Wishing all my JFT friends a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! May you have a blessed day, and stay safe and healthy!

Recap W 12/23 ~ vacation day at home
    1) Walked dog 4.17 mi  happy dog & happy me
    2) Move hourly :) 12/14 & 16.6k
    3) Eat up leftovers & log meals & snacks / net cals zero / 14c water :) green 5 & 10c not sure if I logged correctly
    4) Read Luke 23 & Advent booklet / water tree (a.m. & p.m.) / wrap hubby's gifts (maybe even what I already have for his bday in Jan.) / drain cleaner in upstairs bathroom / wash dishes / complete charity donations / pay property tax online / prep niece's bday card / at least 1 other chore ~ yes = 8/9
    5) UNPLUG 9:00 :/ yes except video of Advent service / FLOSS / RETAINERS / Voltaren / no alarm for vacation/holiday (workout) = 4/5

    JFT Christmas Eve 12/24 ~ work holiday/vacation
    1) X-train in basement / move hourly
    2) More leftovers & log / net cals zero / 14c water
    3) Bake cake & frost / make salad / bank for bday card cash / pick up bread order / mail niece's bday card / prep pots & pans for tomorrow's dinner / pay property tax online (maybe, not due until 12/31) / water tree (a.m. & p.m.)
    4) Read Luke 24 & Advent booklet / Christmas Eve service 10 p.m. with hubby
    5) UNPLUG 9:00 / FLOSS / RETAINERS / Voltaren / 8:30 alarm (church 10 a.m.)

I am excited that hubby was told to report to work early today. That means he comes home mid-evening, instead of after midnight. We will be able to attend the last candlelight service at church together!

Weather turned quickly yesterday evening. A strong wind gust whipped our outer front door open & tore the spring closer from the door frame. Dog was trembling (she has developed great fear of windy conditions). Snow flurries fell through night, and wind chill temp now -1F (-18.3C). Not even an inch of snow fell, but I'm worried there's some ice beneath. With that & temps, worried about slip & falls if I walk dog. Decided it's a good day to x-train in basement. Tomorrow will be a rest day, unless I feel ambitious and maybe walk dog around neighborhood to look at Christmas lights.

    2020 Goals:
    1) Get weight below 160# (last time was 4/20/19) 10.31.20 159.0#

Just a quick note to wish you all a very happy and blessed holiday season! This has been a very hard and trying year for almost all of us with covid, quarantine, etc. But ... we all hung in there!

Our Christmas will be spent in our garage ... in 30 degree weather. While it is not ideal, it is something that hubby is comfortable with. I have 3 chairs out there, a couple rugs thrown down, a little christmas tree, and we will bring out a heater, and close the garage door halfway. But ... we will be together, and we are all safe and healthy yet.

My goals for the next few days are to just try and enjoy the holidays, don't over eat ... small portions... practice moderation (meaning don't eat 6 cinnamon rolls!), and count my many blessings.

Tell you what I'm so glad that I got all-but-one wash done today. Until Saskia decided it was a good idea to lean on the washing machine door and snap it off.. Again!(sorry @PackerFanInGB) Have you ever been so angry you can't even tell them off. It's Christmas, we had to suck it up and just attempt a fix, *touchwood* it works.

    However, on a positive note..

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, I hope you all manage to contact your loved ones to wish them well even though you can't see them in person.

And remember it's the one day of the year you can stuff your faaaaace! 😉 So enjoy, indulge and have a great day everyone!!

    Fitbit exercise goals 👿
Weigh 😊 Happy Scale weight trend ⬇️ 0.5 kg lost in the last 7 days.

Sending Christmas wishes to you all and thinking of those who have lost loved ones. 🐝

I’ve no idea what planet I was on when I wrote today’s goals. We have a tradition of pizza for dinner Christmas Eve and I made Sherry trifle in honour of my late mum - she always wanted to eat the trifle as soon as it was ready but my childhood Christmases were spent with my maternal grandmother who had a strict plan as to when things could be eaten and trifle was for supper on Christmas Day. I swear mum would have happily had it for breakfast Christmas Day given a chance so I thought we’d go one better by enjoying it Christmas Eve. 😊. This is my first Christmas without mum and I’m trying hard to celebrate the happy memories rather than be sad. Last year was hard as we knew it would be her last and this year Covid has disrupted family plans so it’s just my dad and my husband for our meal tomorrow.

Wishing you peace and happiness with your families

I think that's a lovely way to honor your mum and I'm sorry she's not with you this year. I miss my Nanas trifle, it was amazing, it was impossible to not go back for 2nds and even 3rds (if you could get away with it because the rest of the family was tucking into it too lol)
I personally don't like sherry or alcohol in desserts really, but she didn't add it because we were kids at the time but she didnt even add it when we were older lol.

