/7 162.6 I guess I had been retaining a lot of water if I'm down after a trip. I would like to be down a little more for the round but who knows. I will try to avoid excess sodium today so I can have a good number tomorrow. Did not walk yesterday, work had other plans for me. I had to be back in KC at 3:00 so no time to walk. Which stinks because the weather was perfect! Too cold today so I was going to go to the gym but I don't want to because of water retention and weights. Maybe I'll find a way to walk today.
11/8 161.6 WHOOSH! I am delighted with this. I walked 3.14 freezing (36 degrees) miles yesterday. It gets dark so early now, I have to leave my office by 4:15 to get a walk in before it's too dark to be safe. I really want to be 15X. I'd love it before Thanksgiving.12 -

My plan for R94 is the same - to remain focused, log and track properly and see my weigh in's into the 133's and to remain there!
Still no kitchen - new kitchen now delivered and being fitted - Last two rounds without a kitchen went well so hoping to continue as I left off. No kitchen continues to make me very planned and very focused just buying what we need when we need it.... Lesson to be learned here I think!
Evening out with a friend, Halloween and Grandsons birthday this round so not the easiest (although all in the first half of the round) but I'm determined to weigh less at the end than the start!
Start Weight 134.6lb
10/30 - 133.5lb (-1.1lb) and there's the rest of the drop at the round start rather than end of last round! But its here. Just 0.2lb away from my lowest weight ever (apart from when it was going up of course!) So that's my next small win planned....
10/31 - 135.8lb (+2.3lb ) No idea...... Spent a lot of time in the car yesterday (over 6 hours on and off between work and running daughter around for work and cheerleading!) and didn't move much inbetween
11/01 - 133.4lb (-2.4lb) OOOOKKaaayy - seems yesterday was a bit of a "blip".... Back down again and still on the right path. Guessing all is good
11/02 - 133.8lb (+0.4lb) OK stabilised so all good
11/03 - DNW
11/04 - 135.1lb (+1.3lb) and back up we go again! Guess alot of this is self inflicted. Was out on Saturday night and did go a bit overboard on the gin cocktails and paid the price Sunday morning (and most of Sunday to be honest!) Tough time of year for me - Tomorrow (5th) is the birthday of my daughter who was stillborn at full term 13 years ago - still a tough time of year to get through - as they say you never get over it - you just learn to live with it. Tomorrow is also my grandsons birthday so a real day of two halves..... So probably not as focused as I should have been this weekend.........
11/05 - 134.4lb (-0.7lb) Some of the weekend excesses and bloat gone at least. Trying to avoid emotional eating today and hoping to finish this week (and this round) strong, at a loss overall and back into the 133's.....
11/06 - 133.7lb (-0.7lb) And down we go again although in part probably due to no real meal last night and didn't track or focus yesterday - just got through the day with a couple of glasses of Red wine with hubby yesterday evening
My weight hasn't gone up or down really the last couple of weeks and haven't been properly focused but I do find this time of a year a bit of an emotional challenge
But back on track today, feeling more positive and food prepped and planned and goal is to stay in the 133's for the end of the round Two days to go!
11/07 - 132.9lb (-0.8lb) OOOOOHHH! Not seen a weight this low since I was on the way up a long time ago!
So despite all the fluctuations this round I am still overall losing - hurrah!
And when I put my weight into MFP this morning I got a lovely ticker tape banner pop up on my screen for reaching my target which I didn't remember setting. But here in the UK 133lb is exactly 9.5stone so quite a milestone for me. Going to reset a bit lower though - probably to 126lb which is 9 stone. But aiming to just stay steady until round end and over the weekend ahead then will reassess and reset
11/08 - 132.8lb (-0.1lb) YAY!!! Loss this round 1.8lb so very happy as not an easy time of year emotionally.
Entered my weight again this morning and got the target ticker again on screen - love this - put a smile on my face this morning. Not sure if I'll get it every morning I weigh in under target or not - but maybe worth some people setting mini goals along the way as like a pat on the back!
Will probably reset a bit lower but going to rest on my laurels for the weekend and then set a lower Christmas target I think.
See you in Round 9511 -
Round 93 was the best of the the last few rounds. I’m stuck to some of my plans and it’s seems to be working.
Day/Weight/Comment
Oct 30 - 187.4- trying to limit the night time snacking is proving difficult, but I’m eating lighter during the day to make it still within reason.
