Day/Weight/Comment
12/09 - 173.4
Two parties yesterday. I did the best I could under the circumstances, but did eat too much. Lots of salt, and not enough water, so some of this is definitely water - I can feel it. Oh well. I’ve decided to just eat as healthfully as possible between holiday shindigs, do the best I can at said shindigs, and try not to gain. ‘It’s the season!
12/10 - 172.6
Lunch out with a friend yesterday, but I behaved. Off to the gym!
12/11 - 174
Whaaaa??? Must be the Sunday parties, cuz I’ve been on track since then. Lots of veggies today!
12/12 - 174.6
Nope. I didn’t do this yesterday, so this is time lag still. I had an event last evening and did eat some, but not excessive. No events today, though! Nothing until Sunday, so maybe I can recover a bit before the rest of the holiday gatherings.
12/13 - 174.2
I hauled myself out of bed and was at the Y at 6 this morning — yay! I used to be an early bird for both play (exercise) and work (writing), but got out of the habit last year with cross-country move followed by 6 months of illness/pain. But I’m working myself back into the habit of being very early at the Y (aiming for 5-5:30 arrival) followed by early start writing. I’m a little zombiefied this morning as I couldn’t sleep (and was sorely tempted to whine “tomorrow” and roll over!) but I’m glad I did it. The rest of Dec is the warm up for the “grand opening” in January. Now to the writing.... Have a great weekend, all!
12/14 - 174
Creeping, but in the right direction.
12/15 - 174
Yesterday I reminded myself why I prefer to avoid shopping at all costs this time of year! I hope those of you who “do” the holidays are surviving unscathed. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

New Day - New Start
Hi, my name is Deb. I'm 57 years old and 5'5" tall. I've fought my weight my entire life. After 35+ years "dieting", I still have not figured out what works for me but I have to keep trying. So...
I know its two weeks before Christmas which is always at least a 5 lb gain for me, but if I don't start again right now, it will end up a 10-20 lb gain.
12/9 - 180.4 - I haven't been tracking (actually writing down) what I eat. I'm going to start that today. I haven't been exercising. I'm going to start that today. I am in the habit of posting on MFP here in this challenge (yay me) and will continue by posting my calories, exercise and moods. I love coming here and reading about and sharing in everyone's journey.
12/10 - 177.0 - Good Start. Calories: 1126. Exercise: 20 minutes on the treadmill.
12/11 - 175.0 - Another good day. Calories: 1193. Exercise: 30 minutes on the treadmill
12/12 - 174.6 - Staying on track. Calories 1271. Exercise: 40 minutes on the treadmill
12/13 - 174.0 - Calories: 1091. Exercise: 30 minutes on treadmill/15 minutes on bike.
12/14 - 174.0 - Calories within limit but had salty crackers with my vegetable soup. Exercise: 80 active Fitbit minutes.
12/15 - 174.6 - Calories were a little over due to a glass of wine but the sodium in my veggie soup caused the gain I think. Exercise: 38 active Fitbit minutes. 10657 steps.8 -

12/09 -205.9 Yesterday I was able to keep my evening snacking under control. I'm going to try to go out for a run tonight before it gets dark outside.
12/10 -206.5 I got home late yesterday after work, so it was too dark to run outside. I may have to bite the bullet and go to gym and run on the treadmill after work today. I did not get enough water today, working on that today.
12/11 -206.5 Yesterday at work there was a Christmas lunch and cookie exchange, and, assuming everything goes as usual, I expect a bump on the scale in another day or two. However, I am proud that I didn't go totally overboard and only ate those things that I really wanted to eat and enjoyed. Strength coach tonight.
12/12 -205.9 That's a surprise. Getting a massage tonight.
12/13 -206.1 Sore from my massage yesterday. Plan is to go to gym today.
12/14 -206.5 Didn't do anything last night, I was so tired. Felt heavy this morning, so not surprised about the uptick on the scale. Goal today is to get my water in.
12/15 -205.6 Yesterday was such a mental win for me, I had been in a funk the last 2 weeks. Yesterday, I did not want to go out for my planned run, I hadn't run in almost a week, but I knew that if I didn't go, I wasn't sure when I would run again. But, I went out, finished w7d1, and, as per my Garmin watch, I ran my fastest mile ever! Strength coach today.

Yesterday was a refeeding day and the weight gain was expected. I have decided to continue to ADF with CRF on referring days through Dec 23. On the 24, I go to my niece's first birthday breakfast and that night we will make the traditional German Christmas dinner. I will work on not over indulging on carbs. I plan to make a net 3g carb Eggnog pie to take as my alternative to the higher carb delights. Even if I over do, I can jump right back into my fasting life on the 26th. I would really like to see my weight at 125 before Christmas Eve.
Today I plan to prep for my refeeding days this week.

