Congratulations! I started at 372 & I'm now at 308, so you can imagine how much I admire you. Did you start exercising when you got serious about losing weight or did you wait to begin exercising? My hips are bad so I just started back walking today. Baby steps, but consistent is how I've lost the weight I have so far. Your success is an inspiration to me!

Thank you. Congrats on your weight loss.

You and I are in the same boat so to speak. I started at 328, currently 251, and hoping to land around 210. It is inspirational to see it really can be done... :)

Thanks and congrats on your progress.

Keep up the good work! I have found that you will gain endurance with walking and eventually you will be amazed with yourself. If you have a walking app use it! [/q

Hey, Chi. I started in 2010. At the time, I'd left the newspaper business and moved in with my father, who was 66 (he passed away last year). Dad was always in good shape, and his only requirement was that I start working out again. So we walked on the dirt roads he lived by, then added in a little jogging. We also played basketball every day and lifted weights two or three times a week.

Once I moved out later in the year, I lifted, then the next year I really got into running and did that mostly for five years (1,500 miles a year). I lifted weights some, but not a ton. I got Epstein-Barr Virus in 2016 and essentially had to take 18 months off from working out. When I resumed at the end of 2017, I stopped running and focused more on weights.

As of 2020, I lift three days a week and get on the stair climber or elliptical three days a week. I run sparingly, as it makes my back sore and can causes extreme fatigue.