Oct 31 - 188.2 - up a bit because of some take out yesterday. Probably will be tomorrow too if I know my boss.
Nov 1 - 188.8 - I have to be good today. Yesterday didn’t go so well food wise.
Nov 2 - 188.4 - didn’t have a good day yesterday either. I need to figure out lunches better.
Nov 3 - 188.8 - was quite busy all day yesterday and kept my eating under control, I’m surprised the weight is up.
Nov 4 - 190.4 - I did not eat well yesterday and I was hungry all day. I don’t know if it was the time change or what, but I was all messed up. Hopefully today is much better.
Nov 5 - 188.8 - managed to get my water in yesterday that helped with all of the sodium from the weekend.
Nov 6 - 189.0 - I am so bloated and I’m sure it’s from all of the carbs I’ve been eating. I just want the comfort food and am finding it so hard to stay away from.
Nov 7 - 187.2 - a bit surprised as I had McDonald’s just before going to bed last night.
Nov 8 - 187.2 - no change from yesterday. I’ll take it.

@flipflopsintx We have no hard and fast rules about posting/weighing daily. Some do weekly, some don’t post weights at all. We make comments about our day if we want or ask for suggestions. Some read all posts, some do not. We’re a pretty laid back supportive group. Welcome! Oh, Round 95 starts tomorrow at

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
10/29 119.5
*******
10/30 120.5 Great workout yesterday but terrible headache this morning. I know it’s the arthritis in my neck and it will pass. I changed some settings Senza so it adjusts my calories according my burn at the gym so I had more calories but was still under 10g total carbs. I’m sure the uptick is water retention for muscle recovery. HoopsGuy72, you have inspired me! Carl went to the gym and I’m getting ready to go myself!
10/31 121.0 I enjoyed the gym yesterday! WHAT??? Unfortunately, maybe too much. My left shoulder and both of my ankles hurt. I will probably go this morning but take it easy.
11/1 121.0 Limited workout yesterday but skipping the gym today. Going to a craft show at World Market with a friend. She needs to buy prizes for a charity shoot she has arranged.
11/2 121.0 DH has poker this afternoon so I will go to the gym then. I am going back to my old every other day schedule from 10-11 years ago.
11/3 120.5
11/4 121.0 I was over on everything yesterday! May not have had enough water. We picked up friends at the airport and had discussed eating out with them - they had been on a 10.5 hour flight followed by 1.5 hour with barely enough time to clear customs and get to the last flight. Anyway, didn’t eat out so came home and make eggplant parm with mozzarella meatballs. I was getting really hungry and overdid my OMAD. This too shall pass!
11/5 122.0 According to my HRM, I burned 564 calories at the gym yesterday! I should have had a protein shake when I got home. Greek salad w/gyro meat for lunch. I ate 2 eggs & 2 oz of cheddar at 7:30 last night because my protein intake was so low for the day and my stomach was growling.
11/6 123.0 Things hurt all over. I really increased the weights I did yesterday I’m relatively sure that is the explanation for the uptick. I WANT to go to the gym but think I need a day off. I can’t believe I have allowed myself to get as weak as I have.
11/7 121.0 Only one meal yesterday and that was a portion of a 6 egg omelet around noon. My gym session today will be in the afternoon as I am going to craft at my friend’s office this morning. I have several projects packed up.
11/8. 123.5 Well, that’s what a high carb day does to me. Dinner later than usual with friends we hadn’t seen in a couple of years. Sure is going to mess with my round average but as start weight for next round - 95 should look like a good round! LOL9 -

Will this be the round that I hit my goal for this year? It will be if I get serious and end the eating out. My goal for this round is at least a two pound loss.
10/30 284.6 This bounce up is nothing more than the usual ovulation bounce up. I actually went back over my weight and ovulation times to prove it to myself. If all goes the same as the past it should be gone tomorrow or at worst in two days.
10/31 282.2 And the whoosh. I do have a small family party and eat out planned today, but I preplanned them and know what I can have to stay in calorie goals. I might still see a bounce tomorrow from sodium, but I’m positive I will reach my goal for this year by Monday at the latest.
11/01 281.4 I stayed on plan yesterday! I wasn’t expecting another drop today, but I’m happy seeing it. This loss puts me a little under my 100 pound loss goal for this year. I’m going to shoot for at least another 8 before the Christmas holiday.