12/15 - 153.9 - I apparently was right to feel comfortable-ish with my new eating habits. They aren't great, but they're better than eating out all the time. Hoping in January I can start refining my nutrition more while continuing to see a drop. I can't believe I'm this far down, especially after I spent almost 6 months getting down to 153.x before ballooning back up to my (January) start weight just a couple months ago. Proof that mindset is a HUGE factor in my weight. I need to take measurements about now to make sure these drops aren't destroying my muscle too much. Was going to do that this morning but got distracted by the snow (I hate snow, so its not necessarily a happy distraction). Guess I can try tomorrow before work or I'll have to wait until next weekend. I plan on getting back to the gym this week, goal of 2x/week until I rebuild my habit and can increase the frequency. Hoping to maintain or drop again tomorrow instead of a Monday morning weekend bump up

Previous Day's Comments12/09
12/10
12/11 - Okay, not bad for traveling! Back to where I was before BF left. In the truck all day Sunday, unpacking Monday, and car all day yesterday. I'm extremely dehydrated (its a 12 hour drive, I didn't want to stop too awful much by overhydrating) but I did end up sweating in my sleep quite a bit last night that just overcame me. Big water bottle came with me to work today to remedy it. I'm now officially on my own in Kansas. BF text me on my drive in that I need to hurry up and move down because he's meeting all these amazing people and wants me down there to partake in the fun. Guess its going to be a lot more job applications. I do get to call a recruiter today, though, so hopefully he can help a lot more than I can do on my own. Hoping within 6 months I'll be headed down there. Money-wise I'm hoping my bonus and tax return will assist with said move, otherwise I'm going to be in big trouble. But we will figure it out, as always. That's what budgets are for, right?
12/12 - Had our big Christmas lunch here at work yesterday. I was so stuffed it hurt and didn't get hungry again until about 730 (my neighbor was just making food and kindly offered me some since I didn't have dinner made). Surprised I'm not higher, honestly. Scale did flash higher a few times but settled in on this number so I went with it. Depending on today, it may show up tomorrow. Especially since I'm feeling rather sad. Normally I wouldn't be seeing BF on Wednesday night but I felt the lack of his presence anyway. Thankfully my neighbor is so wonderful and took me in. He's from Texas and would love to move back, but because of his kids, he cannot so he understands my homesickness very well. I will get through this! It is only temporary (: Y'all help, as well, by distracting me with your successes and general day-to-day life. I love it!! Gets me through the day.
12/13 - Honestly very surprised I stayed the same. I ate a lot more yesterday and had a few drinks a little later at night. Also woke up later as I got to sleep in today. I'm happy with this! Hopefully this weekend I can focus on prepping meals (whether that be cooking or just putting a plan in place for this week) and start back on a downward trend. I'm also hoping that I can get into the gym at work a couple times a week now that BF is gone and sitting at home is really depressing right now. Good happy endorphins for the win! My neighbor downstairs is also helpful. He is from Texas but stuck in Kansas due to his divorce and agreement with the kids. He lives alone when his girls aren't with him so we will probably hang out and keep each other company more often. Definitely helped last night. Was on a downward spiral so I went down there for tacos and football. Within minutes, I was in a much better mood, I just needed a friendly face and a distraction. At least I have him and the ladies across the street to keep me going until I can move.
12/14 - whoosh much? Definitely thought I gained by wow, I'll take it!! Made homemade chicken and rice last night to get me through a few days and got some of my leftover beef stew out so I could mix things up a bit and not get too bored. Feeling pretty okay with my eating despite not being primal like I want quite yet. Also, go Army, beat Navy (west point grad, I gotta cheer)

