Personal Goal: More water, a full body pushup, continue N2R
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19: 159.0-Needed an active rest, did full body body stretching, wow that felt good-need to make it a habit.
11/20: 159.0-30 minutes rowing. Stretching hammies and hip flexors has done wonders for my knees, even my feet feel better.
11/21: 159.8-Always disappointing to see a bump up, but learning not to give it much credence, which is progress too.
11/22: 159.4-Some yard work and more stretching; should be able to get back to N2R next week.
11/23: 159.2-Good long walk in early a.m., but otherwise a bit of a lazy day.11 -

As far as eating goes, this has been a bad week. Coworker ordered in McDonald's for lunch, then when I got home my fiance was craving a Friday Fish Fry. Ended the day well over my calorie limit. I logged it all though so I'm counting that as a win at least. Drinking a lot of water to offset all the sodium and we don't have any plans for the weekend so I'm going to try to cook some this weekend and be better in the days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Goals: stay away from sugar. Stay close to the green zone. Appreciate any loss.
11/19 134: neighbor brought freshly baked bread after dinner. So I ate some and don't regret it. But I did go up to maintenance and ate back all my exercise calories for the day. Today I better not.
11/20 133.6: added 5 mins to elliptical! I think I need to have less calories early in the day so I can eat a proper dinner, otherwise it's extremely hard to stay within my 1200 and feel sane.
11/23: 134.4 I don't know what's going on. Actually, I do know. It started with the pasta on Thursday, which was delicious. Then yesterday, I ate within reason but basically I'm eating at maintenance. Somehow I have to cut the dessert in the evening. until that point I'm fine and then I go over.
It helps to see the reminder "don't stay away. It's a journey, and we're not here to judge but to support", so I'm just repeating it if someone else feels like me this morning.
Today I will take it for today.14 -

Goal is to lose 2 lbs during this round
11/19 140.5: just can't seem to lose, I have been logging my food, and I pick up a bite of donut here and there, then a cookie at work. I get stressed and starved. I'm small framed, so I'm carrying 10 extra pounds. It's not the end of the world, but all my clothes are tight now, and I know I'll just keep gaining through the winter if I don't turn it around
11/20 140: packing healthy snacks and back to logging food today. I'm shooting for 1400 + half of my exercise calories.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 - 168.8
Yesterday was a gorgeous day and I went for I lovely walk along one of our three rivers. It was inspiring. And I’m happy to be starting a new round — I’m finally feeling focused and determined to stick to the healthier me plan. Many thanks to you lovely people for providing inspiration, example, and a safe place to slip up for a while.
11/20 - 168.8
I did well with eating goals yesterday though I did have a small glass of Bailey’s last night. I had a bagel this morning — and thoroughly enjoyed it! But have stuffed portobellos planned for lunch and veggie dinner. Feeling pretty much on track.
11/21 - 171.6
WHAAAAA? Clearly that’s not actual weight gain! I did eat dinner (all vegetarian dishes at master gardener meeting) later than usual, and some of the food was a bit salty and I didn’t get enough water yesterday, but really? 3 pounds??? I expect it to be gone tomorrow! Jeesh!
11/22 - 170.4
I’m a little surprised it’s still up there, but ok, I can’t control the scale, just my behavior, I ate responsibly yesterday. It is what it is!
11/23 - 171
I over ate last night — ugh. Today I have to bake a loaf of bread for bread communion tomorrow, but I won’t sample! I don’t know why I can’t seem to get a grip on my snacking, even though I’m thoroughly disgusted with the weight I’ve gained back. Monday I see my integrative medicine doctor and I’ve decided I won’t let the nurse weigh me. Depressing enough to see my nekkid number at home before breakfast —I’m not getting on a scale fully clothed after eating! Have a good weekend, all.

11/19 273.4 A nice loss for the start of the round.
11/20 273.0 I took my rest day a day early because I was experiencing some muscle fatigue. I seem to be doing better this morning so I’m hopeful that I just needed a little rest and that it’s not a flare starting.
11/21 271.6 I checked this weight six times, two of those was after walking the dogs. I have no idea where it came from, but I’ll take it.
11/22 271.4 Any loss is a good loss, I’m just happy that it wasn’t a false low yesterday and that I didn’t bounce from a high sodium dinner last night. I tried a ranch dressing that’s made with Greek yogurt and it was pretty good. My only complaint is that it comes out in clumps.
11/23 270.6 I took a rest from walking yesterday, it really showed me how inactive I am if I don’t take my walks throughout the day. This morning I’m back to my usual routine and my 20 minute walk passed by in the blink of an eye, so I went for another 10 minutes. My husband and I are going out for lunch today and hopefully I can stay on track. I might consider talking him out of it because I really want to get down some more before my maintenance break next month.

