Random person vs MFP...
Random Person: How many biceps curls should I do in a week?
MFP: That depends on your goals, body type, and how your body responds to curls.
Random Person: Great! I think I’ll do 60 reps. I like curls and I seem to respond well to that many curls per week.
MFP: You really shouldn’t try to create you own program. You may only get 96% of the benefits of weightlifting. Here is a link to a bunch of proven programs.
Random Person: Thanks! One of the 48 programs says to do 30 curls. Should I do 30?
MFP: If you are unsure you should get a trainer.
Random Person: I got a trainer. He said I should do 45 curls a week.
MFP: 45? Wow! You should get a new trainer. That guy doesn’t know what he is talking about.
Random Person: So how many biceps curls should I do in a week?
MFP: That depends on your goals, body type, and how your body responds to curls...

In the other forums theyre all professional bodybuilders, powerlifters, and dietitian.
I know 😂. I remember when I finally decided this place was kinder and gentler than the fitness forum. Such a paradigm shift.
I still like success stories, especially NSVs. Those people seem a little more real.1 -