11/02 280.4 I’m sure this freefall will end soon. I suspected that I had been retaining water for awhile now from the new exercise bike, but I didn’t think it was this much.
11/03 279.4 Still in free fall. Don’t worry I’m not starving myself and am eating at a decent calorie level.
11/04 278.8 I was so busy with errands yesterday, but I did them all between meals and made sure that I was at home near meal times so that I didn’t grab something out. Because of this I didn’t drink enough yesterday and I feel dehydrated today. On the plus side I don’t have anything planned until Thursday so I can rest a little and recover from my weekend.
11/05 278.2 I upped my morning walk yesterday from 20 minutes to 35 minutes. I also did the Just Dance arm movements while I did my exercise bike so I’m happy that the increased activity didn’t end in a bump up. Today I’m a little sore so I might take it a little easier than I have the last few days.
11/06 277.4 So I keep saying that I’m going to rest, and I still haven’t done it. Today I’m going to try to force myself to take it a little easier and have a rest day.
11/07 276.2 I took my rest day finally. Strangely I slept better last night than I have all week, maybe the muscle aches were getting to me more than I realized. I’m now rested and ready for the busy weekend to begin. My nsv yesterday was allowing my husband to take a photo of me. He was so excited because it’s one of the few times in our 15 years together that I’ve not only allowed him to take a picture of me, but asked for him to take one.
11/08 277.2 I’m only surprised that I didn’t bounce up sooner. I go through these drop stretches and my body will suddenly go wait I did want some of that water. I was also high sodium and late activity yesterday. To keep from the usual Thursday eat out my husband and I went grocery shopping after dinner, so there was no temptation to grab something out.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/08 –
@jaccimc63 How is the smoking cessation doing and how long has it been so far? I would love an update.5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
10/30: 221.2 (-0.2)/18.6 (0.0). I'll take anything as long as there's a "-" next to it. I didn't feel well last night, so I didn't make it to the gym. I'll get there tonight, though. I still feel like I'm on a good track, but I need to notice that yesterday was the first time that I have missed the gym in a long time. In the past, this would be "one of those things" that might throw me off. I really want to get this right this time. I've "gotten it right" before, but I need to figure out how to maintain it once I get there. I REALLY want this. I need to stay focused.
10/31: 220.6 (-0.6)/18.6 (0.0). I went to the gym last night and pushed myself, even though I am pretty sure my back is "out of whack." It went fine, but I'm really looking forward to my visit with the chiropractor on Monday. It's hilarious how it takes one day to really screw up, but it takes multiple days (sometimes even a week) to make up for it. I need to try to remember not to get the "binge" attitude: when a "cheat item" or a "cheat meal" turns into a "cheat day." The earlier I end my binge behavior, the less damage I do (and less time I have to spend "making up" for it).
11/1: 221.6 (+1.0)/18.6 (0.0). What do you get when you have a surprise Halloween gathering celebrating your sister-in-law's birthday? One pound, apparently. She bought pizza from my favorite place; I had three small slices. There was cake; I had a tiny piece. She made cupcakes; I cut the bottom off, and only at the top. Add in one beer, and about 1.5 ounces of sweet red wine. I'm listing everything because I'm actually kind of proud of myself. I could have (and likely would have) eaten three times what I consumed yesterday, but I tried my best to stay in control while still indulging "a bit." I'll be in the gym tonight!
11/2: 219.6 (-2.0)/18.4 (-0.2). I did not get a chance to post, but I went to the gym the night before. I generally seem to get good weigh-ins the day after the gym.
11/3: 219.2 (-0.4)/18.4 (0.0). I played basketball yesterday, and I felt pretty crappy. Still, a bad day at basketball is better than just about any other day. I also played miniature golf with my wife's family for her sister's birthday. I'm headed to the gym this morning. This weight (219.2) is equals the lowest I've been since I've been back to these challenges. I'm going to work hard today and hope for a bit of a breakthrough when I weigh in tomorrow.
11/4: 219.0 (-0.2)/18.4 (0.0). I went to the gym yesterday to lift weights and ate reasonably well. I limited myself at dinner to "stopping when I'm not hungry." As a result, there was a bunch of food left over that normally would have been in my belly that night. I made it through a weekend weighing less than I did on Friday morning!
11/5: 220.0 (+1.0)/18.4 (0.0). I had a stressful day yesterday, and I had a bit of a "slip" in the evening related to leftover Halloween candy (six small bars). There was not a lot of damage done; I'm going to work on keeping this slip to one evening. Gym night tonight!
