@shorepine - we do have so much in common - same weight, kiddo/family stresses, work travel. Except you, my dear, can RUN! When I try to run it makes me have to pee. Seriously though, it is nice to know we are not alone!
@torihudson6 I would be nervous too but I love that you will really get to see your results!!2 -

But, my husband has high cholesterol and I put us on a plant-based diet at home and his numbers came down dramatically and he also lost weight. He still needs a statin but at a much lower dose. There is an amazing book called How Not to Die by Michael Gregor that goes through illnesses chapter by chapter and has recommendations for addressing them with food rather than medicine. I have started to eat more meat to increase my protein as I lose weight but I think there is so much to be said for plant-based eating even if you are just making incremental rather than wholesale changes. I plan to return to it eventually.
Even if I didn't hate most vegetables with my very soul (and I really do)... I can't eat much fiber right now. I gotta limit it to around 10 grams per day, ideally less.
I'm hoping that won't be forever, but fiber is one of my worst enemies right now.2 -
Hi all! It's weigh-in Wednesday for me too.
Highest weight: 435 (11/1/18)--lost 50 lbs. by the end of 2018 but got off track and gained back almost 31 lbs.
SW: 415.8 (4/17/19)
1/1: 297.6--finally made it out of the 300s!

Jan. GW: 287.6
GW: 160 (then reevaluate)
Non-scale goals for January:
- hit my goal of doing the exercise bike 5 times during the week
- also did short walking videos twice a day 5 times during the week
- got my 2 strength training sessions in
- started doing some chair yoga; did that 3 times last week; want to add a couple more poses/exercises this week
- work on my sleep schedule--this didn't happen. Still need to work on a more consistent schedule.
Hope you all are doing well. Continued good luck as you work to reach your goals!10 -
Hi, I’m a serial starter but hoping that a regular intake of antidepressants and cutting out alcohol is going to make all the difference. Exercise at the moment is hitting 10,000 steps a day at a good pace, food intake within calorie allowance and making better choices with no binges.
SW 1st Jan 2020 250.6
CW 8th Jan 2020 246.8
Mini goal, 200 for doctor’s appointment on 30th June and hba1c under 7% (t1 diabetic).
I’d love some more friends so please send a request.

@Brownsugar174 That's so cool! I haven't met too many people from this area!1

@aliciap0116, thank you, it was nerve wracking, but the photos are kept private (unless you chose to show them at the end). I also had my measurements taken and got to use a machine that tracks your weight, body fat %, and muscle mass. Then the coach says we do another one at 5 weeks and then one at 10 weeks. So, I am excited to see progress! I hope you are able to find your groove again, it is hard when things get thrown off for a bit.
@BrownSugar174, thank you! I am hoping to build some endurance. I also realized I sent a friend request to the wrong Brown Sugar (whoops) haha, so I resent it.
@flimflam87, thanks! I do know that I will be happy that I took them in the long run. I do not like being in photos in general, so to have to be in one where I am wearing only a sports bra and shorts was terrifying.
@shorepine, great loss! You definitely can do it, it is hard to have our schedules thrown out of wack.3 -

@BrownSugar174 That looks like so much fun, but tough!! Congrats on tackling it!2

I lost 6.8lbs this week!!! I am so happy, I had a great week eating and don't feel deprived. My goal in January was to lose 5 pounds lol I want to now see if I can double my original 5 pound goal. Obviously I need to keep up my habits to not regain what I lost, very motivated to do so. My weight jumped up 11 pounds from 12/6/19 to 1/1/20, so a lot of this is the holiday bloat.
2020 Resolutions
1. Prioritize healthy lifestyle through action (logging food, exercise, healthy choices, etc.)--> I feel I have done this, I have logged all my food, even when I went over. I went to a family party and was able to stay in control where I would normally use the excuse of being together to indulge.
2. Make more time to socialize with friends/fam--> My family is scheduling one family dinner a month, we have January scheduled for the 18th. Also have a friend gathering on the 17th with friends. Definitely need to have a meal plan for those events, I have time to figure it out.
3. Try a new recipe once a week--> I tried 2 new recipes last week, Garlic and herb lamb with Greek lemon potatoes, they were both really good and things I do not normally cook.
4. Run 1/2 marathon--> have not started training yet, focusing on walking for now, may start running next month. I expect to do this race in October/November.
5. Pay off car--> Total remaining $6740, I am almost done paying a major credit card bill, so I will be able to send more after March.
January Goals
1. Lose 5 pounds--> DONE, hoping to double it!
2. Walk/Run/Hike 30 miles (1 mile a day) --> IN PROGRESS/4.43mi (need to pick this up more, I've fallen behind)
3. Gym 2X week--> I have not gone once, will prioritize for next week
4. Meditate using Stop, Breathe, Think App Daily--> I only used it twice last week. Will also prioritize and set an alarm so I can't "forget"10 -

