Hanging my head in shame... Stress eating way too much. Missing the mark

You’re up less than a pound this month. I think you’re being too hard on yourself. If you’re experiencing unusual amounts of stress, is there someone you can talk to? Is there an activity you can participate in that relaxes you or that you enjoy? We have your back, but make sure you have your back, too.

Thank you for putting it in perspective. Yes, I went to my group last night to talk about my emotional eating in celebrate recovery. I would like to exercise but can't due to the drunk driver accident till I finish physical therapy. It's a struggle for me.

An activity you enjoy doesn’t have to be exercise. It could be putting work aside and watching a movie, going to a pottery class, sitting in a garden and writing poetry or sketching, or even taking an extra long bubble bath. I’m glad you have a group you can talk to. I just don’t think it helps to beat yourself up about not making week to week goals.

True. Although watching movies is dangerous for me in terms of mindless eating. I'm journaling my feelings but during work it's hard to find an activity I enjoy. I enjoy thrift store shopping but not motivated to do it because poundage gain. I enjoy ballroom dancing but dance partner is incapacitated like me. I enjoy kickboxing but again same reason. I enjoy hiking but same reason. I guess I need to find a new hobby... I've tried knitting and sewing but I'm gratified by instant results so not my cup of tea. I've tried painting but I'm so not artistic. I love gardening but live in a condo so no yard. Ive tried to learning guitar but not successful. Bubble baths, meh... What do you love to do to destress?

Lost absolutely nothing last month. The last couple of pounds are really hard to shed, so I am going to try and be really good until Thanksgiving. Maybe I will finally break into the 130's this month.

    October End Weight: 140.7
    November Goal Weight: 138
    Ultimate Goal Weight: 135-138 Maintenance

Nov 1 : 141.5 up a little from yesterday. Chinese and a couple of drinks last night
Nov 6: 140.5 down a bit so I will take it. Hoping I can post a new decade next week
Nov 13: 139.7 I have seen this number a couple of times this month, but hasn't stuck yet.
Nov 20: 142.0 no idea should be lower. Was diagnosed with shingles on Sunday, so maybe that's the reason
Nov 27: 137.7 Had no appetite for the last week and was stressed a lot. Felling better and glad to be back at 100% for Thanksgiving!

    Original Highest Weight: 253
Original Starting Weight on MFP: 235

    November Start Weight: 188.0
    November Goal Weight: 182.x
    November End Weight: xxxxx

    Nov 01:
188.0....... I hope to hit 182 point anything this round. It might be tough with the American Thanksgiving this month. Also the start of Christmas shopping, traveling & restaurants. This is when it all started going downhill in my plan and up on my scale last year. I hope to make this year different!
    Nov 06:
186.0....... Some progress. Traveling again on Monday until very late so I expect a few days of weight gain, then loss of bloat & fluid retention. All the normal things associated with sitting a lot in the car, missing the exercise normally done when at home and eating at restaurants. But I hope it won’t be too bad about 36 hours later when I weigh on the 13th. I’m not going to sweat it. I’ll be back on track right away.

    Nov 13:
188.6....... Travel & emotional eating. I’ve got to stop it in its tracks right now!

    Nov 20:
184.6....... An excellent week of discipline for me. Stopped that emotional eating as best as I could. I’m trying to be good as I work my way toward the USA Thanksgiving Holiday coming up. They don’t call it a Thanksgiving feast for nothing!

    Nov 27:
187.8....... I went up 3.8 pounds overnight after traveling (sitting a lot in car) and eating at the restaurant where I practiced good portion control but ate carbs. This sux but I will be working on it immediately. My Thanksgiving dinner is not until Saturday the 30th so I‘ve got a few days to remedy this situation and make peace with my scale.
