I missed reading the last age of posts.
@Tarzan37 I have a FITBIT Versa it is the Fitbit version of the Apple smart watch. It tracks stairs, steps, miles and minutes of exercise, calories, sleep, heart rate, and I can wear it in the pool. It sincs with MFP. It reminds me of how many steps I need per hour to reach my ste goal. I need to do a better job of making better use of it. You can put in a step goal. Mine is set too high for my life now. I even can see my texts on it.
@LilPetesMama sorry to hear about this loss. It is a healthy step to start taking care of yourself.
@HurleyHurley I love the picture. I used to do interval runs before my Drs said to stop. I remember the day I went running in the snow. I really miss running.
I feel better about the weekend. I set up my 2020 spreadsheet and filled it out for the last 2 weeks. We have done some grocery shopping but no cooking yet. So more to get done before the week starts.

@finngirl61 for photos I would choose something body conscious (tank top and yoga pants, or similar) so you can see your body changes as you progress. I accidentally wore a too tight neon yellow shirt for my first one so I now use it when doing my comparisons but probably would have chosen differently in retrospect!
@Tarzan37 I have an Apple Watch (the 4) and it calculates heart rate, steps, and syncs to MFP as well. Before that I had the FitBit Alta which also did all of that. The Apple Watch also has other functionality to sync to your watch which is nice but not essential.
@LilPetesMama I’m so sorry you lost your mom. M glad you are here and found this group. I’ll add you as a friend.5 -
Height: 5'6"
SW (09/08/2019): 239.2 lbs
January SW (1/1/20): 202.4 lbs
1/5/20: 199.2 lbs
January GW: 195 lbs
GW: 150 lbs (then reconsider)
My goals for January are:- Cardio for 45-60 min, 5-6 times a week, 3 of the sessions Couch-to-5K workouts - Check
- Advance in the Couch-to-5K plan to Week 3 workouts. I plan to repeat each week of workouts 3 or 4 weeks, depending on how my lower-body joints are holding up – yesterday’s week 2 workout felt pretty good. I’m somewhat hesitant about moving on, but I think I will try week 3 tomorrow and back down if it’s too soon.
- Core exercises at least 3 times a week - Check
- Take better care of my skin in hopes it will start to regain its shape. This was pretty easy this week, being off and taking it easy. My skin on my thighs, abdomen, and upper arms disgusts me right now.
- Onederland for more than a day or two. I was 199.8 lbs for the last two days of 2019! Two days in a row under 200 as of today.
- Re-achieving my 100-pound weight loss from my original weight-loss efforts in 2013-2014. Hopefully, done. Remains to be seen if I’ve got one or two more upward bounces over 200.
So many new faces in the group, welcome to all! Welcome back to everyone who was in the previous thread. I want to get this posted before bedtime so I’ll make this one a short one. Back to a regular work routine tomorrow, which actually means I’ll get to post on a more regular basis!

Hello. I am new to MFP.
SW/CW 283
GW 180
First goal 250
I'm 41 with a very energetic 2 year old. I want to lose weight and get more energy.
My biggest NY resolution is to lose weight, use MFP, stop drinking soda, and start drinking more water.
I'm looking for friends and motivation!
Good much everyone!8 -
@LilPetesMama I’m so very sorry for the loss of your mother😢. Please know that our prayers go out to you and your family💞.2

@beth1978mfp Hello and Welcome! This is an excellent place to find like minded friends and motivation to meet and stick to your goals! You can do it!!!4
-
@LilPetesMama I lost my mom a few years ago, it's so hard. I'm sorry that you're dealing with that. It slowly gets easier, so be really kind to yourself as you go on. ♡8

Good morning 😃
I’m really happy with m journey so far. I did well with my weight loss and the holidays. I’ve lost 11.8 lbs between Thanksgiving and New Years‼️
My biggest motivation to continue is my WEIGHT LOSS! Sending the pounds roll off ... feeling my clothing grow looser and looser. I’ve had to give away ALL of my clothes. It’s been fun restocking though 😊❣️
Height: 5’4”
SW: 307
CW: 215.0
GW: 160
Jan GW: 205
I plan to incorporate weight lifting 3X per week. I want to add stretching to increase flexibility.14 -
I lost a lot of weight in 2019 (though things got rocky in the last few months). This year, I want to add exercise on top of my weight loss. Even just a little bit is better than none. I had a few short-lived moments of exercising last year, but this year I want it to be more solid and regular. And of course, I want my weight loss to continue. My goal for 2020 would be to lose 50 (more) pounds, but I think I'd be okay with 30-35.8

