I was planning to venture out today to get a travel size of hand sanitizer (or 2, I like to lose things) to carry while at work, lysol for my car, and more bleach for the house in preparation of this. I didn't think of the baggie of wipes which I might borrow (:5 -

05/16 …..204.3….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
05/17 …..204.3 ….. I worked hard yesterday with the continuation of the barn cleaning project. Tedious along with some heavy lifting but not as much walking or steps, lots of standing in place sorting. I was hoping for even a smidgen of a drop on the scale, but patience usually pays off. Today I will plan my meals carefully. I’ve got to stay focused.
05/18 …..204.2 ….. Like Molasses but at least it is s..l..o..w..l..y dripping in the right direction. Today I have a lot on my agenda on this cold and rainy day. Flood warnings here. At least the newly planted flowers are happy! Today my dinner will be what I prep cooked yesterday. My meals will go well and I will stay busy. I will continue to dread the nighttime urge to binge when I get in bed in front of the TV. That has been going well so lets hope my strength continues. I want to see some greater progress on that scale! Everyone is doing so well! Let’s keep it up!
05/19 …..204.6 ….. Technically if only CICO mattered, I would have lost weight. I was under calorie goal by about 1000 (when factoring in my exercise). I had lots of movement and burn. My carbs were just over 100 including lots of healthy veggies. My water was a little improved. I slept in the 3 hour range (usually I am somewhere in the 4 hour range) but I woke up untired and refreshed. However, I do long for a 6 hour sleep night which I only get 2 or 3 times per year. I have a lot of hard work on my agenda. Spring cleaning a cabin from ceiling to floor. An un-glorified job for which I am not getting paid due to the restrictions on travel at this time. However, that makes it a good time to start all the deeper cleaning. I plan on keeping my diet on point and sticking to the healthy stuff today. I just gotta watch those carbs too!
05/20 …..204.3 ….. A bit of the bloat dropped off the scale so I am happy today. Also, perfect weather here. What a gorgeous day! I have lots of very hard work to do again today but I am up for the task. I am feeling so good right now-inspired by so much of what I am reading on this challenge and I am picturing that little chipmunk at @SheilaBoneham ‘s house after seeing the rabbit yesterday. What a beautiful day we have been gifted with. I hope everyone will enjoy all their blessings wherever they are!

05/17 120.6 Today was good, we did some yard work and ate well. Although, I definitely didn’t feel completely satisfied with my food, so I definitely want to work on that tomorrow. It tasted decent but I didn’t feel super full from it. I had lentils, beets, and a cheese plate type thing for breakfast/lunch. It was a strange combination of foods but it tasted good. Then for dinner I had a bean based pasta along with spaghetti squash, meatballs, and sauce with a sprinkle of romano cheese on top. It just kind of fell flat leaving me wanting more of something. I’m hoping tomorrow will be better in that regard!
05/18 119.4 I’m starting to wonder if my scale is right because I’ve had some really good drops over the past few days. I see the difference in my belly area, but it just seems crazy because I haven’t seen that number in years. I hope I can keep it off! This morning I went for a 6 mile walk and then did some push-ups and lunges in our yard. I’m hoping to get some jump roping in later today for some cardio because the walking doesn’t raise my heart rate that much. Not sure what’s on the agenda today for food but I’m thinking about some sort of toast and peanut butter for my first meal. I hope everyone had a good weekend!
05/19 121.0 I’m pretty sure my scale got moved in the bathroom and it’s on a level surface finally. I’m now at a weight that makes more sense because that was a big drop over the course of three days for me. I’m cool with it because I have been making really good decisions food and activity wise. I took a 6 mile walk this morning and have plans to jump rope again today. I love the cardio workout I get from jump roping and it’s safer/easier than running around the neighborhood with the whole mask situation. Plus, I get to brush up on my jump roping skills. I also ordered a weighted rope to turn up the workout a notch. That arrives at the end of the week and I’m very excited for it!
It sounds really weird but I’m so excited for my breakfast/lunch today because I have been craving cottage cheese for some reason and we were finally able to get some last night in a food delivery. So, I’m looking forward to the cottage cheese topped with pineapple and frozen wild blueberries. Tonight we are having American Chop Suey left overs and I’m pumped I have a night where I’m not creating dishes to clean after dinner.
One last ramble… My husband just went to get a contactless pick up order from Total Wine, so we will have some beverages to enjoy this weekend. I don’t think I’ve had anything to drink since March, so this will be fun. 😊
05/20 121.0 Went for another awesome walk this morning. My husband joined me for 3ish miles of it and then I continued another 3 miles on my own. Skipping the jump rope today to give my body a break. I might work in some push ups in a bit though. Food was good yesterday and so far so go today. I plan on making a turkey breast in the pressure cooker tonight for dinner. On our walk, we walked by turkeys which made my husband crave turkey. LOL! Luckily I happen to have turkey in the freezer and we have some potatoes, carrot and parsnips to use too! So, it’ll be perfect! I even have a rogue box of turkey gravy to add to the pot for added flavor. Have a good day everyone! Also a sidenote: super excited for the gorgeous weather coming to Massachusetts soon!