Back for Round 96
Female / Age 62 / 5'2"
OW: 158.5 (12/30/18)
UG: 135.0 (for now, healthy weight for me)
Intro:Let me introduce myself. I struggled with my weight as a teen, topping out at nearly 200. I dropped it after high school and got to a healthy weight. Every major life changed has brought weight back on - having kids, pre-menopause, menopause, family tragedy, post menopause. I've knocked it back down each time, and have been surprised that each time required a different strategy, and resulted in a different type of lifestyle change to maintain. Each time as been much harder and slower. At this point, it's moving off at a snail's pace.
Motivation. I have a hyatial hernia. It does not bother me as long as I keep the weight at 150 or below. Every female on my mother's side has had arthritic knees, and I'm starting to feel twinges. They have also sustained falls and broken bones. My husband had a major health scare a coupe of years ago. The idea of being put out of commission by a preventable injury or illness scares the bejimminies out of me.
Goals. The goals at this stage are to drop weight to a healthy range, realign my eating style to a lifestyle that will keep me healthy into my golden years, and strengthen the muscles that support my knees, ankles, and shoulders, along with my core, to prevent injury.
Dropping weight post menopausal has been so difficult, I need this to be the last time. 10-15 pounds used to be easy to drop, so that was always my warning bell to focus. Not so much now. Looks like a 3-5 pound fluctuation will be it.
A healthy weight for me is 135-140. I've always looked anorexic at 120. We'll see how things are at 135, and go from there.
Round StatsR95: SW 146.3 GW 146.0 EW 145.3 Results -1.0
Strategy: Up the hydrating foods. Fruit with breakfast. Salad/veggies as bulk of lunch. Healthy dinner. Limit/eliminate processed carbs and sugars. Zero calorie intake after 8pm. Strength exercises 3 days on/1 day rest. Regular movement through day to compensate for desk job.
R96 Challenges: I'm hosting Thanksgiving for the first time in several years. Son is truly invested in "tradition" - meaning high sugar, high carbs. I'm going to have to plan a menu that balances that with healthy. And, I'm going to have to balance "treat" with discipline for myself.
R96 SW: 145.3 (11/18 This is a whoosh, I'm expecting a small spike.)
R96 GW: 144.0 (Should be doable even with a spike.)
11/19 (T) 144.7 Ok. I'm in shock. No bounce? I've been on plan, so maybe I've busted through? It's been a full week since I tweaked the plan to add fruit to breakfast and a handful of spinach at lunch. And it's been a good exercise week. Only one spike - and that was a sodium bloat. So maybe ...
11/20 (W) 144.7 Still no spike. Dare I believe it?! Good day yesterday. Ate within plan. Got my strength exercises in early. Mornings are proving better for me than evenings - and possibly more effective. I've been tied to the desk this week, so my steps (and overall calories burn on Fitbit) are down. Will need to party Attention to that and start moving more.
11/21 (T) 145.3 There it is. And more of a bounce than spike Missed workout yesterday and ate later than normal, violating my no calories after 8pm. I'm working on a deadline at work - looking forward to December when things settle down to normal crazy.
11/22 (F) 145.0 Did pretty good on Thursday. Started feeling a bit "puny." Listened to my body and just rested, skipping workout.
11/23 (S) 145.6 Tough couple of days. Felt "something" coming on. Loaded up on Emergen-C and just got some rest. Scale has bounced up, but trend continues to drop. I'm feeling better today and will ease back onto plan.
Lots to do to prep for Thanksgiving. I'm off work until the week after, so I can tackle it a bit at a time. Expect activity to increase which should set me back on track. 👣

Ultimate Goal- Maintain 130-135

11/23- 149.4 I ate at the very top of my calories yesterday and weighed 151.2 at 4:30am but after two hours at the gym AND breakfast I’m back down. That is how much I was sweating this morning. Ended this round of boot camp in a FIVE MINUTE plank, that’s after a full workout. I had to put my knees down a couple of times but I kept getting back up. New goal- five minutes of plank with no knee downs or pike ups. It sounds so simple...14 -