Good Morning!
I'm not "new" to MFP, but am re-starting this year. I know I definitely need motivation and accountability and I just get in my head too much and that's what trips me up.
I'm a super busy mom of 2 boys and a full-time middle school teacher. I also own a business with my family so I work part-time there. Due to the craziness of my life, I really need to plan ahead for success, and I know that, but often fail to follow through. I'm really hoping to stick to it this time.
SW/CW: 260.4
Height: 5' 2"
Jan. GW: 250
Ultimate Goal: 150
January Goals:
*Drop 10 pounds
*Exercise 3x/week for 1 hour each time
*Keep calories under 1400/day
*Drink 100 ounces of water/day
*Eat 3-4 servings of fruits & veggies/day9 -
Hello, I'm not a new MFP user, but I'm a frequent "started and didn't follow through" member. I'm determined to make 2020 better. I'm 47, 5'3" and I'm tired of the way I look. I am tired of being tired all the time, I'm tired of the way my clothes fit, and I'm tired of always feeling like I'm not making myself a priority. 2020 is ME TIME.
I'm still working on my goals, but I've found that keeping things simple is better for me, so here goes:
SW:224
CW:218
Ending Goal Weight:140
ULTIMATE NON-SCALE GOAL: I am going to a Great Gatsby 20s theme wedding in October, and I found the perfect dress and I want to walk into that wedding on the arm of my handsome date, looking f-ing amazing and show my ex husband (he's invited too) that he is just a speed-bump in my rear-view mirror. Revenge is a really good motivator.
January goal weight: 210
January Goals:
-Drink 80oz water every day
-Go to the gym at least 4 times/week and do some kind of exercise at home on non-gym days
-Lower carbs, higher protein and better food choices
-STOP MINDLESS SNACKING!
I wish us all success in 2020, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
Dani

Check-in!
SW: 272
12/30: 255.5
1/6: 253
January goals:
-Kickboxing class hasn’t started yet, but I have been going to the gym three times a week completing the C25K app to try and build some more endurance. Running is hard!
-Continue logging all my food honestly and accurately—I’ve been doing that! Even when I had one too many brownies.
-Cut my Chipotle eating to once every two weeks and then hopefully down to once a month by February—this is still a work in progress, I’m trying though.
-Lose 5 more pounds and hopefully inches as well with the kickboxing—currently down 2.5lbs!
Thank you for everyone who gave me some tips about avoiding the brownies, I definitely had two pieces too big, BUT I didn’t eat half the pan like I would’ve done in the past, so I consider that a win. Sorry I’ve been a little quiet on here, welcome to everyone who is new! I’ve read everyone’s posts and it’s been so inspirational seeing all the different goals. We can do this! I hope to be posting more regularly on here once I’m back at work/school and in a routine again.12 -
Happy New Year All!
This has been the first time I can sit down and actually type out a comment. Since I am not at home, I have no idea what I weigh, as I didn't weigh myself once during my two weeks off. Right now, the goal is to lose 4lbs this month, whatever that gives me. I'll weigh first thing tomorrow to update.
On the 1st, I took my family to a campsite and we "relaxed." We hiked, watched movies and spent time together as a family to regroup. It wasn't as picturesque as one would think, but we had a GOOD time. We spent all day Friday hiking Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave in Ohio. It was tiring, and I am still sore from the stairs, but BOY did it feel good to get out with nature (even though it rained most of the trip).
So here is to the New Year. I am not going to give 1000 of the same resolutions, so my goal this year is to "do better." And publish a book. I think they are both doable! Thanks to this group for always being the place to read when support is needed. It takes a village.8 -
2 days until weigh in and although I haven't posted much in here this month I just wanted to say hello to everyone. So nice to see so many posts on here! It's exciting to read through everyone's goals for the month and year! We can do this! Every day is a step towards our goals!! Have a rocking week!!10