Starting weight Day 7 Round 111 - 66.3kg
Ending weight Round 113– 63.4kg
Goal weight for the end of this round - 62.9kg
Day/Weight/Comment
05/17 - 63.4kg, no change from the last 2 days; it's expected that things would slow down a bit at this point.
05/18 - 63.1kg, nice to see this drop, it's getting harder to keep up with the 16,000 steps a day
05/19 - 62.9kg, already to goal, so I'm expecting a holding pattern here for a few days.
05/20 - 63.0kg, a small bounce which is very appropriate at this stage, still early in this round and I'm on track.
05/21 - 62.7kg, great! Yesterday was a fluke which happens now and then. Sticking to the plan which works :-)

@kblanc14 I know it's too late for tonight's dinner, but here's the best turkey breast recipe.. The turkey comes out so moist and it's all about the gravy - so good! If the link doesn't work, you can search Youtube for How to Make Turkey Breast en Cocotte - America's Test Kitchen.

That's funny re your husband wanting turkey after seeing wild turkeys. We have wild turkey come thru our land all the time and as many as 14 under our bird feeder at one time. I have to say I've never thought "let's have turkey tonight" when seeing them. I pretend all the creatures that come thru are my pets, except the bear that kept knocking down and breaking our bird feeder until we realized we needed to take it down April thru October.
I'm about 1.5 hours from Mass in southern Maine. We are going to have amazing weather too. Unbelievably warm. They've opened some beaches to residents but I'm not quite ready to head out unless really early (maybe see the sunrise) before others get there since I have a feeling there won't be a lot of social distancing going on or masks. I'll ride by one day to see, hopefully I'm wrong.5 -

@CamandJarvis I am so sorry you're going thru this when just a few months ago you were so excited about your new state and new job. This virus is difficult in normal circumstances and you have a lot of added stress to say the least. It's just terrible that you can't continue to work remotely. I hope everything goes okay over the next weeks/months - I'm sure they will as it seems you and your BF are being extra cautious for the kids and also for yourselves. Keep us posted on how you are doing.5 -

@fmfdfa2020 I’ll have to save that link, thanks! It was kind of odd/funny he wanted that for dinner after seeing them, but I rolled with it because I didn’t have to think about what to cook for tonight. It came out pretty good because I picked some herbs from the yard to add some extra flavor to it. Then, I made a gravy with the turkey juice & broth/gravy mixture left over in the pan.
I hope you get to enjoy the weather up there too! I grew up going to the Portland and Denmark area because someone who is like a step mom to me lives up there. It’s so nice there!

Jumping in here because I’m at my highest weight in a long time and need some accountability. I feel so much better when I’m treating my body better. Maybe this will help. Female, 23yo, 5’6. My goal weight for the end of this round since I started late is just for me to be down to 183. The only other goal I have this round is to weigh in every day.

Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
- May: focus on maintaining and increasing my progress
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Never give up! Never give in!
Back Story:2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅2020
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
