There are a few rules for posting. One is: if you make a claim and someone asks where you got your information, then you should produce it. It is on you to produce, not send everyone on a wild goose chase all over the internet. Otherwise we're all going on hearsay. If you make a claim and it's just your opinion, or "EVERYBODY knows this is true" then you say that's where you're coming from. It makes our discussions on here clearer and a little more polite. Hope you aren't offended by these rules.9 -

Out of curiosity, I just did a PubMed search for ghee and fat mobilization (the poster's claim). Nada. Nothing mentioning fat mobilization.12

There is no proof. Just belief from the person who is pushing it. If there was proof, they should be more then willing to provide it. Playing the "well just look for it" game just means it's not there.6 -

I have read a lot about ghee and there are 2 areas where it has an advantage: 1) because it is cow's milk fat with all of the milk solids removed people who are lactose intolerant can eat it where they cannot eat regular butter and 2) again, because the milk solids are removed it has a very long shelf life and does not have to be refrigerated.
As for health benefits beyond for those who are lactose intolerant, there are none. Yes, It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years but when put to the test by scientists all of the claims were proven false.9 -

A good rule of thumb to abide by is that you can't lose weight by *adding* something. You can only lose weight by subtracting, and mainly subtracting calories. People are obsessed with the idea of ACV, Acai berry, raspberry ketones, green tea and whatever the hell else because the idea that you can lose weight by adding something is incredibly seductive. Subtracting things is really, really hard. People who are not serious about dieting and not ready to truly commit will troll around on Pinterest and Facebook crowing out ACV and other snake oil supplements.
I'm glad you're skeptical of it and decided to ask rather than just believe what you saw from these people. You sound like you're really putting in the work and doing good. Keep it up!9 -

For the imperialists among us, 0.09kg is about 0.1968416 pounds, or 3.174656 oz., 0.08kg is about 0.17637 pounds, or 2.82192 oz. Wheee!
Let's see if I can do the math right (I usually can't. 🤣)
Picking a random common example of a CLA supplement (GNC), it has a 2-softgel dose of 2000mg CLA, and has 25 calories per dose, i.e. 12.5 calories per gram of CLA. So, over the week, you take 7 x 3.2g, a total of 22.4g, and by doing so consume about 280 calories. You lose about 694 (extra?) calories of fat from consuming the CLA (plus or minus 617 calories worth of fat, which is an interesting degree of variability).
90 softgels (2 is a dose, so it's 1mg/gel and 12.5 calories/gel) costs $29.99 US for that size bottle. At 3.2g/day, it'll last about 28 days, not that you can take partial softgels, but I'm not going to bother chasing down the proper dose, finding the cheapest version, or seeing if there's a CLA supplement with fewer calories. Who the heck cares?
Though I'm not a fan of the site in general, I agree with Healthline's summary of this study:In animals, CLA has been shown to burn fat and decrease its formation, leading to significant weight loss. However, in humans, its effect on weight loss is small and holds no real-world benefit.

That's the trouble with this stuff, generally: Sometimes there's a there, there . . . but at best it's a tiny, pathetic thing. Why bother? Take a nice walk or something instead, for far more benefit.
But ghee is nice, so if you want eat ghee with hope in your heart for extra fat loss, hey, who am I to criticize?
