So I did some quick math. In order to get back to my weight when I ran my last race, I need to run around 150 to 155 miles today.

That might be pushing it, even for @AlphaHowls

Just run 75 today and 80 tomorrow...

So, @Tramboman , do you actually have to run each day to participate in this creative challenge and express something that happened during said run, or can you just make it up?

@Teresa502 That's quite a bit of money found. Love that you all save it and donate to a great cause.

The only rule is that there are no rules.
I'm just going to see where 12 runs take me.

No, see that is a losing game because there are meals in there then. Gotta get it all in between lunch and dinner! :)

I have to admit when you said: "twelve runs of Christmas" I had a somewhat different thought about the meaning of: "runs" than that...

    @Tramboman How's this:

On the first day of Christmas
    my workout let me see
a squirrel high up in a pine tree.

    Perfect!!!!!

And by doing "day" as opposed to "run," you can even get your rest days in.

Ouch @LoveyChar! I bet baby was frightened watching mom fly through the air! Hope your knees heal quickly.

@LoveyChar That looks painful! Hope it doesn't hurt too bad and really, really glad your son is okay, even if a little frightened.

@eleanorhawkins Oh no! I hate UTIs. Good that you are taking care of it right away. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and the symptoms will go away quickly.

@Teresa502 & @quilteryoyo thank you for your concern. I'm sore but it's so superficial, thank goodness. I cried at first but only because I scared the baby. Now I'm kind of laughing because it was such a dumb *kitten* move. I have been on that sidewalk thousands of times over the years and today I almost fall on my face. I'll just be extra cautious next time.

@eleanorhawkins Now that is misery. I've had one in my life and it was awful. My daughter got bath bombs for Christmas and she offered me one after I told her how nice they smelled. I told her no and for that reason, perfumes and such worry me. Not her, she doesn't worry about much at 13. Anyway, I hope you get sleep. I hope you get the eating in check (I'm guilty of overeating this time of year too). Your post made me laugh a little bit. I'll eat all of January's calories tomorrow, hahahaha. Better run wishes to you for next time...

@LoveyChar - oh, rough start to the day, ouch! Poor you and your little one. Hope you aren't too sore.

@eleanorhawkins - yikes, another rough start. Hope you feel better very soon.

I took the dog out for a walk, dressed to run right after. On the way back on the trail I decided to try to combine the two activities and see if I could get Stella to run with me for at least a little while. She was not enthused but hung in fairly well. I managed to drag her along for about a mile back to the house, then I deposited her (and she was greatly offended) and headed back out to finish up alone on the roads. The run alone felt surprisingly good today - maybe I needed the comparison of slogging along in the slush with a pouty dog to truly appreciate. :)

Sounds like a fun run! You're racking up the miles, nice job!

As long as those meals don't exceed your typical daily calorie expenditure, they should cancel out, right?

    Running update:
I thought I was feeling better and had started eating again yesterday, so I decided to go ahead and run 5k for the virtual run I signed up for, since today was the last day to do it. About 2k in I realized that I don't really feel better, but was already out there running and not that far from my turnaround point anyway... so just kept going :/ As soon as I finished 5k though, I stopped the watch and walked the rest of the way home. Oh well. Will get some rest and try again in a few days.

I mentioned this crazy cobblestone road a while back. It definitely slows me down, and I go a different way altogether if I'm cycling, but today I had no intentions of trying to run up, so took a picture instead.
