First weigh in of the new year, and yep alls the same. Switching my goal to maintainable for now, I do plan on losing a bit more in the future.2 -
Happy New Year Challengers! I am back from a great trip to South America where I did not count calories but did stay very active. I actually hiked 13 miles up and down a steep trail. I think my weight loss from the last challenge helped my with my confidence!
Goals for this challenge: Keep logging, daily exercise, expand my palate into more veggies and add back strength training to gain muscle. I really focused on cardio and just learning how to log and now I want to focus on strength and macros. Looking forward to all of our successes here!

12/23: 190.2 Today is baking and fudge day as I prep fresh for the Holidays. No taste-testing for me! Today will be a low carb/low cal day. I’m banking it up for the holiday dinner & festivities. Good luck everyone during the challenge!
12/30: 190.4 And there are the calories I banked up, showing up on the scale as predicted. It was actually worse this week but I had a major whoosh along the way. I’m going for a good week and a better report on Jan 6th weigh-in.

I've been on MFP for just shy of 2 years, now. I was maintaining for the summer and fall, but decided to stop logging and being so strict with myself for the holidays, once Thanksgiving rolled around. After Thanksgiving, lots of Christmas parties, the actual holidays with New Year's, and an all-inclusive week-long vacation, I was up 11 pounds. I enjoyed every dinner, party, and bite, but now it's time to get it back off, and maybe a few more to get to what my original goal really was.
I know VERY well that those last pounds are the hardest to lose.... it took me as long to lose the last 7 pounds as it did the other 33! So I'm looking for a little accountability, which I'm hoping this group will give me!
I'm 5' 0" and am 45 years old. I'm a Montessori teacher, wife, and mom of a college sophomore and a high school sophomore. I had been overweight most of my life... until I found MFP! I love the support, encouragement and motivation of my friends on here!!!

Well it's the measurements that count! This probably means you've got some muscle gain which is absolutely fantastic!1 -
A 1kg gain was not what I was hoping for this morning, although body fat % has reduced from last week so at least that's something. I know weight fluctuates, so will try not to get too hung up on this but instead focus on the fact that I've stayed pretty much within my calorie goal, and that I'm still on track for 0.5kg loss/ week!

It seems to me that often the numbers don't move in parallel the way we expect or want them to o a weekly basis - we lose inches but not weight, weight but not fat etc. It's useful to measure different aspects for that reason; we can see that something is happening and it will all align in the long term.2 -
Highest Weight: 63.5 is the highest weight recently.

I'm ok so far. I have a ways to go but, I'm encouraged by all of you and reading your successes and even your small set backs because they just seem to strengthen your resolve. I cheated big time mid week with the best pecan/caramel sweet roll I've ever had (it was huge!) However I came back and made myself proud as I ate grain bowls every night for supper. I think that's what kept me on track. Keep up the good work you all are doing great.