Welcome to all the new posters
@aliciap0116 Nerd Sisters Unite lol. Limiting movie popcorn is a hard thing to do but you did great. I know being self conscious about we how look is a struggle but I'm sure your pictures will be beautiful. What makes a picture special is the emotions of those in it. The feeling you have of being with your family will be shining in your eyes and no matter our size we are all beautiful.
@finngirl61 Welcome to the thread. One of my best motivations is reading this thread and the one on success stories. I also skim over the general, nutrition, and fitness threads. Seeing how others are dealing with and overcoming struggles let's me know I'm not on this journey alone. Plus I learn so many things to help me be successful in achieving my goals. Track all food even the bad and overage. Be honest with yourself so you can learn what needs improving. Definitely take photos and measurements. Sometimes the scale may not move much but your body will show changes. You can do it.
@HurleyHurley Another excellent adventure in the books. Congrats on making it a 2nd time with the run and for beating the boys in a sprint. I bet they were shocked because we all know moms aren't supposed to be fast.
@LilPetesMama I'm sorry you lost your mom. Grieving is a long and difficult journey and I hope you find peace in the days ahead. Take things here one step at a time. Start with the easy things like the posting you mentioned. Also log if you can. Don't worry about the numbers just get an idea of where you are. Then you can make a plan on moving forward. hugs
@Momeri1113 glad you joined us. Wanting to become healthier to help teach your son about having a better relationship and understanding of nutrition is awesome.
@KeriA Good job on getting your spreadsheet ready. Hopefully you got some time to get meal planning and prepping done. I've been behind on that myself and not being prepared makes things harder.
@mmdeveau Excellent week!! Hoping you can begin the wk3 with success. If not that's ok be you'll get there. You've pushed through a lot to get where you are and that determination will keep you moving forward.
@pamiede Losing almost 12lbs during the holidays is amazing!!! Have fun restocking the wardrobe.
@DaniMerc72 You will be able to rock that dress!! Keep it hanging where you can see it to be a constant motivation reminder. I like simple too.
@torihudson6 Stopping at two brownies is way better than half a pan. Brownies are just so hard to resist esp when straight out of the oven. Doing great with the gym visits and logging everything. Keep going!
@lilann1961 Happy you had a great vacation with the family and getting back to nature. Sometimes a good nature hike can do a lot for our soul. Here's to "doing better" this year.
@Candyn617 Hi back at ya Got to agree all the energy and goals being posted is a great motivator. Hope you have a great week and keep stepping.
Finally got my sweet potato chunks roasted along with a few season hamburger steaks. I still need to do up a rice pilaf and stir fry some chicken breast to round out the week. Think that will wait til tomorrow though. Got my elliptical in but I'm definitely sore from yesterday's strength day. I added in some new moves and a few more reps so was proud of being able to do that. Still on my baby 3lb dumbbells but my new 5lb kettles are waiting on me. Hope everyone has a great day.

Some excellent goals here guys!!!!! You’ve all inspired me and today I got my butt back into the gym. First time since November is. It felt good... no, it felt great!
Today I heard, it’s not one great leap that makes the change but a thousand tiny steps!