11/6: 219.2 (-0.8)/18.4 (0.0). I did not go to the gym yesterday, but I DID eat well. I went to the chiropractor on Monday, and I was still pretty sore yesterday, so I will instead go to the gym tonight with my wife. I like that I'm hovering at 220 or under. I know that my average weight for a challenge says just as much (if not much more) than my starting and ending weight for a challenge. I'm still feeling a bit stressed at work (I have a huge deadline next Friday that is going to require me to work my @$$ off), but there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm going to try to focus on that light and get to work. Side note - I had something yesterday that had peanut butter in it (although, to be fair, it was "whipped" peanut butter), and I did not hate it. Anyone who knows me knows that peanut butter is the most disgusting substance in the world (to me). Now I have to rethink that... at least a little bit.
11/7: 217.8 (-1.4)/18.2 (-0.2). Hmm. Maybe I should completely skip a day a the gym more often? I actually missed a day (Tuesday) for the first time in a couple of months after visiting the chiropractor on Monday, and I am NOT going to make it up this week. My goal is to get right back on it, and not let "missing a day" throw me off my game. Things are going too well for me right now to let something tiny blow everything for me. It doesn't hurt that this is by far the lowest weight I've been at in at least eight months. Today is going to be all about maintaining; I keep saying that the last weigh-in of JGMTD shouldn't be given the importance that I (maybe we) give it, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy having a good ending to the challenge tomorrow. Cheers!
11/8: 215.8 (-2.0)/18.0 (-0.2). I'm not sure what's going on, but I like it. Yesterday was a potluck for a coworker who left, and I definitely was "off-program," at least for lunch, but I ate slowly and practiced portion control. I did not snack the rest of the day, however. And I had a relatively light dinner (wasn't hungry at all). I'm headed to the gym tonight (triumphant return), but there won't be basketball for at least a couple of weeks. I'm feeling "easy" right now. It's a good thing. I'm going to just keep on rolling with this. Edit: Oh yeah... WHOOOOOOOOSH!!!™

10/31 …..190.2 …..
11/01 …..188.0 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 797 Calories In / 2459 Calories Out. 12 Net Carbs. 14,002 Total Steps & 5.92 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 15 minutes. I walked for 103 minutes at 2.5 mph for a total extra calorie burn of 463.
11/02 …..188.0 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1551 Calories In / 2585 Calories Out. 78 Net Carbs. 16,472 Total Steps & 6.97 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 38 minutes. I Hall walked the school with my walking partner for 107 minutes at about 3.0 mph burning an extra 612 calories.
11/03 …..185.6 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 565 Calories In / 2566 Calories Out. 9 Net Carbs. 14,275 Total Steps & 6.04 Total Miles. 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 49 minutes which included my extra hour for Daylight Savings Time. I walked for 67 minutes at a moderate pace burning an extra 316 Calories.
11/04 …..186.0 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1501 Calories In / 2617 Calories Out. 61 Net Carbs. 14,381 Total Steps & 6.09 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 24 minutes and woke up very tired, dragging. I proved my commitment to myself by walking in FREEZING COLD TEMPS at early dark in my neighborhood for 46 minutes and burned an extra 271 calories
11/05 …..186.0 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1014 Calories In / 2733 Calories Out. 16 Net Carbs. 17,202 Total Steps & 7.28 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 2 hours & 40 minutes. Not enough, I know. I walked for 98 minutes inside the school at 3.0 mph burning an extra 515 calories over my normal daily routines. I also fit in 13 minutes of aerobics last night after I closed out my MFP day burning an additional 65 calories.
11/06 …..186.0 ….. I’m not gonna lie. I was hoping for a lower number or fraction of a pound on the scale but it is what it is. Sometimes trying to lose a pound feels like watching a drop of water trying to drip from a spigot. It’s looming right there on the rim, ready to fall anytime but just won’t drop. I continue to trust the process and wait for my rightful next number to show up! Patience is definitely part of this process. Yesterday’s stats: 1315 Calories In / 2689 Calories Out. 29 Net Carbs of mostly friendly veggies. 17,219 total Steps & 7.29 Total Miles. (Almost identical to yesterday’s activity!) 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 47 minutes waking up refreshed. I walked in the school hallways (mall walking) for 83 minutes at 3.0 mph burning an extra 443. I did 22 minutes of aerobics burning 160 calories. Total extra caloie burn was 603.