Have a lovely Christmas with some lovely memories xx

The weather yesterday was wonderful and the family enjoyed a very pleasant walk. We exchange presents. We were able to have mince pies and mulled wine in the winter sunshine in the garden.

There was a beautiful sunrise, and I’m having my morning cuppa in bed and looking forward to our virtual Christmas Day dinner, and present opening.

DED has the children home. It was so good to see them face to face, albeit at a distance.

DYD is in her own, so will be coming round for Christmas dinner. We have a large dining room and living room so will be suitable distanced.

Planned pass day yesterday, so weight bounced up about 1 lb, so quite happy with that. I was in the green today, but ate back over half my exercise calories.

Hope everyone had a reasonable Christmas.

          JFT M 12/28 ~ back to logging & posting
          1) Move hourly / stairs breaks (3 floors)
          2) Prelog / net cals zero / 14c water
          3) Work in office: to-do list / AJNH / catch up w/ emails / submit leave request form for W
          4) Gas in car on way home / read Advent booklet (goes thru day of Epiphany) / water tree (a.m. & p.m.) / call mom & dad / prep derm pmt / write thank yous / new batteries in treadmill / one other chore?
          5) UNPLUG 9:00 / FLOSS / retainers / Voltaren / work alarm (how is sore muscle?)

Christmas mini-break was nice. Did not log food past four days, ate & drank whatever and however much I liked, and pants are now feeling tight. Time to return to "normal", log everything & eat appropriate portions. I baked a chocolate cake for Christmas dessert, since it's hubby's favorite (I love it too). It's a big cake for just the two of us, and I know we'll eat it until gone. But from now on I'll have smaller pieces and hubby will eat the rest, which he won't mind. Since he's so active at work, he'll burn it right off. Jealous, except I know he's tired and sore each night.

Exercise is on temporary hold due to small injury to a back muscle. Walked dog yesterday before snowstorm, and that was fine, but now to avoid slip & falls I will transition to the basement treadmill and hopefully more x-training (my home version of circuit & weights). Sad dog.

Realized this morning that I will have to update annual goals for 2021, and my Word of the Year. Have to start thinking about those.

          2020 Goals:
          1) Get weight below 160# (last time was 4/20/19) 10.31.20 159.0#
          2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
          3) Post weekly weigh-in on JFT for accountability

My middle brother & his wife stopped over briefly Sunday and brought us a large plate of decorated Christmas cookies. They are both excellent bakers. I think I'll put most of the cookies in the freezer for later.

@cschmitz110515 lovely plate of cookies, I like the Rudolph ones :)

After several days of erratic eating (ie, too much snacking) I've had enough of it. I don't enjoy this full feeling any more. So back to the fruit and veg! I even turned down the offer of a takeaway last night as I knew that my body just didn't need more food.

Christmas was a day of 2 halves. The morning was lovely with a very well behaved toddler sharing out presents and having fun. Spent the afternoon with my mum, where it was obvious just how much we all miss my dad. I didn't feel the meal was very Christmas-y, partly because it wasn't lunch but at 6pm to fit in with others, and partly because as there was just me and my son we didn't sit at the table, just had it on our knees. Lovely relaxed day though. I was glad that I wasn't given any sweets at all, so no excuses there.

Unfortunately I hurt my back again on Boxing Day (not doing anything silly!) so am still in quite a lot of pain and not able to go walking. Anyway, if I have to be stuck inside this is a good time for it, the weather this week is freezing and/or snowing and my holiday let is still closed due to Covid. I had planned to go to the holiday let this week to replace some furniture, but a rather sudden new lockdown put paid to that. I suspect that I'll be walking past a double bed to get to my back door for some months to come!

I'm starting to think about goals and aims for 2021, but haven't written anything down yet. Healthwise I think it will be the same as 2020, reduce weight so I'm not overweight if I catch Covid. The new variant which is easier to catch is in my area and it is worrying.

I haven't chosen a "word of the year" before, do those who do find it helps?

@littleblackskirt Sorry for your loss and struggles. (((hugs))) Sounds like a nice Christmas even if low-key. As for Word of the Year, 2020 was my first one and I picked Persist. Very ironic. I don't know if the word "helps" but sometimes when I notice mine during my daily post, it kicks my butt just when I need it.

Christmas wasn't very Christmas-y even though it snowed. It just isn't the same without the big family gathering. We delivered gifts and food to the family Christmas Eve and did short visits with them in small groups and masked up.

I know I mentioned that I had wrecked my car and fallen off a ladder before Christmas, well hubby hit a dear 2 days after Christmas (he and I are fine, deer is not). Sigh... and my dishwasher died... Funny thing is none of it really matters. We had to dish out unexpected cash for the dishwasher and the deductibles for both cars. Hubby got a back pay check and I get paid for my unused vacation this year, so it's not horrible financially. Just an annoyance really. We went to the autobody place yesterday as a couple. The guy there had a chuckle about that.