@SheilaBoneham I hope refusing to weigh on THEIR scale works. When I told the doctor’s assistant that I wasn’t getting on their scale because I had weighed at WW the morning before and had brought that record, the doctor hollered down the hall, “You will to get on my scale!” And I hollered, “No, I will NOT!” and I didn’t. Needless to say, that was the last time I went to her! Her answer for losing weight was to just stop eating.7

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

11/19 122.5 Gym day today. My Art Quilt group has it annual holiday potluck tomorrow and I have no idea what to take. Last year there were too many desserts and no LCHF entrees.
⭐️On this date last year, weighed 131.0, I watched what I ate and how much during multiple potlucks, 3 holidays (Thanksgiving and 2 Christmases with family) and other random celebrations. I did hit 133.0 a couple of times but was at 133.5 on/ New Year’s morning. I had determined that I did not want to go back where I had been and was mindful. You can do it!
11/20 123.5 Heavy workout day at the gym yesterday. I know I’m getting stronger, I just wish I felt I was. I made Keto white chicken chili for today’s potluck.
11/21 122.0 My potluck dish was a hit!
11/22 121.0 DH woke up sick yesterday. I spent most of the day reading a book a friend loaned me. When we went out to get his meds, I got 2 grande lattes with heavy cream at that famous coffee place (it was happy hour day) and that was how I broke my almost 22 hour fast. I continued to “enjoy” (not so much) that coffee for the rest of the day. UGH! Hardly ate any supper. Feeling much better today. Fasting until dinner. (It’s in print so now I have to, right?)
11/23 121.0 I didn’t fast as long as I intended but I’m a work in progress. At 8PM I realized I hadn’t had any water all day - just coffee so I drank about a quart and a half before I went to bed at 11:20. 2 bathroom trips during the night. Note to self - drink water not coffee! I need to get to the gym today for sure, haven’t been since Tuesday!10 -
Hi, I’m Karen and I’m 53.
OSW-187 Sept. 2018
Gym weight lifting class 2 x week
Walk +/- 7 miles 3 x week
Drink plenty of water, alcohol on weekends only.
11/18-172 Got my big walk in today and was within my calories.
11/19-170-What a difference it makes to be eating right and walking instead of salty food and traveling. Glad to be home.
11/20-169-I’m off to the gym this morning, will make a ground turkey meatloaf. I’m hoping to stay on track.
11/21-167-The gym was a full body workout with cardio, rough but glad I did it. My meatloaf was the best ever-I fried two onions before adding it to the mix. I’ll get a big walk in today.
1/22-168-Got a big walk in, but not enough water, even though I ate good. It’s Friday!!!!!
11/23-165-That is just because I didn’t feel like eating dinner so I had a drink instead. I tried to close out the food diary and got the lecture of not eating enough calories....I was not hungry though, so I lied and told MFP I ate 3 cheese sticks.😂
I’m glad you are all here. I have my coffee with you each morning !! 😊☕️14 -

