11/19 162.1 WTH? I stayed within calories but too much sodium and too many carbs. Usually, I'm not big on carbs but lightened up stroganoff still has a lot of noodles. I finally made it to the gym to lift weights, which is probably part of the retained water issue and all of the sore muscle issues. I have been so happy to walk again after the pulled hamstring in August that I've really neglected weight lifting. I'm sure this uptick will be gone in a day or two so I'm not sweating it. Headed back to StL today. It's a lovely sunny fall day so I will definitely go for a walk somewhere between KC and STL, either along the river or a park closer to KC. The stupid tilt of the earth making it harder to walk before dark13 -
@matratazola I plan on eating at maintenance calories for Thanksgiving and during the two weeks before New Years Day. Perhaps consider if maintenance days would work for you on days where you have plans? You might still gain, but it might not be as bad.
@171lake Happy Birthday!!

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

11/19 122.5 Gym day today. My Art Quilt group has it annual holiday potluck tomorrow and I have no idea what to take. Last year there were too many desserts and no LCHF entrees.
@matratazola On this date last year, weighed 131.0, I watched what I ate and how much during multiple potlucks, 3 holidays (Thanksgiving and 2 Christmases with family) and other random celebrations. I did hit 133.0 a couple of times but was at 133.5 on New Year’s morning. I had determined that I did not want to go back where I had been and was mindful. You can do it!8 -

11/18 …..185.8….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/19 …..185.8 ….. A very good day yesterday. I was hoping for another drop on the scale but it maintained. Got to this weight on a whoosh so I guess I have to let it get comfortable before it moves down again. Yesterday’s stats: 1004 Calories In / 2780 Calories Out. 40 Net Carbs. 21,201 Total Steps & 8.97 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 3 hours & 12 minutes. I walked at 3.25 mph for 97 minutes doing school-hall walking and I walked for 32 minutes at 3.0 mph with a planned walk around my property. Total extra calorie burn 750. I prep cooked yesterday a bit. I have invited my cousin & his son over for a Mexican dinner tonight. I will be mindful. Good luck everyone on this round. The progress I am seeing from all of you
is phenomenal!

Goal(s) for this round (unchanged from last round): Get under 215.0 and stay there. Keep up my progress 1) planning better when I'm having "cheat" days (parties, eating out with family and friends, et cetera), 2) limiting alcohol intake (no more than two drinks on any occasion, stick with red wine or spirit + diet soda) and 3) continuing to lift weights at the gym 3x/wk.
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19: 215.6 (-1.6)/18.0 (-0.2). I'm still feeling stressed, but this weigh-in feels closer to where I actually am. I have officially gone from barely fitting into my XL shirts to fitting comfortably in most of my L shirts. Gotta love the NSVs; . I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to hit the gym, but I'm excited get back at it (haven't been since Friday).

I've been diabetic for 22 years and I'm really trying to get it under control so I can live longer and healthier. Doc recently took me OFF insulin, so now the challenge is to STAY OFF.

My "Christmas Season" starts in end November already and will run till mid-January (between family, office and friends.... ) In one way I want to enjoy myself but then I'll feel discouraged if I put weight on (it'll be hard not to over next month).
I'm hoping to add more exercise to my days to try and compensate... Do you have any other recommendations?
For the office, I stay away from the kitchen. I also convince myself that someone has sneezed all over the baked goods...that helps me stay away from them 😄

In addition, if I want to enjoy, I just take "testers" of the things I really really want. One little bite here and there adds up, yes, but I find that if I truly sit down and savor that one bite, it was worth it and I don't have to eat a typical serving to get the same satisfaction. I also limit myself to the number of "testers" I get to try. I have to think long and hard about which thing I want which helps me also think about the feelings it gives me (bloat, heaviness, lethargy are some things I experience when I'm not careful with my eating). I'll admit, I fail at this A LOT but I know, even if I fail, I'm aware of it and that's the first step for me.
That's a good idea! I'm not sure I'd be able to stop once I start eating but I can try, thanks 😁6
