How often do yall track?

Currently im 8 months in tracking everyday ... I weigh my food mostly and make recipes using the recipe thing. I had a bout with binge eating so i found this out tracked macros and havent had a true " i cant have this food " feeling yet (iifym/calories) . i like tracking but i just want to get a feel .. How much do yall track everyday

I log all my food every day.
I lost 80ish pounds and have kept it off using food logging. I have to continue to log, when I don't log my food I start eating too much. Some people never log food. So you'll have to find what works for you.8 -
I am currently maintaining/recomping. I haven't tracked my food intake in about 5 years. I have gained (on purpose), maintained and lost weight during that time.0

I log what I eat every day! Currently I have a streak of 138 days. Even now with my gym being closed I am logging even though I am not losing weight. I guess it is partly because I am not exercising. But I know if I did not log my food I would be going up. I have used MFP for years. Once upon a time I weighed 250 lbs. I lost 75 lbs but have still gone up and down some. Logging keeps me maintaining and losing if I exercise.

I'm almost up to 5 years of tracking the overwhelming majority of days. I tracked daily in detail while losing weight, weighing foods whenever I could (like at home), estimating when necessary (like restaurant meals or eating at other people's houses).
Now, after being in maintenance a long time, staying at a healthy weight, I skip tracking some meals or days if they're very complicated/imprecise to log (like maybe dinner at an Indian restaurant buffet, say; or a potluck), or if I'm especially busy/distracted on a random day, but still log accurately and in detail the majority of days. It's just an easy habit, these days.
After around 30 years of obesity, that 10 minutes or so daily I spend logging, to keep calories and nutrition where I want them, and stay at a healthy weight for 4+ years . . . that may be the most profitable 10 minutes of my day - huge payoff.15 -
I track every meal every day, as well as all calorie burning activity.0

I track my food one or two days a year to help plan my fuelling and nutrition for very long cycle rides.
Tracking food isn't necessary for me to control/manipulate my weight so of little benefit to me.
I track my exercise to give me an idea of my very variable calorie allowance.0 -
I plan/track my calorie count and exercise daily. Holidays and vacations included.
It doesn't take long and tracking allows me to maintain my weight nicely (80+ pound loss for 7 years with no regain) while eating everything I want!8 -

I log my food everyday(no matter what i eat) and any activity I do that burns a significant amount of calories.(no diet plan and daily exercise). Been tracking since February(19.6 lbs down)2 -

I track every day but my logging is quite loose ( guestimations, averages etc) and I don't track at all on vacations.1 -
I'm like paperpudding: I log food and exercise, but don't weigh my food and don't track when travelling. After a lifetime of yoyo dieting/weigh gain, I've learned that I can't just assume I know how to eat. Every single time I've lost weight in the past, when I stopped paying close attention I started gaining again. Occasional treats become regular treats become daily excesses. Logging keeps me honest. It has worked well for the past 6-7 years.6

I've tried all sorts of "half way" logging food or weighing myself and was never successful. This time I weigh/measure EVERYTHING, EVERYDAY that I eat and weigh myself EVERY morning. Bam! I'm down 66 lbs and I've been successful for over a year. I suspect I'll continue doing it for a long time.6

Weighing & Tracking all food daily for the past 970 days...did quite a few months here or there prior, but mot with a food scale.
I want to maintain my 71lb loss. Tracking helps me do that, as I don’t get clear hunger signals & I was obese for 40 years, and the tracking helps me from Falling back to those old ways of eating.4 -
I reached my goal weight in November 2019. I'm getting sick of logging at this point, but I know I have to continue to do it.
Out of sight, out of mind. If I stop logging, I'll start the habits that made me obese. Logging every day and weighing myself at least every few days are my two tools for self-control. I do NOT want to become obese again.3 -
I track every morsel 99% of the time. I have done so for 7 years.8

When I'm good and on track, I'm logging everything, everyday. When I stop logging, my portions get out of control.4

But besides the calories, I like watching my fruits and veggies so I don't skip veggies to keep my calories down and eat something not so good for me. That said, I'm loose with weighing/measuring every bite. At this point, I do a lot of estimating.2

YES! Fruits/Veg (and that reduces saturated fat for me) is one of the main reasons I am tracking daily. I also love looking at the trends in my data.

