Curious to know what are some products you tried after hearing rave reviews, but were ultimately disappointed in?

For me it is the Birch Bender's Magic Syrup and Kite Hill yogurt.

I tried a Buff Bakes combo pack, due to the "new products" thread, way back. Everything was disgusting!1

Nutella. Every says how delicious it is, so I finally tried it. It was beyond awful. I threw the rest of the container into the trash.13

ooo yes! Not a fan of Buff Bake products either.3 -
Quest bars! Sooooo fake tasting!12

Anything Quest, Halo Top, Kodiak teddy grahams, sweet potatoes4

Halo Top. Not terrible, but not remotely satisfying. Tried multiple flavors, all not worth even their meager calories. Threw out the last, would not retry.
Not so much rave reviews, but high hopes: Quest protein chips. Tasted like salty sawdust. Ate one, maybe 2, threw the rest out. Horrid.
And, on an ongoing basis: I totally don't see why anyone likes Oreos. They taste like denatured dollar store toothpaste spread between layers of brown fiberboard. Ugh. Most so-called hyperpalatable foods are not my thing, but usually I can understand what someone else might see in them. Not Oreos. I mean, if you like 'em, eat 'em; you can have them all. But I just don't get it.8 -
Lo Dough....you might as well put polystyrene in the oven with your pizza toppings on.1

Halo Top, yuck! Walden Farms, don't know how people can eat that stuff. My favorite salad dressing is poppyseed and Skinny Girl's is often recommended, it's super sweet and I love sweet but not that much! The best I've found of a lightened one is Panera though I bought stuff to make my own. Fiber One brownies are another thing that are recommended often. They're not horrible but not worth the calories.3

I tried a delicious but outrageously expensive granola bought at the shop attached to Yotam Ottolenghi's restaurant.
https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/search/products/?q=tobias
Then I found the recipe online because a food blogger typed it in from one of his cookbooks.

Putting it in the recipe builder I discovered a 50 gram serving of dry granola was 460 kcal.3 -

Kombucha... yuck.
Halo top. I think it's okay, but didn't think it was as good as I was expecting with how popular it is.
This is a great idea for a topic. I am sure there are so many things I will remember but thats all I can think of now, lol.6 -
Halo Top for sure. I tried some years ago and was very underwhelmed. Then I tried another flavor and it was the same.
I'd rather have less of my favorite ice cream/frozen yogurt and actually enjoy it or just make my own ice cream rather then a whole lot of that.
A lot of the protein bars aren't great to me. Many were either too chalky or artificial tasting, had questionable ingredients, too many calories/carbs/sugar or it just taste like a candy bar. So I make my own.6 -
halo top and the other low calorie ice creams - if i want it, i'm going for haggan daaz or similar - i might get a small serving but it will be good
cauliflower pizza crust - why just why
kodiak cakes - i don't hate hate them, but i prefer the birch bark protein pancakes better - the kodiak ones always seem to need some sugar or something to make them taste better2 -

were you disappointed solely for the calories? unfortunately, in general i find granola to be a huge calorie suck - and you don't get a lot of granola for its calories3 -
I will agree with the Halo Top sentiment -- it's just not that good. Especially after indulging in other ice creams (yes, more calories, but still better: So Delicious and Nada Moo), I just don't think I can go back to HT. There are a few exceptions--their seasonal flavors are the best in the line, and I do enjoy their Peanut Butter Cup--but I think I'd rather just take the calorie hit and get some better tasting ice cream. As far as 'light' ice creams go...I'll take Enlightened and Skinny Cow products any day!6

Anything zero calorie.
Salad dressings, syrups, coffee syrups, etc. Yuck.
I've tried so many brands and finally gave up because they all have that nasty, chemical, artificial taste to them.
Also, this ice cream. Judging by the picture, you'd assume it has a lot of oreo pieces in it, right? WRONG. I think in the entire half gallon, there was maybe three pieces total. And I wish that were an exaggeration.

Breyers is the worst. A couple of years ago my son and I did our own 'Cookie Dough Ice Cream Taste Test', and out of the 15 or so we sampled, Breyers was in the subbasement. So bad.
ETA: I actually found my 'review' that was sent nowhere, except my husband. Heh. Seriously, folks. Do NOT buy this ice cream.
"Breyers Chocolate Cookie Dough. Um, what did I do to deserve this? It’s gross. I guess the descriptor of ‘frozen dairy dessert’ should have tipped me off, but this was terrible. The vanilla base tasted like chemicals and the cookie dough pieces tasted like nothing at all. If this brand doesn’t remain in the subbasement of our official rankings, I’ll be totally surprised. #fail"6 -
To remember, we always say "Breyer's is bad, Dreyer's is damn good." The names are too close to remember!4

Another one that comes to mind is Smashmallow. Flavored marshmallows are overrated.

Also, Angie's Boom Chicka Pop

Paleo meat bars. All of them. Yuck, I need a bucket.

Yes! Angies and pretty much bagged popcorn in general.
Also a LOT of these protein cereals. I had high hopes, but none were that great.

another one for me... the flavors all sound great but are bland and lose flavor so fast!8 -
One more hiding under that paleolithic rock. It tasted sour and quite frankly, rancid. It wasn't outdated. The flavor lingered on and not in a good way.

Oreos: just artificial flavours and sugar.
Low calorie icecream: just artificial sweetener, and lots of air. You take a spoon full in your mouth, and you're left with a few watery ice flakes and a yucky taste.

I didn't really care for the one Smashburger I tried.

The only Walden Farms stuff I like is their Pancake Syrup which I am completely obsessed with. I think it is so good!!! The rest of their stuff that I've tried is disgusting though.
I also love Skinny Girl Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing! It has a lot of sodium though so even at super low calorie I try to limit it.