UGW 135
Goals 1. Walk two miles or at least hit 10,000 steps everyday
2. Due a toning workout for 20 minutes 5X a week
3. Count calories, less pasta, bread
Ending weight from last round. 165.8 lbs
12/09 - 165.6 (+1.2)
12/10 -165.4 lbs, (+1) I am surprised at the loss considering, I was good all day but my stomach was not well, and I gave into a trail mix about 9pm. On the upside, my stomach did start feeling better and I could go to bed. Before I stepped on the scale this morning, I was thinking of giving up for this month. So I will keep at it. It's just to much going on this month and I know, I am constantly going to be disappointed.
12/11 - 163.6 lbs. (-.8) Made to my goal, just have to maintain. This is a nice surprise. I went shopping with a friend but we both are trying to keep the pounds down so we opted to not go out after shopping but to her place. Only had one light beer and supper was popcorn because I can't drink on an empty stomach. By the time I got home, it was late, no time for snacking just bed. Perfect.
12/12 - 163.2 lbs (-.1.2) on track
12/13 - 163.2 (-1.2) on track, loving that I am not bouncing back up. Though this was a fluke. So glad I didn't give up earlier this round.
12/14 - 163.6 (~.8) while waiting for my son to get home, caved in a late night snack.
12/15 - 163.8 (-.6). Creeping up ward but I got a head cold, old age, and girl issues all dumped on me at once. So I got half the steps in that I want and a third of the steps that I actually was doing this week. Plus I allowed myself a beer and bowl of ice cream to drown in but still stayed under calories. Praying I get better soon I am having Christmas at my house next weekend.

@dawnbgethealthy it looks pretty dramatic (lol especially since I did top out at an undocumented 160.2 during my lost weekend) BUT because I typically eat super low carb- about 50 net grams per day coming from nuts, yogurt, cheese and veggies, those 8-11lbs were legitimately just water weight from eating carbs. I ate so much sugar over three days. So just going back to how I normally eat was all I needed to do drop the bloat.
I am CICO for weight loss. The last pound hanging on is the result of eating a bizillion calories. That pound will come off the same as the last 90, the hard way- eat less and move more!6 -

Day/Weight/Comment
12/09 - 128.6, 10K steps. Colleague brought special sweets and snacks as treats, a favorite but fat and calorie heavy. Compensated on lunch.
12/10 - 126.2, 10K steps. Team lunch at office, controlled my portion. Did have some processed junk food but limited. Got hungry later at night but consciously made 1 slice pbj instead of eating instant noodles or other junk food.
12/11 - 126.2, 10K steps. Controlled eating most of the time except another colleague got sweets and insisted on me eating. Portion controlled but definietly fatty and calorie heavy.
12/12 - 126.2, 10K Steps. Lunch at an event loaded with carbs and fat, lots of pasta, bread and cookie. Heavy but healthy dinner. Skipped drinking.
12/13 - 125, 10K steps, had alcohol, ate at home, snacked mindfully and chose healthy options to snack.
12/14 - 125, 10K steps, light lunch, balanced meals but low in protein. Had more alcohol than planned.
12/15 - 123.6, planned 10K steps, skip drinking, plan is to eat out. Make good choices. I have hit my goal this round. Maintain it.

Height: 5'4"
Age: 45
Starting weight January 2019: 150 lbs
Current weight: 134.2 lbs
Ultimate goal weight: 130 lbs (I will reassess once I get there)
Goal this round: To get under 134 lbs. Honestly, this close to the holidays, I'd be happy to not gain.
I'm a pickleball addict and have been plagued with shoulder/chest/elbow/wrist injuries for about a year. My new plan is to incorporate strength training.
Day/Weight/Comment:
12/09 (Monday) - 134.2 - the weight is going to come off slowly partly because that's my MO and also because I'll be strength training and hopefully adding muscle. Took my measurements last week and will compare those in a month or two. Feeling motivated and on task!
12/10 (Tuesday) - 134.2 again - works for me. I kicked yesterday's behind. 2 hours of pickleball and 30 minutes of strength training (chest and triceps). And ate on point, ended the day with a protein smoothie for dinner. Was pretty exhausted by the end of the day and thought I'd be crazy sore this morning but I'm only a little sore, not too bad at all. Today is a rest day, will do it all again tomorrow. Planning homemade vegetarian chili for dinner tonight. I find it harder to eat right on rest days - partly because I'm not busy working out so I get bored and hungry and partly because I don't have the extra calories available from exercising.
12/11(Wednesday) - 135.2 - hmmph. I’m sure I’m holding onto water as my muscles repair because I am sore from the weight lifting Monday. That has to be it because my calories were under goal yesterday. I may have also had a tad too much salt in the chili last night. Not to worry, still on the right path.
12/12 (Thursday) - 135.0 - Completed day 2 of my new strength training routine yesterday (back and biceps) and I am so very sore this morning. But that's a good thing, looking forward to getting stronger and thwarting any overuse injuries from pickleball. Today is usually a rest day but I'm going to do a pickleball drills class for a couple hours, plenty of cardio. Feeling good and trying not to get frustrated with the scale. I knew adding strength training would stall out the scale, just need to be ok with it. Ate great yesterday, the scale will come around. Crustless broccoli quiche for dinner tonight.
12/13 (Friday) - 135.0 - again. Expecting the scale to give me a nice drop soon, maybe tomorrow? Had a nice legs and shoulders workout this morning followed by 2 hours of pickleball. Plenty of calories burned, just need to eat on point the rest of the day. No pickleball this weekend, the courts are booked for a volleyball tournament. Will have to find some other way to get my exercise.
12/14 (Saturday) - 133.8 - woot! There it is. Now to keep it there. Planning drinks and dinner out with friends tonight, will find a way to make good choices.
12/15 (Sunday) - 133.4 lbs - happy to see this continuing to move down, would love to see that trend continue but we all know it's a roller coaster. Ate well yesterday considering we went out with friends twice for drinks - I split my meal with DH both times. A very fun day and since I snuck in a workout, was able to stay under calories. Was supposed to do an abs workout last night but was exhausted. Will do them today instead. I am surprisingly still very sore from Friday's leg workout - I thought my legs were in good shape from all the pickling. Guess I needed to do some new exercises. Still excited to stay on point BUT some of the candy and holiday sweets in the paper this morning looked pretty darn tempting. Must stay strong! Seeing the scale inch down helps keep me motivated. This is the lowest weight I've seen in maybe 3 years.