            JFT Goals
            - Work by 8:00
            - Go for a walk or ride the Peleton
            - Swing by the church to pick up Pictionary Game
            - Pick up receipt from SIL for return of a shirt
            - Do not over eat at dinner
            - No snacking after 9:00pm
            - Bed after the news.

Hope y'all had a great Christmas!

Trying to get back into better goal setting. The year is almost to an end .. and I think everyone will be happy for 2021. Its been a very hard year for so many. I've seen more people that I love pass away this year than ever .. and not from the virus. Its been a challenging Christmas with our daughter, and I just pray she hangs in there until the vacine comes out.
But all that does not mean to let my own health and well being slide, which I have been doing the past 2 months.
              so back on track ...

              JFT, Wed, Dec 30
              1. log all food

@mytime6630 Joan, I second what @Bex953172 said about taking care of yourself as well as all the others around you. (((hugs))) And I would love it if you started a thread for 2021. JFT really helps me, and I love all the JFT friends I have made. You all are my JFT Family! <3

We had about 3" snow fall overnight but I'm not shoveling. Hubby is up and out snowblowing then will shovel front steps & patio. Wish I could do it b/c that's a good workout and fresh air. Oh well, want recovery of my back muscle more. Improving slowly so that's good.

Yesterday I decided I will update my 2020 goals revised for 2021. I'm already participating in one (virtual) walking challenge that ends 1/15 and have registered for several that start on Jan. 1. Not as fun as race events, but happy to have something to participate in. I've been thinking of a word for the year, and maybe will choose Gratitude. So many times I think of things as I wish they were, or feel jealous of others, instead of being grateful for the many blessings that I have. Maybe my "word" will be a good reminder during the year.

              2020 Goals:
              1) Get weight below 160# (last time was 4/20/19) 10.31.20 159.0#
              2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
              3) Post weekly weigh-in on JFT for accountability
              4) Take measurements & log on MFP monthly (I stopped as weight plateaued & went up) = 2.1.20 / 2.29.20 / 4.1.20 (forgot 3.31.20) / 5.1.20 (forgot 4.30.20) / 6.3.20 (forgot at ME again) / 6.30.20 / 8.6.20 (forgot July 31 & crazy schedule) / 8.31.20 / 9.30.20 / forgot 10.31.20 measurements but happy w/ w-i 159.0 finally below 160
              5) Exercise 5-6x per week (minimum 4x) ~ mostly walking but include weights/circuit & other x-training
              6) Participate in race events ~ have planned 7 5Ks and 2 10Ks at minimum = Frenzy on the Fox 5K 49:36 ave. pace 15:29 on 1.10.20 / Seroogy's Valentine 5K 46:26.7 ave. pace 14:47 on 2.8.20 / Badger State Brewing 10K virtual race on 4.2.20 w/ dog 1:44:16 ave. pace 16:33 / Prevention virtual 5K Fun & Fit Team on 5.2.20 walked 3.48 mi w/ dog in 1:01:10 ave. pace 17:33 / RonaRunOff 5.16.20 virtual walk 5.08 miles with dog in 1:23:15 ave. pace 16:23 / 100 Miles Challenge fundraiser (per fitness tracker) & completed 5.18.20 / Bellin Run 10K virtual race on 6.6.20 w/ dog 1:41:03 ave. pace 16:14 dog definitely slows my "race pace" / Hope Isn't Canceled virtual 10K on 8.29.20 w/ dog 1:43:10 ave. pace 16:36 / Packers 5K virtual race 9.26.20 w/ dog 52:23 ave. pace 16:41 / Bellin Women's 5K virtual race 10.10.20 w/ dog 52:55 ave. pace 16:57 / virtual Run for the Hill of It 5K on 10.16.20 w/ dog 50:35 ave. pace 16:16 / home edition Turkey Trot 2 mile walk w/ dog 11.26.20 in 36:54 / Jingle Bell world record attempt for largest virtual 5K w/ stupid RunGo app = walked 3.86 mi 56:48(?) w/ dog 12.12.20 / 50 Mile Frenzy 11.27.20 - 1.15.21 (replaced Frenzy on the Fox for Jan. 2021) 50.37 miles 12.17.20

LMAO you mean my nine months of complaining 😂

Tbh I was worried that you weren't going to do a thread because you've had so much on your plate! But even though I don't really post goals as such anymore, I consider you all my friends and I'd hate to not have that!
I'm trying to get myself out of depression so I can start posting goals again. I lost 30lbs from stress and I want to continue and spin that into a positive by losing a bit more myself and toning up etc.

I guess interest has faded a bit but we've all been so trapped by covid and restrictions and lock downs it's just been rubbish. The whole year has been completely dog$h!t.

I will definitely join a new thread!
Can't wait! I hope all the regulars will join and we might even get some newbies :)