Hi everyone. I am a stay at home momma with 4 children. They are ages 8, 7, and the twins are 4. Before the twins came along I was a wonderful size 8 and weighed in at 148. But I gained 90 lbs with that pregnancy and afterwards faced a battle with postpartum depression. I still battle PPD but have it under control. Now is the time to get healthy and lose the weight. It always seems easy when the scale is moving in the right direction. I will encourage you and you can encourage me. We can do this!!!12 -

So, I was close to perfect with every fitness goal except for water during the first half of the week and yet I gained nearly a pound. My body composition scale says I'm losing fat. I want to believe that. Still waiting for the whoosh. I'm not discouraged, just impatient. As I like to say, "God, grant me the patience, and GIVE IT TO ME NOW!"10 -
Hi ladies, your posts are so inspiring. I have a Fitbit 3 and like it. It's so useful for tracking food. Am thinking of trying some 'moderate' intermittent fasting. Maybe 9 hrs to start- so would be from 11 pm to 8 am. Then switch to 10 pm to 8 am. I stay up late and that's when it's so easy to snack. I've tried to go to bed earlier, but sometimes have commitments at night so don't get home till 10 pm. Losing weight is hard, but not losing it is harder. Stay the course ladies!!! ❤❤5

Bleh, my boyfriend has had a bad cold the last week and it finally got me. Right as I was about to deep clean the house. I’ve ate out more this week than I normally do, just with lunch dates with old friends or my mom, so I’m trying to get back on track with eating at home.
I’m hoping I feel better by Saturday because that is when the kickboxing orientation is and while we’re there we have to complete a mile, push-ups, sit-ups, and a sit and reach just so we can see numbers and what to improve. Also, thank you to everyone who had encouraging words about the photos! I know a lot of people can relate to the uncomfortablity of taking photos.
@speyerj, you rocked your week! Dang, go you. The scale will reflect eventually, especially if you keep killing it like that.
@finngirl61, I found fasting helpful because I like snacking, so knowing I can only eat between a certain time and that my meals have to count, help me not snack as much because I want my calories to go towards yummy foods that keep me full versus a bag of chips.7 -
2020 Goals:
Adapt to holistic healthly lifestyle.
Regular exercise
Wholesome meals
Lose the pounds to get to a healthy weight and prevent obesity related medical problems
Nightly reading
Staying within budget/ Building savings
Continued growth in marriage
Run a 5k this Spring
The best part of this journey is that my husband is willing to be apart of it. The last time I was "serious" about weight loss I became very obsessive and my emotions were very unstable. I hope that I have learned from that experience and have more awareness of the reality of weight loss. There will be stalls and that's part of it. I'm excited to get back into the gym and start lifting again. I miss being strong and I'm excited to have definition in my muscles. I'm7 -

We have very similar stats and stories!!! I’ve always been big, however so losing the weight has always been a challenge. My twins are 3. My oldest is 10 and the next one is turning 7 next month. I battle depression too, and today to manage my stress eating I had eggs with some cheese. I feel proud of that decision because, even though it’s still eating, it’s not a large portion and it’s not junk food or high carb.
@BrownSugar174 holy moly woman!!! Rock that machine! It looks terrifying!6 -

I've yo-yo'd a lot in my life and was actually down to 246 back in 2014. Really i'm not far from that weight now. I workout all the time. I enjoy a great sweat session. But i equally love foods...surprise right?! My 2020 goals are to run again, lose a total of 100lbs (meaning get to 222.8lbs), go horseback riding (most places have a weight limit of 225lbs), and to pay of the last of my credit cards to become debt free.
My January goals are:
1. Attend 22 Camp Gladiator camps (i love camp gladiator...think boot camp but fun!)
2. lose weight and inches
3. Follow a 30 day sit-up challenge
4. have at least 2 cardio days a week (I need to work my way back up to being able to run for distance)

So far so good. Since January 1st down 4 lbs. I love seeing the numbers go up. It was on 0 for a minute. I am really sticking to my program and watching, tracking and not getting too crazy about it. And I am also moving it everyday. I have a bike ride this weekend since it is going to be almost 60. I will take the nice weather and hang with like minded people.9