Got my blood test results back. Although I was half expecting it, it still hurts to see that losing weight has caused massive spikes in my cholesterol.
Just waiting for my doctor to give me hell about it now. That's exactly what I need right now after all, more reasons to be miserable.
This new year isn't a week old and it already sucks so much. Feels bad.14 -
Hi everyone! Welcome all the new posters! The goal setting, exercise accomplishments and the NSVs are inspiring!
I had a less than stellar weekend, but reading through your posts helps me stay positive! In addition to my goals I have set, I need to add "to do better on weekends"! Although I didn't go over calories, my macros were awful and I know that I need to keep that in sync or the pounds will come on.
I went out to eat Friday with work friends instead of going to gym after work. Ugh
I didn't feel well Saturday so I didn't do anything and Sunday was spent doing everything I should have done Saturday plus Sunday...so no hiking/bicycling. I did wash my car and I wish there was something to add for that because it wore me out! I also washed and cleaned up my bike (bought it off letitgo and it was in bad shape, but cheap)...but didn't ride it...got dark.
Last night, my foot (which has had challenges) was throbbing/cramping and I couldn't go to sleep ...ugh...so the 6am alarm to go to the gym was snoozed this morning. I brought my clothes and I am going tonight regardless though...I will get this exercise thing in my routine! You all inspire me!!!
I appreciate you letting me get that all out...I call it confession I was raised a catholic! But it is nice to get it out and hold myself accountable the next time. I know what I have to do, it's just so hard sometimes! Thanks for reading!
Any who, I hope to have some time to reply individually but with so many new members it's hard! Again, who can I talk to at MFP to let us reply to each post?
My check in is on Friday, hoping staying within calories for the most part, that I will see a loss! Have a great week!9 -
@Terytha Sorry your cholesterol levels came back high. I thought losing weight would help that. Mine runs a little high and was hoping to get a drop at my next visit. Maybe the dr won't be awful about and instead be encouraging with ways to lower it. Keep think of all the weight your dropped and the good changes you have made. That's a lot to be happy about. Hugs
@mmccloy12 Sorry you haven't been feeling well and that your foot is acting up. Staying in your calories is more important than macros so don't sweat the times when those are off. Besides sometimes ya just gotta hang with friends and have good time no matter if the macros don't fit. Next time you was the car log it as cleaning heavy. That's hard work and you get credit for it. Have a great workout and watch the foot.

Welcome to all newcomers! Excited to hear about your progress
@LilPetesMama way to go! I weigh in on Wednesday, hoping for a nice loss as well
@mmccloy12 let it out girl. Weekends are definitely rough. I was successful this past weekend because I planned my food ahead of time, even when I ate out. Hoping you see that loss on Friday!
@Terytha you are doing the right things to be healthier and should not let those test results get you down. Our bodies don’t always adjust to changes as fast as we’d like, hoping talking to your doctor you guys can figure out a plan
@torihudson6 2 big pieces is not so bad as what damage could have been done. I had a similar issue with Cheetos this weekend, I had 2.5 servings BUT I documented them so held myself accountable, I could have definitely eaten more!
I had a pretty good weekend. I had a family party Saturday where they made tacos. I logged my food and went over but I was honest and logged everything. I didn’t drink, which helped me not slip up. Sunday I went out to dinner with my little bro, I had the spinach lasagna. I hoarded calories earlier in the day for this. Overall a good weekend, I feel like I can expect to be closer to my calorie limit or go a little over but not toss everything out the window and go crazy. All I all I felt in control. Being a binger, this was a very great feeling.
No walking over the weekend but I made it out today for 1.57 mi. Mile total is up to 4.43mi. Goal is 30mi. Hope everyone’s week started off well and if it didn’t, hope it gets better soon 💕8 -
So I decide to purchase a few pair of jeans today from TJMAXX. After loosing 50 pounds I’ve had to put a few extra holes in my belt and cinch my size 22W jeans at the waist😊. I decided on jeans that have a little stretch to them. Well...I got in a 14W. Could not believe it at all! Did a little happy dance😊😂

@BrownSugar174 - Wahoooooo! Looking great! Man, I bet that feels good. I haven't seen size 14 in at least...let me think...30 years or so. Living for the day I'll see it again. Huge congratulations, such a marvelous NSV. Revel in it, shake a booty, and enjoy!4

Well, they want to biopsy the lump in my thyroid. No, I don't know when, someone will call me. Yes, I ate an unscheduled bagel for carbohydrate comfort since I'm out of Valium. Gah. This is not the way I want to do 2020.12

SW: 233lbs
CW: 203.9
GW: 165
Currently working hard to lose the baby weight from my first pregnancy (I have 2 kids now, 2.5 years and 4.5 months). I’m only 4lbs away from getting out of the 200s and I’m really really exited! I am currently on a 98 day log in streak.11 -
I'm 229. Two years ago I was 195. Lost motivation in everything. Now it's hard to exercise because I just found iut I have arthritis in my joints, but I'm not giving up! I'm going to join the gym which is near by and do water aerobics! This is my year!10

Wow! Someone disagreed with me going from a 22W to a 14W😂😂...I know it was actually a hug💞14
