New Year Finish Line - Weight Loss Challenge

My Name is Donna. I am 60 years old and I live in the Midwest USA. I am 5’ 5” tall. My relapse in my weight loss journey started last November (2019) so I am here to make sure my situation does not get worse as we enter another season that is laden with many food-filled holidays. Most challenges weigh daily or weekly. I will experiment with weighing intermittently during this challenge.
My highest weight: 253
Highest weight on MFP: 235
Weight on Aug 20, 2020 (Challenge start): 209.5
Goal: 194.5 by January 1st 2021
I am starting this challenge late.
October 18: 208.2 My weight went up overnight. Too much bread.
October 21: 206.2 Wow! Proud of my changes but it will likely level off soon on my scale.
October 27: 210.4 Travel Yesterday. I wasn’t going to post today but I just want to face my truth. I also want to share that the struggle is real. We are in this together folks! Today I will try for a great healthy day!
November 3: 207.6 Better than last time but I am still not making the best choices.
November 5: 206.6 Happy with the downward trend. Let’s hope I can keep my fat trap shut and only open it for healthy food!
November 15: 208.6 The path is filled with many ups & downs and unexpected curves. Just sharing one of mine. You are not alone. The journey continues…..
November 20: 208.4 I am moving out of my home today and handing over the keys to my two businesses that I own. Going into early retirement and am nervous but excited. Watching my diet will be hard in the coming weeks of organizing, unpacking and returning to train the new owners. But I should get in a lot of movement. I hope to have life become normal again before the Christmas holidays.
November 23: 207.2 That’s better but travel today will be sure to bring some water retention, some bloat and some gain due to food and inactivity in the car. I’ll will try to make good choices and get in extra movement in the coming days.
November 30: 207.2 I managed to maintain over Thanksgiving week with a few ups & downs along the way. Yay! I am happy to start the Season without having too much damage so far! I hope this challenge will keep me more accountable during the most difficult and challenging time of year for me (when I usually begin my downward spiral of gaining)!
December 06: 203.4 I am very happy about this. Normally during this time I am beginning my horrible bout of Holiday Weight Gain. I hope I can keep up the momentum.
December 14: 203.4 Up & down since the last post. Trying to finish less than the challenge start even throughout the holidays. That would be a first for me!

Totally normal, especially for a lady, I'm a boy and I can gain 4 lbs in one day (actually one meal ) and loose 2 the next day type of thing, just keep grinding.2 -

October 18: 208.2 My weight went up overnight. Too much bread.

December 21: 206.0 Creeping up because of Christmas goodies. My plan is to AT LEAST watch my meals, move more and drink the water. That should help mitigate the damage since I have no control when around the sweets

In maintenance goal range past 25 months Now trying to edge lower as COVID is a great time for me to do so.
1 Week to my 5 year anniversary of beginning this journey! I plan to be between 153.3 to 154 lbs (70kg)1 -
My Name is Donna.
December 21: 206.0 Creeping up because of Christmas goodies. My plan is to AT LEAST watch my meals, move more and drink the water. That should help mitigate the damage since I have no control when around the sweets.
December 25: 205.4 I am still paying a little too much attention to the Christmas goodies but I appreciate all progress. Merry Christmas Everyone!
December 28: 205.2 Up and Down over the past couple of celebratory days, but I am still down from challenge start, including through the holidays, and I would have thought that to be impossible. What great incentive to stay the course!

@deepwoodslady Congratulations❣️❣️❣️❣️2 -
Well, I got down to 188 (a 10-pound loss during this challenge) and then decided to "maintain." Unless maintenance makes my pants tighter, I haven't maintained. I am back to my weight loss plan now and will weigh myself on January 1. It won't be pretty, I'm sure. But I'm not going to give up. Sometimes in weight loss, I just need a break and a bit of rebellion and then I'm going to lose some more. Congratulations to everyone who is achieving goals and best of luck in 2021. Happy New Year!2