11/18 …..185.8….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/19 …..185.8 ….. A very good day yesterday. I was hoping for another drop on the scale but it maintained. Got to this weight on a whoosh so I guess I have to let it get comfortable before it moves down again. Yesterday’s stats: 1004 Calories In / 2780 Calories Out. 40 Net Carbs. 21,201 Total Steps & 8.97 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 3 hours & 12 minutes. I walked at 3.25 mph for 97 minutes doing school-hall walking and I walked for 32 minutes at 3.0 mph with a planned walk around my property. Total extra calorie burn 750. I prep cooked yesterday a bit. I have invited my cousin & his son over for a Mexican dinner tonight. I will be mindful. Good luck everyone on this round. The progress I am seeing from all of you is phenomenal!
11/20 …..184.6 ….. I am thrilled with the scale reading but feeling a bit guilty about it and feeling, also, that I don’t deserve to be rewarded for bad behavior. Made a nice Mexican dinner for my visiting family (hunting season) and ate handfuls of those chocolate tipped candy corn I had on the table for them while I was cooking. I ended up with a teeny tiny dinner to make up for it. Thankfully, all the protein in chicken quesadillas and ground beef & bean tostadas have lots of protein so at least I wasn’t hungry when I went to sleep! I won’t do that again anytime soon, though. It skewed my general low carb plan but the calories were okay. Yesterday’s stats: 1153 Calories In / 2829 Calories Out. 133 Carbs (ouch!). 19,172 Total Steps & 8.11 Total Miles. 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours (due to dinner guests) and I slept 4 hours & 25 minutes waking up refreshed. I walked at 3.5 mph for 101 minutes at the school, and I walked 32 minutes at 3.0 at home for a total of 809 extra burned calories. Better choices today is what is on the menu! I’m thankful to God for shining down on my scale.
11/21 …..186.8 ….. A little too much indulgence with visiting family but activity was very good. Yesterday’s stats: 1826 In / 3172 Calories Out. 210 Carbs. 25,480 Total Steps & 10.82 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 2 hours & 3 minutes due to tummy aches from food overload. Lesson Learned. They are still visiting until Sunday, but I won’t do that again on that level! I fit in a lot of exercise during their two hunting sessions. I walked for 97 minutes burning 523, I walked for 59 minutes burning 324, I walked for 40 minutes burning 177 and I danced for 19 minutes burning 118. Sample song- “Centerfold” by J. Geils”. Total extra calorie burn 1142.
11/22 …..185.6 ….. I tried to “shake it up” a bit yesterday to speed up my recovery on the scale and it worked. Less planned exercise but I did take one long walk (2 hours). In diet, I ate lower carb and calorie than I have been lately and made each bit count with GOOD HEALTHY choices. Yesterday’s stats: 1030 Calories In / 2926 Calories Out. 21 Net Carbs. 22,028 Total Steps & 9.32 Total Miles. 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 7 hours & 49 minutes to make up for the night before. Wonderful! I took a 2 hours walk in the school halls for an extra burn of 699. Have a great weekend everyone!
11/23 …..185.2 ….. A bit over on carbs from an invited lunch at a friends house, but all is well. Scale is down 0.4 because I remained diligent the rest of the day and got in some movement & exercise, even on a busy day! Yesterday’s stats: 1400 Calories In / 2871 Calories Out. 86 Net Carbs. 22,215 Total Steps & 9.4 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 14 minutes & woke up feeling good. I rigorously cleaned tourist cabins for 23 minutes, walked at the school for 129 minutes at about 3.5 mph and I danced for 27 minutes. Sample song “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson. Total extra calorie burn was 1078. Dinner tonight at a friends. Shish Kabobs are on the menu which should be in line with my dietary plan.

Round 96, 13th Round for Me
Starting Weight: 286.9 lbs
Goal Weight: 284.9 lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19: 286.4 lbs (-0.5), 17,005 steps … back down under the -100 mark again. I actually ate at maintenance yesterday (well, within budget if you count the exercise calories, I tend not to) and didn’t fast through breakfast as I usually do. I had a heck of an appetite. I stepped onto the scale fully expecting to see an increase, but I saw a small loss instead. Pretty happy with that.
11/20: 285.1 lbs (-1.3), 13,671 steps … a new low. Feeling pretty good this morning!
11/21: 283.8 lbs (-1.3) … another new low! This is already a very good week, hopefully I can hang onto this progress. Today is the last day of our step challenge at work, and my team is still holding onto the lead (and has done so for the past week and a half). I’m averaging 15,000 steps per day since 11/4, which is kind of insane for me considering my ~6-8k average before that. I’m committing to 20,000+ steps today just to make sure we cement our lead and have no surprises in the morning.
11/22: 283.3 lbs (-0.5) … another new low. And we did it! My team won the step challenge. I pushed myself pretty hard yesterday, doing 3+ hours of walking (23,500 steps) to ensure we held onto the lead. Going to let myself rest today, and then go back to trying to make sure I get around 10,000 per day.
11/23: 283.1 lbs (-0.2) … another new low. How I love typing that. I’m kind of surprised -- I was pretty hungry yesterday and ate a bit more than I typically do. I was expecting an uptick. I’m about to head off to my niece’s birthday party, where I hope to be able to behave in terms of what I eat

11/19 123 Happy with today’s weight, had a great day both yesterday and today.
11/20 123.2 It’s always hard to see the scale go up even a little bit. I had a big drop of weight the day prior so overall I am going down.
11/21 122.4 Happy!
11/22 122.4 Same as yesterday. I’ll take it. Ate a little over today. I just sort of ate “normally” and took a break from counting calories starting around 1 pm. Not good! Getting back with it tomorrow! 😀 Persistence is key!

