@pridesabtch - I am so sorry youโre struggling right now. (Iโm also sorry that my โbraggyโ post came up right after yours. I mustโve been typing mine up when yours posted).
Youโve been at this a while, so I know this isnโt new information for you, but just make small changes. Tiny goals. Once you feel the accomplishments again youโll get back to where you were. The best thing you can do is just keep going.
I remember seeing your posts at the beginning of the year when I joined this thread. You were comparing notes about riding with @teigansdad and I was super impressed! If youโve been at this since 2002, then you know that this is just a small moment in time...a blip on the radar!
Donโt forget, your goals donโt have to be calorie or weight loss related. What if you started just with logging (donโt worry about staying green). Or make a goal to read the success stories pages. Or the NSVโs. Those always give me motivation.
Give yourself some grace. In our lifetime, there has never been a pandemic that has us all scared and looking for comfort wherever we can. You are not alone. ๐4 -
TODAY IS MY 40th BIRTHDAY!!
Happy Birthday! My original username on here was notfortyyet... I used this site to be in the best shape of my life at 40. I was filled with life and energy. Best of luck to you and congrats on reaching your goals. Now don't let it slip like I did, just keep doing the right things day by day.3 -
Hi,
Iโve been missing and Iโm also failing. Iโve lost my sense of direction and feel swamped looking after my mum. Iโve been away from my husband for 11 weeks with no prospect of being together in the near future. Today was my birthday so Iโve over indulged. I do want to make improvements tomorrow and Iโm planning to meet by usual goals. I need a kick and I need to stop feeling sorry for myself.
Well done to those of you who are posting your successes, thank you for the positivity and hugs for those who are also struggling.5 -

@TerriRichardson112 Tx. I hadn't considered nuts; I'll put them on my next grocery order. In addition to those items you mentioned, I also do Tortilla chips and salsa. 12 chips + salsa is about 100 cal. Sodium is a bit high so only do it on days I'm not heavy on Sodium.1

@cesse47 - thanks I just love this group, I started following it in April 2018 and posted daily until about a week before my daughters wedding last summer. This group has been with me through a 20lb loss and now a 20lb gain, through a job loss and search and so much more. I know itโs a big help and it works for me. I just need to get back on track. My Mom is in a nursing home in New Brunswick, I am in Alberta. Itโs been a relief that NB had so few cases and have managed this pandemic so well.
The residents at the home I work in are doing quite well. They donโt seem as stressed and upset as they do when their families visit regularly. Itโs surprising actually.
@pridesabtch - I am right there with you. We can do this we just have to get the fire under us. I donโt know when that will be lit.
@PackerFanInGB, @Bex953172 and @mytime6630 I hope you are all doing well.

I am so disappointed in myself but Iโm also not able to correct the bad habits that will help my weight gain.
I am finding this whole thing just difficult. Working in a seniors home, not seeing my girls and grandchildren. Rodger is not going to be working this summer. Just a lot going on and Iโm not doing as well with it as I want to be.
So Iโm here, Iโm reading and just donโt have much to contribute right now. I miss you all though.
Tracey, Please don't feel you have nothing to contribute when you are doing such an essential job. It small consolation, I know, but I really admire and appreciate all you key workers who are putting yourselves out there. It's little wonder you feel so stressed, and under pressure. Please lean on us, and unload if you need to. We have broad shoulders.
Dear friends,
We are all living through a worldwide pandemic the like of which we have never experienced. However, the indominatable human spirit has the capacity to rise to meet this challenge. Celebrate every little positive achievement in your daily life. Forgive yourself for any perceived shortcomings at this time, move past them and resolve to take the opportunity each new day brings to rise above them and start over.
We can do this! We will do this! We ARE doing this!!!2 -
@TerriRichardson112 - thanks for your support.
One thing I have decided on is this. As I was losing weight and fit into smaller clothes I got rid of my clothes. I purposely did that so that I had nothing to go back to. My clothes are all pretty tight now and it is a constant reminder to me that I need to do something. I canโt afford new clothes and even if I could I refuse to buy them. I know that it will take me a bit to get back to a comfortable fit but thatโs just the price Iโm going to have to pay. So Iโm going to attempt to walk at least 5km before Saturday and take a lunch the rest of the week.

