I have not been on here all week I think! Like so many of you, I am really struggling now, not only with weight management, but feeling down and just not with it. This time of year I always struggle .. this year is worse than most.

They moved my SIL to a hospice house over the weekend, so it is just a matter of a few days. All this is so very hard to believe, because she was always so healthy. Both of her parents lived well into their 90s, so it just never crossed our minds that at 76 she would be gone. Yes, to some 76 is a good age .. but that is only 5 years more for me. And to me, 76 is still young (well, not old LOL). And it was so quick .. to not even know she was sick, then find out she herself was only given 4 months.

We did talk to our son for about a hour, so that made me feel better. I was starting to worry about him as well. You know .. its like you start worrying about one thing, then everything!

So today I am going to work hard at eating extra healthy, and trying to stay positive. I will write out just a few Christmas cards. We are going very light with Christmas gifts.. sending the grandkids money instead of a lot of gifts, and that is done. I talked to hubby, and Christmas Eve and Christmas day he is OK with at least letting our daughter come in our patio room. It will be cold, but I will turn on the heater, and I have a little Christmas tree out there. So I'm sure her visit will be short, but at least she does not have to be alone in her apartment. Oh .. the vacine just can't get here soon enough!

I bought my daughter and son in law heated throws for Christmas. They like sitting outside around a fire in the Winter but they get too chilled. I thought this might help them, maybe it would work on your porch too.

I’m happy your husband relented, I understand his concern but it has put you in a terrible position. One I wouldn’t want to be in.

@PackerFanInGB and @Bex953172 - my paternal Grandmother had 100 and some grand and up to 3X great when she passed in 1997 at the age of 92.

I became a Grandmother on my 43rd birthday and love every minute of it. I hope I get to see Great Grandchildren too.

My Maternal grandmother passed in 2009 so my girls knew her and remember her.

I have been working 10-12 hour days for weeks on end now it seems. Last weekend I even worked on Sunday.

This week will also be insane, but I’m really hoping to get a good break between Christmas and New Years.

I’ll try to catch up more on the weekend. It’s after midnight and I’m heading to bed now.

Right there with 'ya! After nine months of this, I am TIRED and mentally fried. I would like to be non-essential for a couple of weeks, thank you very much. :)

So, today I worked, I did my home workout and 20 burpees. My goal is 300 for the month and I am at 180 as of today. My tiny dance friends are doing 3000 burpees in December, but I am not tiny and not insane. :)

My goal is to do some tracking tomorrow and to set concrete goals on Monday.

      Sunday

No real goals today apart from the usual.

Im so tired, didn't get much sleep, could've done with more lol. But I just took the dog on a 2km walk. I set my watch to vibrate when I hit 1km (which funnily enough is the pub down the road 😂) then turned around and walked back.
Forgot to take my hat so I've got a slight headache from the cold. Nothing a nice hot brew won't fix though lol!

      Hope everyones okay

Sorry about your SIL @mytime6630. Just know I'm here if you ever need it!

@mytime6630 Joan, my deepest sympathy to you & your family on the loss of your SIL. (((hugs)))

JFT M 12/21 ~ reset early alarm, did not x-train before work as planned
      1) Move hourly / stairs breaks (3 floors)
      2) Prelog meals & snacks / net cals zer0 / 14c water
      3) Work at office: submit leave request for W / AJNH / call T w/ questions / Facebook Live 12:00 / keep up w/ emails

      5) UNPLUG 9:00 / FLOSS / RETAINERS / Voltaren / 6:00 alarm (x-train before work)

I'm having lots of roller coaster emotions lately, and started to eat for comfort. Fighting with myself to stay positive.

Last Thursday my home computer crashed. Thanks be to God and His timing, it was also the first day I had a brand new laptop for work. The first attempt at recovery seemed to go well, but next day repeat fixes had to run. Went that way until Sunday, when boot file wasn't recognized. Hubby spent most of day working on and made progress. Still this morning PC was "running fixes". ARGH!!!! I am grateful I have the laptop to use in the meantime, and hubby's computer is working.

Sunday evening, hubby & I went to church for A Bethlehem Experience (outdoors & Covid-friendly practices). Started with family photo, hot chocolate & cookie. Then we walked along a luminary path past the inn at Bethlehem, by the shepherds in the fields tending their flocks, the angel Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus in the manger, and the three kings from the East looking for Jesus. Each group told us their part of the birth of Jesus Christ. Wonderful Christmas experience!

Weekly Weigh-In = When I'm active I eat back calories. My weaknesses: I love food... my sweet tooth, especially chocolate... portion control... FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I peek occasionally other days. My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale. No goal dates set ~ this is not a diet but my lifestyle.

Age 63, 5'4" (have permanently lost half inch ~ bummer)
      GW #1: 150 in a livable way = It's. Not. A. Diet.
      GW #2: 145 normal BMI
UG maintain: 145 - 150 (need to be realistic)

11/5/15 = 195.0 joined MFP with no real plan except It's. Not. A. Diet.
1/10/17 = 185.5 clearly not a regular on MFP / joined JFT, best group ever!
5/31/17 = 180.5 two end of month celebrations / committed to posting weekly weigh-in
      06/03 = 177.5
      06/10 = 179.5 pre-10K spaghetti supper night before
06/17 = 179.5 numerous meals away from home, several occasions w/ alcohol, happy no gain
06/24 = 178.0 fluctuated during week, but ended ok

      08/26 = 172.0 kind of a surprise
09/02/17 = 170.0 Woohoo! Officially overweight, not obese

Kept up with my usual goals of meds etc.
But I didn't have chance to walk dog today. Well in hindsight there was time but my mind was just elsewhere today.