Tracking daily now. I will go for a few months at a time not tracking or loosely tracking (ie, track breakfast and lunch, guesstimate dinner), which usually results in a small gain over time. When I hit the top of my maintenance range, or, occasionally, my “oh *bleep*” number, I start fully tracking again until I’m down the 3-7lbs. And track for a while, then start again. The freedom of not always tracking every day means I will gain a few pounds, which is a trade off I’m willing to live with. Until I’m not.2

Everyday for 4 yrs on this run. 1 yr hiatus during wc I of course gained wt and 3 yrs b4 that wc accounts 4 my 8 yrs on MFP.
Some ppl say that they can lose/maintain their wt w/o logging everyday but most ppl can't do that. I'm in the latter category and have no problem w/it.
I do not consider daily logging and weigh-ins a burden but an action necessary to maintain my wt and health wc is of great importance and benefit to me.
That said, I don't obsess about the precision of the numbers. I don't always weigh & measure everything and I'll use generic entries for the cal count.
On the other hand, I try to over estimated the cals of the food logged and under estimate the cals logged for exercise. So, it all balances out in rhe end.
I lost 40# and have maintained that loss over the past 4 yrs doing this . So, it works for me3 -
Except for breakfast (part of my meals), I haven't weighted or tracked lunch, snacks or dinners since the middle of February.
I broke my wrist in February so cooking was not easy to do, and it gave me an excellent reason for not to tracking/logging. I am better now, but I like the freedom of not having to weight and log everything that I put in my mouth. With the pain and the anxiety of 10 weeks in a cast and a brace, plus the sheltering in place, I lost my appetite and five lbs (not by choice). Since I have been in maintenance for 10 years I may skip the tracking a logging for a long time.1 -
I used to track daily. Need to start again. I don’t want to be a slave to it, but it is a valuable tool.2

I log every day except when on holiday.
I did it while losing 13kg and have continued to do so for the last 3yr in maintenance.
It help me stop portion creep, that my end of day deficit isn’t too big on v active days and it helps me ensure I get a decent macro balance.1 -
I weigh in every morning, track after every meal. 5 years ago I lost 90 lbs and stopped tracking....and gained 50 back. I've GOT to track, period.4

To be successful, I must weigh every morning and track all meals and exercise. I'm a visual person and I need to see it. With my body, I don't get daily swings in weight unless it's legit. So, if I weigh in heavier in the morning it's always because I've done something a little naughty the day before. I need to see how much it's affecting my weight.
As for logging food, I've used MFP for 7 years. I started about 2 weeks after giving birth of my 4th child when I weighed in at 183. It helped me get the baby weight off, and then some. My low was ~143 lbs., but my "happy weight" where I try to stay is 150. When I weigh 150 it looks more like 140, BUT when I weigh 160 it looks more like 170. So, I have to be careful to keep it at that 150 mark. I got up to 160 recently so I had to hop back on the tracking wagon. I am currently at 157. I do awesome as long as I track. If I don't track it, I don't lose it. I need to just keep it in my routine after I get back to 150, but I do tend to get lax on the tracking at that point, and then the cycle starts over5 -
I've logged every day since 1.1.14. Lost about 90lbs and have successfully maintained this loss for over 5 years. Weigh most food whenever possible which is probably 95% of the time. Can't see a time when I won't log but I always say, never say never!6

I primarily track daily with an occasional off day....knowing what works and sticking with it...and it sticks with me.2

In maintenance 7 years and haven't tracked much at all in the last 5 years. Now and again I will track if I see a little weight creep happening or if I want to track my macros but I'm able to maintain my weight in general without tracking.3

Just starting out...so I find myself tracking everyday except the weekends. Don't know why that is, but I will do better.2