Sorry for the morose post yesterday. I am a little beside myself with uncertainty right now. My mental state is very much influences by my physical state and my activity level. I know this, but have not been able to break through the depression to take action. Yesterday I contacted my old coach who works with both my mental and physical wellness. He knows me, my hang ups and my abilities, and I trust him. We are making a plan to get me moving again. I'm hoping having a schedule and a person to push me (who isn't my husband) will help me over this crazy hump. I want to feel proud of myself again.
JFT Wednesday (easy goals)
- Try to go back to bed, I've been up since 3:30 am
- Healthy breakfast, eggs
- Work from home
- Virtual meeting with trainer/coach to make a plan
- Go for a walk at lunch, it is supposed to be a lovely day
- Do what coach says even if I don't want to
- Log, but don't fret. Need to reestablish the habit

@ZizzyBumble - Happy birthday! I hope you enjoyed your day yesterday! ๐
@pridesabtch - Awesome! Way to take action! Never apologize for a morose post. You only said how you were feeling and Iโm sure many could relate to it. And itโs awesome to see how much support immediately came in from this group. ๐

Well I took my lunch today and my boss showed up and bought lunch for everyone. I actually declined and still ate my lunch from home. I was quite proud of myself, then I messed it all up and had McDonalds for supper because hubby had missed my text asking him to take something out.
I was planning on a walk tonight but we ended up going working on calculating how much wood we needed for a new deck and we did spent most of the evening doing that.
I havenโt entered my meals yet today but should at least be in maintenance.
Iโll be back again tomorrow. I missed you too @cschmitz110515. I saw your note about the precancerous cells. My cousin just last week got diagnosed with skin cancer. It is on her nose and she is waiting for a surgery date now.

@Snowflake1968 @pridesabtch Boy your posts from a few days ago read so familiar! Iโve been struggling too with motivation for about a week, and just going from working to couch TV. So glad that both of you have seemed to get a little more mojo back nowโI know posting here helps!
I didnโt even post goals for the last 2 days and have pretty much been on a good free for all for 4 days. Tonight I took the time to write extensively in my journal and read previous entries on my WHY. And force myself to express the internal whys (I want to keep up with my family on our adventures, to feel strong, to respect my self-efficacy) vs the external whys (to impress people with my loss, to not be embarrassed when I get sick and people assume itโs just from extra weight). Iโm hoping rewriting these โwhyโ statements over and over the next few days will help keep me focused on the minimum habits to hang on until a second wind of motivation kicks in (or at least work slows down enough I stop feeling overwhelmed). ๐ค
While I was very in the red for calories and poor for nutrition, I did do my minimum daily habits today (Wednesday)โtrack, exercise, journal. So yay for that!
Daily habits: track, exercise, journal
Thursday Action Plan
1. Up at 7, pill, weigh, pets

@cschmitz110515 well done for hitting those goals yesterday. Lots of steps too.

Plan meals for the next week
Stay within calorie target
Track everything6 -
I have planned what I am going to eat today and it is exactly on target calorie-wise and pretty much hits all my goal percentages. I am going to stick to it!
I might change the timings, but Iโm determined to follow the plan.
Iโm going to do some cooking tomorrow morning before work and Iโm going to log those meals accurately (and put more thought into it this time so my home cooked ready meals have fewer calories than the one Iโm eating today).6 -
Order bike partsโ
Stay greenโ
Finish painting ..god I HATE painting. I think if I were given a choice between this and repeating colonoscopy prep Iโd choose the prep.โ
Vacuum carโ
First mountain bike race tonight.. hoping the 30 lbs Iโve dropped should help me get to the top step on podiumโ ๐ฅI won!
Yesterday was excellent. Won my first race in a long time. It was awesome. After the 30 lb weight loss Iโve been itching to see what I could do. Up until now Iโve been doing most of my time on the trainer. It showed on the technical sections of the trail but man my power and endurance were off the charts. I felt like I was taking a new sports car for a spin. I owe that to MFP And this forum writing goals every day has kept me focused and honest with myself.
Goals for today ... back to work after several very productive days at home
Pick up paint for daughter on way home. Also pick up cover for fire pit
Stay green
No beer
Smart snacking choices, m&ms ok if stay green
1 hr tempo ride
Look at race bike. Change rear derailleur hanger. Think I bent it when a stick got lodged in it during race4 -

JFT Goals for Thursday, May 14, 2020
Log everything; Be mindful of everything I eat - try for lower carb choices; drink 8+ water
Do 30 min Chair Yoga
Do stretching video in full
Declutter & Organize bedroom closet -- 15 min. == NEED TO START
Work 15 min on Dining Room ceiling light -- blades in progress
Dining Room -- declutter, sweep floor, vacuum, mop floor -- work in 15 min chunks - still decluttering
The Plan: Do stretches. work in Dining Room. Do yoga. work in Dining Room. Do meal prep for lunch & dinner; do dishes. Do 5 min walking program. work in Dining Room. Play on computer for a bit ... do 15 minute chore (DR - ceiling fan/light) (bedroom closet) ... repeat.
Had a small gain after my indulgent weekend. Thought I'd have it off by today but NOPE ... still hanging on!! So, need to make very careful food choices, exercise a bit more, and drink a lot more water so I will, hopefully, kick it before my weigh-in on Saturday.
Hope Y'all have a great day! ๐5