12/10-169-Hopefully a walk today, the rain is finally gone.
12/11-167-Got 1/2 of walk done and then went and shoveled mud for hours making trenches. Grueling but worth it; I’m sore.
12/12-I refuse to weigh today. I did half of my walk, went to work, then a party......I think I can be back down tomorrow.
12/13-167-Now I can go into the weekend not up from the party. I am heading to the gym....it’s cold & foggy for a walk.
12/14-167
12/15-167-A party yesterday with tons of carbs and sweets. I just lightly picked and drank coffee.8 -

12/10 133.9kg | -0.7kg | 4,610 steps ❌ | 0 mins exercise ❌ | Did not track ❌ | I have no explanation for this dip in my weight. Sudden drop of water retention? Maybe. I did not do very well yesterday with my food choices and I did not exercise. I am just so tired. I think I need to start taking my iron supplement again, I've been working on getting more sleep but it's just not helping.
12/11 133.5kg | -0.4kg | 3,087 steps ❌ | 0 mins exercise ❌ | Did not track ❌| Again, no explanation for this dip, but I like that it's sticking around!
12/12 133.6kg | +0.1kg | 4,705 steps ❌ | 0 mins exercise ❌ | Did not track ❌ | It was my son's first birthday on the 11th, so I have been super busy this week preparing for that and Christmas, as well as helping hubby with our home renovations (we're putting in a walk-in pantry in the kitchen - it's almost finished now and I can't wait!). We had a fun day at home celebrating with our son and my mother-in-law came to visit for the night as well.
12/13 133.8kg | +0.2kg | 6,376 steps ✅ | 3 mins exercise ❌ | Did not track ❌ | Had a busy day. We had our Secret Santa gift exchange at work, which meant a morning tea full of high-calorie, low-nutrition foods. I tried not to eat too much and didn't eat my lunch but I'm sure I would have been over on calories! After work I had to rush home and take my now 1-year-old to see the nurse for his checkup and get his vaccinations. Poor little fellow had four needles! It takes an emotional toll hearing him scream like that, but I know it's worth it. Then I had to run down to the shops to get some baby paraphernalia to make a nappy cake for a colleague's maternity leave farewell on Friday. I had intended to buy one premade but the joys of living in a small town, the lady was out of town and had her shop shut so I had to make it myself! So that took a few hours in the evening as well. I got lots of steps in, but no actual exercise.
12/14 133.9kg | +0.1kg | 4,213 steps ❌ | 6 mins exercise ❌ | Did not track ❌ | Another busy day with another morning tea at work. I did better at avoiding the naughty foods this time.
12/15 DNW | 5,700 steps ❌ | 0 mins exercise ❌ | Did not track ❌ | Another busy day! Did some crafting in the morning for some gifts my Mum is giving for Christmas (decorated some wine glasses with some cheeky words in vinyl), then had to take baby to a kids' Xmas party in the afternoon - he saw Santa and got a great little present so he was very happy. In the evening, we had my work Christmas party which was a lot of fun but I drank a little (a lot) too much so the hangover on Sunday was very real!
12/16 134.6kg | +0.7kg | 6,555 steps ✅ | 0 mins exercise ❌ | Did not track ❌ | I presume this bump up is a result of the partying and hangover recovery. Hoping to see it head back down soon.