The girls bedtimes are out the window so that's a struggle every night again now. All down to Casey. Fancy having a sleep regression right around Christmas!
I was staggering bedtimes so they wouldn't disturb each other and it was working. But now she won't go to sleep she keeps the others awake all night. So I decided to change it so Marley goes first then Sask and Sask gets it, she's just like yeah okay, no problem. But marley starts crying that she has to wait for Casey to go sleep. So it's bedtime chaos. Its 9.30pm and she's still up now lol!

I hate England sometimes. With all its rain and clouds.
Tonight we should be able to see the "Christmas Star" which is really just Jupiter and Saturn aligning to appear as a really bright star in the sky. Aaaaand its cloudy. And won't be back for another 800 years.

      Soooooo. Yeah.

I hope everyones sorted for Christmas. We've pretty much just sorted everyone's presents. We were dead happy until we realised we haven't got sellotape 😂

I leave a particular cup by the kitchen sink. It helps me to remember, Joan did a challenge a couple of years ago which was just this, the red cup challenge. She just left one by the sink and every time she saw it she'd have a cup of water :)

Ok... I think I know what my issue is.. I’ve been letting fri-Sunday be “everything goes” days.. not worrying about calories, beer, or food quality... the issue I think is that I’ve let my daily goals slip and then I am not focused on Monday.

Getting close to time to clean up eating again. I said to myself after Christmas I was gonna get back into training mode. The good thing is mile-wise I’ve been putting just as much time effort into pedaling. The bad thing is I’m up 12 lbs so that’ll hurt on the hills.

      Sorry to ramble

Things feel so surreal this year. Normally I would be in full Christmas schedule mode, but not this year.
Focus is wavering slightly. We are hoping for good weather tomorrow as family are trying to get together for a walk to exchange presents. If it's wet we will meet in our garage, which has doors at each end. My girls don't want to put us at risk, as our numbers are rising again. There are now strict guidelines in force, so we are doing virtual Christmas Day dinner, and present opening.

DH has a dental appointment this morning for a root canal filling, and I have to finish wrapping presents.

      Courage, my little chickadees!
We've all got to do it to get through it!

@bex95123 Thank for the tip, I will try filling my bottle and keeping it with me. One reason for not drinking is that I’ve not been doing my exercise so not feeling as thirsty.

Weigh 😊 Happy Scale weight trend ⬇️ 0.8 kg lost in the last 7 days. The scales are really bouncing around at the moment and the trend is for a very slow loss. I’m now only 1 kg from my goal so I know it’s going to be up and down especially with the festive goodies and a feeling that I deserve treats!

You got it right yesterday! You got more ticks than crosses!
Id probably get them presents wrapped though 😂I wrapped all my kids presents last night and it took me and Ash about 3 hours... We have too much again this Christmas lol. Is there such thing as too much lol? Our tree is already rammed with other presents form family and Santa still needs to come!

Recap T 12/22 ~ Repeat of yesterday: reset early alarm, did not x-train before work as planned. Was active & late to bed previous night. Not going to beat myself up about it.
        1) Move hourly / stairs breaks (3 floors) :) 13/14 & 9k
        2) Prelog meals & snacks / net cals zero / 14c water >:) peanut M&Ms & no exercise cals!!! -597 & 14c
        3) Work at office: AJNH / update Project Status s/s / submit PRO & PAR s/s / keep up w/ emails / out of office message = 5/5
        4) Read Luke 21-22 & Advent booklet / water tree (a.m. & p.m.) / wash towels (start as soon as get home) / at least 1 other chore = 4/4
        5) UNPLUG 9:00 / FLOSS / RETAINERS / Voltaren / no alarm for vacation day (walk dog) >:) 2/5

JFT W 12/23 ~ vacation day at home
        1) Walked dog 4.17 mi  happy dog & happy me
        2) Move hourly
        3) Eat up leftovers & log meals & snacks / net cals zero / 14c water
        4) Read Luke 23 & Advent booklet / water tree (a.m. & p.m.) / wrap hubby's gifts (maybe even what I already have for his bday in Jan.) / drain cleaner in upstairs bathroom / wash dishes / complete charity donations / pay property tax online / prep niece's bday card / at least 1 other chore
        5) UNPLUG 9:00 / FLOSS / RETAINERS / Voltaren / no alarm for vacation/holiday (walk dog)

Another gray, cloudy, dreary day. Small rain showers & feels damp. Mild temps for this time of year at 46F (7.8C) but a bit breezy. Weather is supposed to turn much colder tonight & tomorrow, much more seasonal. If wet pavement doesn't freeze, I can layer up and still walk dog outside since no danger of slip and falls. Sure beats the basement treadmill. And at least when I'm home I can turn lights on on both Christmas trees & enjoy. That always cheers me up.

Log 😊 just before updating this post! Normally I log in advance so that I can make informed decisions - it does help with staying in the green and meeting fruit and veg target.

Well done to everyone who's managed to keep eating well. I'm afraid I've fallen off the wagon a bit. Will climb back on again soon though! I have kept walking almost every day though.

Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Christmas. Keep safe everyone.