Round 96
As 2019 winds down my goal wt for Jan 1st is 262 which would give me a loss for the year of 15 lbs. I think that will put me in a good spot heading in to 2020. I will be 55 in a couple of weeks and it would be awesome to hit my goal wt this year and finally have a handle on this weight thing. A pound a week in 2020 will put me there. Good luck everyone and have a great round.

21: 204.5 Fitbit says TOM tomorrow. Expecting I'll see a drop in a couple of days, as it's my usual pattern with hormone shifts.
22: 203.4 Pretty sure this isn't hormone related, but with the timing it could be. @tiabirdie56 It really seems to be! I've done LCHF before with success, but cutting out grains and sugar completely is doing wonders. I feel better than I have in a very long time.
23: 202.6 ♀️ And there's the drop. Exactly 1 pound to my 40-pound milestone. Tomorrow is my partner's birthday, so we're going out for a late lunch and early movie today. I feel pretty confident about navigating my food intake though. After the movie, we'll be going to a few stores for errands, so I should also be able to get some decent steps in. If nothing else, I'll let him peruse Menard's while I walk laps. Wouldn't be the first time. Lol

Goal(s) for this round (unchanged from last round): Get under 215.0 and stay there. Keep up my progress 1) planning better when I'm having "cheat" days (parties, eating out with family and friends, et cetera), 2) limiting alcohol intake (no more than two drinks on any occasion, stick with red wine or spirit + diet soda) and 3) continuing to lift weights at the gym 3x/wk.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19: 215.6 (-1.6)/18.0 (-0.2). I'm still feeling stressed, but this weigh-in feels closer to where I actually am. I have officially gone from barely fitting into my XL shirts to fitting comfortably in most of my L shirts. Gotta love the NSVs; . I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to hit the gym, but I'm excited get back at it (haven't been since Friday).
11/20: 216.0 (+0.4)/18.1 (+0.1). I met with an old friend for dinner last night. I kept things under control, but it was definitely "off-plan." I am planning on going to the gym tonight, with or without my wife. She just texted me to let me know that she is going to the dentist after work, so it's ME ALONE AGAINST THE GYM!!!
11/21: 217.2 (+1.2)/18.2 (+0.1). It was too cold last night for me to go to the gym on my motorcycle. And my wife brought home food from one of my favorite places. I ate half, and took the other half for lunch today, but it seems obvious that it has affected my weigh-in. Stress at work has got in the way of my going to the gym as much as I would like, and that (I think) has limited my progress in the last week. I'm not beating myself up, though. At this moment, as I think about my circumstances, I am pretty happy to be "where I'm at." My stress will pass, and I will get back into my routine. Even as I have been slacking, I have still never gone less than once per week to the gym. I'm just talking out loud.
11/22: 217.2 (0.0)/18.2 (0.0). @tiabirdie56 I AM ready to get back into the gym! It's "gym or bust" tonight, and, despite next week being Thanksgiving, I'm going to get back into my good habits RIGHT NOW. Skipping the gym is one of those warning signs that sometimes (often) leads me off-track. So is stress. I still feel like I'm "okay," but it's time to "right the ship." I already have my "relatively healthy" reward dinner all planned out. Today will be a good day, and next week is a two-day work-week, so I have even more to look forward to! I also just looked up and realized I'm at my SW for the round. Things could be so much worse...
11/23: 216.4 (-0.8)/18.1 (-0.1). I hit the gym last night with my wife. Because I have not been as consistent over the past two weeks, I took it a little easy (didn't try to hit any "max" weights). I ate well during the day, and overall it was a pretty good day. Tonight my wife and I are celebrating 8 years of marriage (actual date was 11/19), and we have been together for 16 years. No matter how messed up life can be, I know that I have the "love" department covered. I forget sometimes how lucky I am, but it's always there if I just let my mind get quiet. We'll be going out, and I'll try to figure out a way to stay on track (even if I eat ribs, or a steak). I'll definitely be eating light for breakfast and lunch in anticipation. No alcohol. If I have a dessert/sweet, it will be 400 calories or less. I will also be at the gym tomorrow morning, no matter what.
