This is why I live east where the desert starts. A few days is all I could ever take on the coast. I inherited the bone acing from my mom. It was once called rheumatism but that term has vanished it seems. I have never understood how anyone could live in Coos Bay or Astoria. They must love the damp gloom and sound of foghorns.
I was once going to move to Yachats. For those that don't know it is pronounced, YAH hots. I was thinking getting a little cottage near the water and walking barefoot in the sandy beach, wearing a light hippie skirt, no panties, and braless under a wrap halter top, bush my hair up as it loves to curl and kink and wave on the coast, put an azalea in my hair, and sing Kumbaya while painting a seascape on the beach while every passing guy exclaimed, "ya hots baby." Then I realized my bottle of Nehalem Bay Rose Cabernet was empty and the only way to fill it was with teardrops as my bank account was suffering the same sad state of affairs as my wine bottle.

Pronounced NOT hot
We lived in Hammond, by Warrenton, and in the middle of Astoria , and Seaside distance wise. I loved hearing the fog horns, especially when its New Years and lots of ships horns sound. We did have hot days. I would take every quilt I owned and used clothes pins to anchor them over our patios railing. Then I would lay out sans clothes. It was heaven! No one could see me.

Mentally I can deal with damp and cool and overcast, but physically I ache bad and would spend most of my time in hot tubs.2 -

Kymarai- if you like something refreshing try glaciau vitamin zero water.. Faith has tbe lemonade one and it has electrolytes to help with leg cramps2

I'm kind of the opposite. I start something FIRST, and then wonder what the heck I was thinking! Then I make bad noises --#&#%$*-- and then I go back to getting it done. Case in point: below is Levi's half-finished afghan for Christmas, which I began in late July... probably finished by the end of next week--you can see I've turned the corner at the bottom of the "L" for Levi. Then I have to do two more for the other grands, so MIGHT be finished in late October, early November.

Don't you love it when you get past one of your "I don't/won't/can't/never" items?
I never work out in the afternoons--possibly habit from decades of 2 o'clock slump from desk work, I don't know. I've just always said, "I don't work out in the afternoon, I only work out in the early morning."
This morning, Corey left for work, I sat down in the recliner and went to sleep for more than two hours - don't know why, was more tired than I thought, maybe. Got up, paddled around getting the house put to rights, got a few things ready for dinner. (Panzanella salad for Corey without the bread, boiled potatoes to use for tacos for dinner.)
Then I made myself some lunch... and at 2 p.m., went and got on the elliptical and did my usual workout.
Pleased with that - means the exercise habit is significantly stronger than the "I don't" habits. Sixty years old, still finding I can exceed my self-imposed limitations. What a concept.
Later y'all,
Love,

Faye – what I do if the store offers those wipes is I take one and usually wipe down the cart handle even IF the worker has done it. Then, I keep the wipe and if I need to open a plastic bag, I just wipe my hands on this wipe and that makes my fingers wet enough to be able to open the bag. Remember when we used to lick our fingers? I also wipe my hands on this after getting something. Now when I go food shopping, I’ve just gotten into the habit of always using hand sanitizer after I put away the groceries. I know it's supposed to be better if you wash your hands, but for some reason I just got into the habit of using the sanitizer. Well, that’s not bad, just that washing is better, but at least it’s something
Rebecca – I remember that tree! It’s so cool to recognize so many people
Pip – poor Yogi! It’s a dog’s life. My heart just breaks for all he has to do < >
This lady has a towel for me that I’m going to make a crochet topper for for a lady at the soup kitchen so I’ll probably go pick it up so that I can make it tonight. I go there tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@csofled Cheri,
I think someone asked you about your Project Linus blankets, and that's where I heard about it! I'm getting it grooved on the grandkids' afghans, and then I want to try to do a couple of them with curves and figures. Thanks for turning me on to C2C.

Debbie. Those are great! Show him these as well!
My son lives and breathes Legos but most are Chinese Legos which many Lego collectors frown on.

I understand that aspect! I used the KOA hot tub a lot when we lived there. KOA was free to the local seniors.👍

Pamela Welcome aboard! We are an aged ship and our crew is diverse with many interests and ideas and may not always be on the same deck, but we sail together on this ship weathering the storms together and all that climb the rope and board the ship are welcome. Many have been keeping this ship afloat for years. I am a newcomer that just completed my first month.

Lisa: You can have your own coming of age party. You’re doing VERY well and deserve to celebrate.
Pip: That patio chair is stunning. It reminds me of 1950’s style chairs that friends of my parents had back then. In the 50’s it was all metal. Is your new one also all metal?
I’m having a quiet, low energy day. I’m reading a time travel book set in Scotland of the past & present. The author is Lynne Kurland. I’ve read this series before, but it was several years ago. If a book is worth reading, I often think it is likely to be worth reading again.

Yes, all metal, that why kirby wanted them cuz they reminded him of the ones his grandparents had, I was the one that picked the color

We're home! ... son was discharged and we're home. Swallow test indicated that everything is good. Diagnosis? "Choked on meat cut too big." The upgraded pureed diet to mechanical soft diet. He is exhausted but thrilled to be home.
Tracey ... I agree with you that Covid is really hurting those who need others to be their voice in the hospital. We were allowed, one at a time, to visit for only 4 hours ... 2-6:00 when every doctor is long since gone. In the past, I would have been there before his breakfast and left when he went to sleep. Yesterday he was almost narcoleptic because a respiratory therapist put his bipap mask on upside down!! Had I been allowed to stay with him until the end of the day, I would have put the mask on and he would have slept well. Just craziness.
Masks ... today I went to the hospital in a very well made thick face mask. I've been wearing homemade face masks every day I've been there. The hospital made me take it off and wear a paper one instead?? Others were allowed to wear their masks from home. I have no idea what that was about.
Michele ... the pureed diet I referenced was his hospital meal. The last time I pureed food was when my kids were babies. Tonight I did use a a mini oscar food processor to "mechanically" soften some cooked chicken. I have to figure out a grocery list for things that are easy and tasty for him. He loves to eat. By rights, with all of his health issues, he should be on a really healthy diet, but I had a doctor tell me that with all of his health issues ... he deserved to eat what he wanted ... diet be da**ed.
Heather ... children don't forget anything. My niece, who is 33 years old, can recall every visit she was allowed with me (they were limited due to family dysfunction) ... right down to the print on one of the tops I used to wear, the food I used to serve, and the decorations in my house. Boggles my mind. So happy that you had a wonderful visit with your family!
I'm done for today. I will be getting my son ready for bed early so I can do the same.

I layered zuchini, red onions, three meatballs and sauce, and cheese. It was so good with campenelli noodles. I then had a small bowl of cereal an hour later. I closed my window at 3:00 pm. I was able to write 4 letters so about 16 pages total. It helped that my pen pals asked a lot of questions.👍
I cooked up three cube steaks, for the guys. Husband organized fries and onion rings. I used bacon grease to fry them in, just a spoonful. At the end I finished cooking them in a tablespoon of butter. Made them creamy saucy with lots of spices!
I kind of wanted some toast, but I am standing firm and not.💖