11/07 …..186.0 ….. Wow. No change for days now! Surprising! Today will be a rest day as far as the walking goes. I hate that right before the final weigh in tomorrow, but no choice. I will try to get in the 10,000 randomly but no neighborhood walk or school walk as I am taking my son for his flu shot today, then his haircut. A little later I am picking my 2 DGS up from school and taking them to the salon for their cuts. Then I will get them fast food (none for me, I promise!) as I have been “rewarding” all 3 with a treat for being “good boys at the salon” since they were 2 or 3 years old. They are a little old for it now but still expect the rewarding, and they will be “starving” after school so there it is! Yesterday’s stats: 1496 Calories In / 2619 Calories Out. 34 Net Carbs of mainly veggies in my kebobs. 17,324 Total Steps & 7.33 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 23 minutes. I walked the school halls for 1 hour & 38 minutes burning an additional 536 calories.
11/08 …..186.8 ….. I guess my weight isn't stuck anymore. I had a small emotional eating binge last night. Rough day business-wise. Many problems & issues mounting up and looming like mountains towering over me. I’ve got to get some important things resolved! I ate nachos. The bad, unhealthy carb & fat combo is always heavy on my scale (and me). Also some Halloween candy. Fun-sized, but not so fun this morning! Yesterday’s stats at best guesstimate: 1852 Calories In / 2466 Calories Out. 128 Carbs. 12,667 Total Steps & 5.36 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 10 minutes (a miracle for me!) and it was NOT enough. I awoke walking down my hallway staggering like a drunk. Still so very tired. Early business this morning so no chance to sleep longer. I did manage to fit in a 39 minute walk yesterday at 3.5 mph burning an extra 254 calories. It was nice spending a little time with my grandsons.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/30--206.5 Finished W3D1 of c25k yesterday. Another great fall day to go out and run. Strength coach tonight.
10/31--206.3 Tough workout with my coach yesterday, but I am definitely seeing progress. This morning I decided to try on these boots I haven't been able to wear for the past 2 years because my calves had gotten too big. Well, not only am I wearing them today, but I also have my jeans tucked into them!
11/01--207.6 I'm not surprised about the jump. Between soreness from my workout 2 days ago, not great sleep last night, and lack of water over the past 2 days, the jump on the scale was expected. Goal for today is to drink water. I finished W3D2 last night. Tonight is the gym.
11/02--207.6 Yesterday I reintroduced a food into my diet that I was tested as sensitive to almost a year ago. I'm supposed to reintroduce the food over 3 meals and then see how it affects me over the next 1-3 days. Well, after eating the food for only one meal yesterday, I can already tell that it still affects me, so I'm not going to be eating anymore of it. There is definite bloating and heaviness this morning, so I'm surprised there wasn't a jump in the scale today, but that may change over the next couple of days. My plan is to make sure I drink a lot of water today. Movie and dinner with a friend tonight.
11/03--207.6 I feel so much better this morning, I slept for almost 10 hours! The bloated feeling and heaviness from yesterday is gone. Last night I went out and saw a movie and went out for dinner, but before I went to the movies I did w3d3 of c25k, even though I hadn't planned to go out for a run. I saw my strength coach this morning and it was great. Plan is to relax for the rest of the morning.
11/04--207.4 Rest day today.
11/05--206.7 I ended up snacking more than usual yesterday evening. Looking back, I'm not sure why I did it. A part of me is wondering if the fact that it is now getting darker faster than usual has something to do with it. Regardless, I am over it. Going out for a run tonight, hopefully I can finish the run before it gets too dark outside.
11/06--206.7 So, I wasn't over the snacking and I did some more snacking last night. Now I'm really over it. I also did not go out for a run last night, but today is a new day and I have my strength coach tonight.
11/07--206.0 Only one extra snack last night and I know that it was emotional eating after my husband and I had a discussion about our dog. Our dog is almost 13 and has heart disease, and last night when our dog exhibited some symptoms of the disease, we ending up talking about what to do when THAT time comes. It's not a discussion we wanted to have, but it's something that we'd rather talk about and plan for now, then dealing with it at the time. Run tonight.
11/08--207.0 Went out to lunch yesterday, and I had an amazing chicken salad with probably way more calories and sodium than I could imagine. Finished w4d1 of c25k yesterday. Tonight is the gym.
